This is straight up the most intimidating that Vader has ever been portrayed as. He was always SUPPOSED to be this big bad guy that noone dares speak of. He was always supposed to be this juggernaut that if you meet him, you just know you're dead. And this is the first time i really felt that. It was perfect.

Not true. That's not how he was conceptually. He still had A LOT of power, second only to Sideous, but Lucus' conception is that despite ALL of his power, he still is just a shell (metaphor and literally) of what he was supposed to be, his true, Chosen One potential. A broken, defeated man, who's potency in the force is broken, compared to how Jedi days. However, his focus makes him stronger and more effective than ever. He still was a force, but a broken man, lesser than the Jedi he was supposed to be. Anakin is the living embodiment of the force (as is his family). Instead, he fell, tragically, into this broken man, cut off from the TRUE power he was supposed to wield. However, since the Disney retcon, Anakin did not lose his connection to the force, he never met his true potential, but he lost nothing. Like every sith before him, his power increased when tapping into the dark side. While he suffered on the inside. This Vader is better than what Lucus' was. However, Lucus' Vader was much more tragic, and you felt more for him. Which was the point. Star Wars is first and foremost about family. You look at Vader and see a big, scary imposing figure..which is what he was to the Galaxy. Look closer. I see that 23 year old angry, betrayed confused emotional kid who lost everything, and has nothing but anger and pain..all of which he has focused into rage. Anakin/ Vader is only 27 years old at this point in the Canon timeline. He was only 46 when he died. Crazy to think that Vader was so young

@@SirMan48 Wrong bud, he's always supposed to have been a super powerful being, even conceptually. Just read pre and post Disney source material, he's a badass in all of it. Lucas has stated that Palpatine is the most powerful sith of all time, and Vader is 80% as powerful as Palpatine, so yeah he's really strong and imposing. In the movies he dosen't go full apemode becasue he dosen't want to kill Luke, that's pretty obvious.

@@powerhouse8310 No man, it was in the old Canon that Anakin was more powerful than Vader. It just is what it is. Vader became refined and a stronger being, but Anakin was more powerful, and likely a better duelist.

You know you've created the perfect villain when his appearance in a spin-off video game instantly induces a mix of giddy laughter and pants-wetting terror in every player on the planet.

What I really loved about this scene. Was the moment, that Trilla sensed Vader's presence. The look of absolute fear on her face...sent chills down my spine the first time I saw it. I love the way Vader is portrayed in this.

@@InsomniacDoggo it's funny how a lot of people miss that. You can hear the sound the force makes when Cal slows time right before you hear the breathing. Vader was literally holding her in place. This amazing force user was just completely immobilized with not much effort by Vader. I love it!

Legit, I couldn't have asked for a better Vader intro. That ominous smoke followed by that thud and the first breath, but we just see Trilla, the primary antagonist, just shake in terror. Only thing I'll say is that Cere surviving that fall is kinda ridiculous... I've gotta say, they could've brought her back in the sequel as an Inquisitor. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, a sequel was greenlit a couple of months back.

I love this is like the smallest fraction of how much power Darth Vader has. I love this so much because this the only place you can really see besides comics. Comment if you know any others.

This is why Darth Vader is one of the best villains in movie/comic/etc history. There is so much background to why he became this... monster. People have more of reaction when makes his intimidating entrance like that because he is a scary dude. If you remember in Rebels, Ezra described what it felt like when Vader walked in. "I feel... Cold." Because Vader carries so much that people can feel that hate. Vader's not crazy, he's not insane, bloodthirsty... He's just angry, which makes him a more unique bad guy.

Ben Sparks What I find also scary about the hate of Vader is that I mostly feel like the hate he has is hatred to himself. He must blame himself for what happened and the things he’s done. He felt responsible for the Jedi Order falling, He feels like he was the reason his lover died and he also blames himself for falling into the dark side in the first place. Which honestly in a way he has a right to blame himself. He’s fallen so much into the dark side that he feels like there isn’t any other choice he has until his son eventually brings him back from his darkness.

Don’t how to explain it, but it looked to me that Cal manipulated the pressure of the torrent long enough to use it to suck himself into the Ocean with Cere and BeeDee. Then Vader took over to protect himself so Cal and Cere didn’t get dragged back in.

I just had a big fat smile on my face the whole time when this scene came on with the music. No one was able to hear it but I was screaming inside.

It's a great bit of storytelling. Cere goes charging at Vader and you think there's going to be some magnificent fight scene. Instead, Vader just waves her off like someone would brush away an annoying bug. It immediately established how immensely powerful he is, and removes Cere from the stage so the action can now center on Cal.

Der Atemlose This was honestly an amazing game. I’m really happy it’s gonna get a sequel. Maybe they’ll start making other games like this too. I’d love one with a Han Solo type character to play as, or a bounty hunter hunting down Jedi for the empire.

When you want to windmill slam the "give up" button and change the difficulty to easy mode, but then you remember that you're playing a souls-like

To answer your question, yes, Darth Vader can swim, although I'd imagine not very well. He was seen doing so in a canon comic of his adventure on Mon Cala, or however you spell it.

Swim no my in a comic for the current canon he created a air bubble around himself at the bottom of the ocean and forced it to take him to where he was going. So swimming no but he can basically form a his own space in the ocean.

The breathing, the intro, the music, everything was spot on. One of the most intimidating and fearful Vader appearances

@@JerBearVII Well, not entirely. He used his free hand to Force lift the Alliance fleet troopers. Also, let's face it: troopers are nothing compared to another Force user. As good as we've seen Cal become when handling a lightsaber, Anakin demonstrates that over the five years since Order 66, he's only gotten better in spite of the suit keeping him alive. He didn't even need his left hand to push Cere. The end of Episode III made Anakin look kinda like a chump, but this scene really made him live up to his reputation as the most feared Sith in the galaxy (after the Emperor).

@@JerBearVII I've become kind of obsessed with Jedi sentinels recently, and strongly believe that Cal fits into that category. When I first played I went with cyan, but once I switched to yellow there was no going back.
