I have a pair of the T1 I picked up at $500 when they were clearing them out for the new + series. I can't imagine a better speaker for that price, and I assume the B1+ have the same top end that makes these so great. Dialogue, imaging and sound stage are at the top of my list in that order. I'll likely add a center at some point but I'm going to try it without cause its a little inconvenient for my setup. @@NemoPropaganda there were about 4 things previously missing that, when fixed, led up to my second comment and praise of the speakers. 1) They were not broken in when I made this comment. 2) I was not using a quality audio source. I was just using radio station music for the break-in period to ensure that there would be constant audio going through the speakers for a few days. 3) The micca speakers had better sensitivity it seems so the volume level needed to be set higher to get the PSB speakers going. (I referenced 85dB on the db meter for both speakers to confirm this hunch) 4) I needed to set the Yamaha AVR audio setting to "straight" instead of the "5 ch stereo" setting to realize the full accuracy and true capability of the PSB speakers to reproduce the source material faithfully. After these issues were rectified my opinion is EXACTLY Opposite now thinking that the subwoofer is the weak link in the chain. Don't get me wrong the PB-1000 is great but it's not as musically accurate as these speakers. I'm not unhappy with it but I could hear a lack of articulation and speed depending on the music being played. The PB-1000 would be better suited for movies. I have since dialed the volume of the sub WAYYYYYY back and set the low pass at 40Hz in an attempt to speed up the sub and as a testament to great sound these speakers have I actually turn off the sub depending on what song is being played because believe it or not the bass in some music actually sounds BETTER through the PSB speakers instead of the sub. Crazy but 100% true.

Yeah the 4" woofer is incredibly articulate, even my SB-3000 is not as articulate as the PSB Imagine Mini in terms of bass. What i do to blend them better is i set the subs crossover really low, the PB1000 i would turn it all the way down and set the phase so that the sub is not creating too much midbass, from there you'll need to turn up the gain more than usual but what you end up with is the sub only producing the last 2 octaves so you mostly feel it instead of hear it. that's a tough one as i have not heard the b5.2, my only experience with Elac is the DBR-62 which I absolutely LOVE!!! However judging from the reviews I've seen it seems like the Emotiva has more bass and a brighter top end while the Elac has better driver integration and a more balanced sound.

Hi Danny, it depends what you're looking for, if you already like the sound of the Marantz i think it will be a good pairing and the marantz has tone controls so you can always make some adjustments if needed.

@@NemoPropaganda Thanks for replying sir. Actually I am thinking of Marantz PM 5005 to pair with PSB Alpha P5 or Polk Audio S20. but i don't which speaker will sound a little bit brighter but not to bright. i wish i could have audition buy unfortunately all electronic stores here in Cebu Philippines are all closed. Now i am relying more on feed backs. As a newbie in this hobby, I ma confused. Emotiva B1 power requirements is 50 and above wnd PM 5005 is only 40 watts per channel, i don't know if it can drive the speaker. Can you give me your thoughts on this. Thank you

@@odannyblueso 10 watts is not a big difference, 40w will be fine for the Emotiva B1 or any of those speakers. Polk is the brightest of the 3, then Emotiva, then PSB. But that's just compared to eachother, to some people the Polk might be perfect because we all have different ears, i know it can be difficult. Is there a local facebook group for audiophiles in your home town? Maybe you can meet some new guys and hear some different speakers?

for me it’s fun, that’s why i do this. It’s not for money, so if i do it a way that i don’t want to do then it’s not fun anymore for me. I know some people like demos, but i don’t. It’s like if you asked me to review some speakers that i’m not interested in, i know maybe some people are curious, but if i’m not interested in it then it makes no sense for me.
