Hello brother. I went crabbing a few days ago in Santa Cruz and and got skunk. I known you went to Santa Cruz on the opening day and got limits. You don't mind if I ask you where did you drop your traps? Thanks.

We were straight out from the harbor about 80ft deep but they seem to have moved on. I've heard of a couple people skunking in the same spot. If I hear any good reports, I'll let you know!

Looks like a great day you guys had ! One thing bro , I think it would be good to educate your fellow crabbers (who may be new to it )on how to identify a male vs female and also whip out your gage and show how to measure a legal keeper. Thanks for a great video

you should let people who are new to crabbing make sure you have your info and your go ID number on your floats!!! F&G aint fucking around. there out thier watching with binoculars no joke! been watching them looking at floats.by the way the deeper the better out of SC! great catches!!!

We've soaked overnight but they will definitely get picked if you leave them out too long.

Try varying the depth to see what's best for the day. I usually start at 50-80 feet but they are at pretty much all depths. This day was at Santa Cruz! Good luck!

The albacore was scraps from fish we caught but the anchovies and squid were frozen.

This theory has been done to death. Unlike fish, crabs aren't picky eater. Thet don't prefer one food over the other, they are scavengers and will eat ANYTHING. I've caught multiple pot full of crabs just by using cooking oil soaked rag because I was at the right location & depth. And that's what it really comes down to.
