I am viewer number 3. Your thoughts on my little lightbulbs made me laugh, because you are not wrong at all. That tattoo is 5 years old now, it was my first. And it is not very good. But it has meaning to me, and I get asked about it all the time. As for the second one, the character is actually from a video game. It's Hermes, the Greek God, from the Hades video game. That said, the game does have a but of an anime art style. I didn't add any filters or edit that photo at all. Just took it in a room with a lot of good natural light, and honestly, in person, it looks more saturated than that picture I took. It's super bright and solid. It's just over a month old now and still healing. It was only about 2 weeks old when I took the picture I sent you. So that 'scarring' in the hair you mentioned was just stabbing, and it is gone by now. I also want to add that it was done in one session, over about 8 hours. Which I will never do again lol. The artist who did that Hermes tattoo is Alex Sierra. He does super good work. This was my second tattoo by him, and it won't be the last. He does mostly do anime stuff, but he can do more. First tattoo he did for me was a neotraditional kitsune fox mask, which is also super good, and almost a year later, it still looks new. I get asked if it's fresh on occasion.

​@@hello_there740 it is a reference to a twenty one pilots song. The judge. There's a lyric in it thay is 'three light are lit but the fourth ones out.' And the whole song is about anxiety and depression, both of which I have.

Viewer number 5 here, you’re spot on about the first design. It took me FAR too long to realise I can’t just get any old design with my skin type. Sadly this is something far too many artists aren’t aware of either - unlike my hannya lady which the artist crushed, she nailed the brief and then some and I’m going back in August to get a matching man. I get what you mean about the traditional elements though. However, I’ve just never been a fan of traditional faces, they always look a bit too uncanny valley for me. So this is perfect, I couldn’t be happier! 👌

Missed this. I'll have to toss some in to get insulted or appreciated on one of the next ones.

I was wondering what you thought about a baaaad tattoo outline I saw on treacletatts channel. She did a whole video on a tattoo done in Australia by a ticktock/instafamous studio (lovesick tattoo). The client has posted videos and photos of the 'bad' tatt and i was reminded of what you said about janky outlines on a big back piece. I wonder if bad outlines are okay in some situations? I freaking love your channel. It's so good to hear someone talk the way you do. It's bizzarre when you know a lot about a craft - the way an experienced person sees things is complety different to how inexperienced people see the same thing. I love hearing about how an experienced tattoo artist sees tattoos. I hated my tatts and thought they were shit. They still are, BUT they aren't as bad as I thought they were. Haha I can see how the artist did a good job now too. 🙏 Wishing you all the internet richness!

I've been a tattooer for 20 plus years. I agree with so much of what you say, Mr. Fagan I'm sure we could work together just fine. I would like to say in my experience, traditional and obviously neotraditional styles go hand-n-hand with anime tatties as far as technical application. If you fallow all the rules, they end up looking super cool!! Those are my 3 favorite genres and pretty much what I stick to. Sure win! Oh yeah!... and, the bigger the better!!

Oh, I didn’t even notice. I started binge watching their content and didn’t even realize I was witnessing an underrated creator.

I had a heart like that on my leg next to my knee that I did in jr high. Lol. I got in so much trouble. But it's gone now,,after a little salt and Ice and a few yrs of healing, it's all gone and not even scarred

My mom used to hate tattoos especially when she was married to my dad and he as a biker got tattooed back in the 80s and 90s, but she's been with her husband since 2003 and he had some and then she got some and her one Good tattoo is a pumpkin on her lower forearm with a little pumpkin bloom and a little vine and a cute little fairy sitting on top but turns out she is allergic to the yellow that was used so some of it healed wonky and it had no outline so now, 20yrs later and you can't really see it and she's afraid to get it fixed because of her allergies.

I've covered all my bad tattoos and erased all the photos. Lol. Maybe I take a bad one from the Internet and submit.

Don't even know how I came to this channel. But it's interesting, especially to me who has no tattoos at all (I grew up in the 80s and back then a tattoo usually implied low status. That changed in the 90s but I was already to aware how irreversible such a thing is). There's one point I would like to make, though. I saw your tattoo on your palm of one of your hands. And it somehow gave me a weird vibe. Then I figured it out: Showing our Palms is usually a sign of deescalation or to show literally "see, I have nothing to hurt you in my hands". That's more or less why we show our palms to people. But what if your palm is tattooed?! At the very 1st look you will assume that guy has something in his hand, only at the 2nd glance you realize it's just paint. But it could have been a knife as well, at the first glance at least. What I want to say: I, personally, would advise against a palm tattoo. Almost as much as I consider every type of face tattoo a disfigurement (this is just me) - due to the very same reason. It puts yourself at a disadvantage when your character will be judged by a new acquaintance. At least, that's my impression. Please don't feel insulted. I respect your choice and I hope you are happy with it. But since this was probably the first palm tattoo I saw, and since it had that weird effect on me, I just wanted to let you know about it.
