Best Amish Sandwich Bread | No Bread Machine One Rise

In my opinion this is the ideal bread recipe for all you white bread lovers out there! Dan had one last request before she heads home to Viet Nam and that was to learn how to make momma's bread without using a bread machine. I know many of you were interested too. Bread making can be intimidating at first so I hope this how to directed at Dan, as a beginner, will help you be successful making your own bread. Welcome to my kitchen, enjoy.
Dan's KZread Channel: / @dannguyen1148
Recipe:
2 cups water (110 degrees)
2/3 cups sugar
2 packages yeast (1.5 Tbsp)
1/4 cup oil (I use avocado)
3/4 tsp salt
6 cups flour
Direction:
Add water and sugar, sprinkle yeast in top of water and let proof for 5 minutes. Add oil and salt to yeast mixture and mix well. Add flour 1 cup at a time till dry dough ball forms. Use excess flour for kneading. Knead bread at least 5 mins or until you can pull small finger full of dough without it breaking, it should stretch. Form into loaves and let rise until at least twice the size. Bake at 350 for 30 mins.

Aw this was such a delight to watch. I'd been searching for a reliable sandwich bread recipe anyway, but it was so rewarding to see Dan's enthusiasm and her story about how she learned she can make everything they buy at the store. Learning how to make her own bread by scratch is such a great gift to send her home with. What an awesome experience for her! 💝💝💝 And the loaves turned out great!! I'm so excited to try this! (today, in fact!)

Grandma was a Great Depression baby and taught me how to make bread. She's long gone and time and trials over the years had me spending far less time in my kitchen. Enters 2020, and found myself back in my kitchen, where I belong and love to be. I've been baking all kinds of bread for the past few years and enjoying every minute of it. I made this recipe last night and I'm over the moon so to speak. Beautiful Bread!! It has become a daunting task to feed my family of 5 with my shrinking pantry. No eggs, no butter.. no problem thanks to you. Much love from my kitchen to yours

What a sweetheart! I know she has gone back home....I bet when you watch these videos of the two of you together...the tears flow! 😥 I hope you linked those pans! I need to get at least one. I only saw a pan with a lid once and I didn't understand why that would make sense...now I get it. I am thinking I could actually reproduce that by laying one of my stone baking pans on top of my bread pan! I am going to try that! :)

Been making bread just about every week for over 6 years and I'm still learning something all the time. My fav is a combo whole wheat/all purpose that tastes great but it's not really a sandwich style loaf. I believe I will give this version a try. No machine, no mixer, always by hand.
