While I was doing on-line dating, I had "coffee dates" with 100 guys within 6 months.(I live in NYC, so that's doable.) After that, I was burned out and quit on-line dating all together. There is zero romance and mystery in on-line dating. Meeting people in the streets is my thing. My ex-boy-friends (randomly met in streets) including lawyers, bankers and a criminal just released out of jail the day we met. In person interaction is MUCH MUCH more Fun and Real than that digital game.

You make such fun videos… those Boulder guys are missing out on a real gem! Never lived in CO, and older, but my guess is that it would be super clicky and hard to get any personal cred for a couple of years. But I have experienced when the “single” population outnumbers those with families, there’s not enough pull to bring those disinterested folks together with a common, healthy, grounded purpose. It’s just everyone for themselves, charging down narcissistic paths in divergent directions, and scared to commit to something that will challenge their identity.

i’m here just cause I enjoy you Genevieve! ☺️🤗 We lived in Durango for 3.5 years and then moved to Oklahoma where my husband began working for Apple which brought us to California in March of 2020 and now we are on Washington state to escape the Craziness of California control. I was raised in Kansas so we are strongly considering Colorado as the place we’d like to buy a home and place down roots. For one, we’d be close enough to family to visit and they’d be able to drive to us as well. We also love nature but miss the midwesterny mountain combo you get in there. In Washington, nature is really beautiful and the people are very family oriented but it just doesn’t feel the same. As a midwesterner who love nature, Colorado just seems right for us. Also, I have to say, when you said “individual minded” I automatically thought “you mean selfish and self involved?” that is one thing I hated about Colorado. People were so focused on themselves and weren’t able to see the benefit of helping your fellow neighbor. you are so lovely I can see what you mean, you are a connected person and I hope someone will come along and see you for the beautiful woman you are! Great video and extremely accurate and well-delivered.

Here's an idea, something no one else has done yet: do randonautica with the intention of finding some of those scary stairs in the woods, and take a photo of it (there are almost no photos to be found of the stairs, because people get so freaked out that they leave in a HURRY.)

You have explained the complicate human emotion of trying to find out a partner so nicely.

1:45min.....yeah you're right! Its hard to stablish friendship and relationships, the few good friends I made left already because many pple move to CO just for a few years :( for many different reason my friends moved out, specially Boulder, people LOVE that city but they don't stay longer. The guys I met loved too much their "independence" addict to travel and being outdoorsy, but hard be "steady". After kissing some frogs 🐸 I found the right one ❤️. And to be honest by the time I meet my husband I was already convinced that I'll be single and I was HAPPY with idea, and life surprised me. Like the video said "BE CLEAR" of what you want ....I was very clear I wanted to get married and have children eventually and I told that to my current husband, I told him take it or leave but thats what I want. I wasn't shy about telling everyone what I want in life :)

Grew up in Manitou Springs, 5th gen native. So refreshing to hear what I am thinking a lot with dating here. Sadly I have decided to give up on Colorado and moving to NC. Partly because a lot of the reasons you have in other videos but also just the people increasingly moving here are NOT normal. Hopefully a new state with no singular unifying outdoor activity will be more my speed as I have always felt ostracized for not liking hiking/skiing/climbing/camping.

I moved here from TX a couple years ago. Tbh this place is not my cup of tea. It’s gorgeous and I like being out in the beautiful scenery but there’s no culture here. Also, I’m not into skiing, snowboarding, climbing or weed so I feel ya. Congrats on moving to NC, I hope it suits you well. I want to head out too but not sure where yet.

@violetsky__7649 this is shocking to read. Colorado has SO many distinct cultures. It sounds like you only experienced the "mountain bro" culture. At the end of the day, the state has one of the oldest crypto-Jewish communities in the San Luis Valley, a unique green chile varietal in Pueblo, multiple amazing and distinct indigenous communities, EDM, Bluegrass, brewing culture, rodeo & stock show, etc. The real issue is not culture, but the fact that people are genuinely more down for their activities than other people or a partner.

I just moved to a Boulder for graduate school last August. I watched one of your videos before I moved and I started getting concerned again dating on the Front Range. I have to tell you that you were right… You were so right. I have never met such crazy people in my entire life, get me out of here.😂

I’m a native New Yorker who has been living in the Denver metro for the last five years. 37, never married/no kids, and extremely fit, stable career , well travelled have interesting hobbies, train mixed martial arts , and dating for me has been impossible . I think politics is a big thing. I’m very conservative, having been a typical liberal until I got a career started paying taxes, and my values have drastically shifted since Covid and the crime and inflation waves of the last few years. I think being a guy and not being a democrat in Denver the odds are stacked against you unless you are tall, wealthy or have some sort of above average status career

Nothing wrong with being single. If doing what you love someone with same interest could become a friend. No reason to engage in the act. Be friends forever and let it happen when it’s real. You know how men can’t help but get right to it. That is not what matters getting to know and have interests will work. Not lonely awkward intimacy with a stranger you know for a few months. If not done this way be prepared to meet a narcissist and trust me educate yourself on that. Always meet in public first 3 times or more and nothing wrong with asking for Id.

I feel like this was just a general advice video on how to date. I don't think this has anything to do with location. You mentioned stating exactly what you want, you mention getting out there, joining clubs, and getting off our devices. We're all too entirely involved in our online endeavors and it might be to our detriment. Lol, having dogs in general is a good sign if those dogs clearly adore their owners. My cat is basically a dog. He needs a yard. So here I am saving up a bunch of money trying to buy a house with a decent yard that isn't near a major road. 🤦‍♀️ But yeah, I want a dog. 🤣 If ya don't know how to ski or snowboard, that's ok. Just to be brutally honest there’s just not many attractive women in Denver. When you compare them to women in Manhattan and Miami where there’s a ton of extremely beautiful women and higher ratio of women than men so men tend to not settle because the women are willing to share. But in Denver there’s just not many attractive women and men are visual so their not interested in settling with someone they’re not really attracted to.

I’ve been trying to date in Colorado for a while. These critiques of Denver are spot on. I don’t see things from the female perspective so I can’t really speak to that, but dating as a man, in Denver. The most frustrating thing I see is that the more time women spend in Denver, the more they seem to let themselves go. They get fat, have stupid haircuts, are too old for the ways they want to dye their hair, and act like they’re trying to emulate their teenage-selves. I went to Fort Lauderdale for a short time and dated a few women and the experience was so much better. It convinced me I should move away; it’s that bad.
