I just finished a class that involves Bernina embroidery for the first time. It’s quite different from my brother Stellaire and not quite as intuitive but there are some perks. The size of the bobbin and the navigation through color changes are two of those perks.

That was fun! Definitely unforgettable way to learn hehehe! Awaiting my 880 but not the Plus, so no pin-point placement, wah. Will call every dealer in Australia in hopes of finding the upgrade pack! I wish Bernina could just make it available as a download!

Hello Gayle, Your videos have been so very helpful. Thank you. I was wondering if you always use the slide on table when embroidering. I find it gets in the way when trying to change the bobbin or troubleshooting if a bobbin error occurs.

Susan Wadsworth good question. I do use it most of the time. It easily slides out of the way if you need better visibility of the bobbin area. It is most important to use while embroidering using the jumbo and maxi hoops.

OMG OMG this is amazing!!! Please tell me if it is possible to upload a specific shapes like polygones of 11 corners etc or other geometrical shapes or designs of my choosing ?? Thank you

The BERNINA 880 Plus has a feature called shapemaker. There are preloaded shapes which you can select a straight or decorative stitch with. If you purchase the BERNINA Embroidery Software 8 you may make any shape you like and do anything with it.

I would look for the machine having all the upgraded warranty parts. Make sure that you have a great local dealer familiar with the 8 series and then purchase. If your in the Chicagoland area we are happy to help you learn it in person.

How does the machine do wide satin stitches with a straight stitch plate?

In Embroidery the needle is only going up and down, not side to side. The satin stitch is created by the embroidery hoop moving the work on an x and y axis (similar to an Etch A Sketch.

Check you bernina dealer but based on MSRP it would make it 1.3 million rupee.

Does this model do quilting as well?

Yes, as long as continuous line or other quilting type designs are used. See our quilting in the hoop video. Even though it’s a 7 series it still applies to the 880 plus.
