Completely agree with your comments about smaller races. I'm doing Chelmsford Marathon this year, profits go to charity rather than into the back pocket of a large organisation. It's fairly local for you, only half an hour from Liverpool Street on the train.

I see the marathon went well today. Talking about local races I ran the BigSky this morning the final in a series of 4 trail races on the south coast. They’d be right up yours and Sarah’s street.

Talking about smaller races, you should look at the lake vyrnwy half! Ran it last weekend and the views were great while being a very flat course 😊

Hey hey ! I do in-line skating marathons, and Berlin is actually the biggest race of the world Cup, and where the WR was broken, in 56' and xx seconds ! 43km/h average 😅 The pros are crazy fast ! Good luck for you and have fun !!!

Couldn’t join today, as I only arrived in the afternoon 😢 I would however love to meet you and Sarah in person! … I was contemplating running a 2:30 hour marathon to achieve this and see you on the course… but as it will be my first marathon, I thought, cmon let’s not be too ambitious haha 😂

Good luck Ben.. funny you mention that about switching more to local. Normally I do Amsterdam and Rotterdam.. but I want to change that and do the smaller marathons.. for me it is mainly down to money.. the prices of these races is just too much and they are too big now. So I think I will switch slowly and do 1 big marathon and 1 small one.
