You’re constant admonition to ‘consult your doctor’ doesn’t hold the same weight as it did prior to CVD. Now we’re wide awake to what we’re dealing with, and that the vast majority of ‘doctors’ are essentially paid hitmen! Thank you for sharing and explaining this to us. It is greatly appreciated!

I have been taking Berberine for 6 months and it has been a miracle for me. I am taking it for weightloss. The weight has literally been melting off after taking this. It helps me by working as an appetite suppressant, this helps me maintain a caloric deficit. It also gives me energy. I take 1000 MG. I started with 500 MG and it did not work as well. I have not had any side effects. I absolutely love this vitamin. I suggest mixing it with a keto or low carb zero sugar diet. That is if you seek to use this for weight loss.

🤔Comment, much appreciate that this talk explains mechanisms behind berberine’s effects. Glad to see an explanation. Miraculous! I had wondered about berberine because of coincidental personal experience with some supplement. I’d noticed that I felt much better, much healthier, more energy, even clearer thinking, when taking certain supplements that happened to include berberine along with other ingredients. Additionally, I lost unhealthy weight and got less sick. I hadn’t been interested in berberine but as I noticed that the supplement which included it had me feeling better whereas the ones that didn’t weren’t having such an effect, including looking better since others commented when I had taken it for a while, I thought that ingredient might be important. Although not certain, I have no way to definitively verify that was the factor, berberine seemed to be the key. Later, that supplement was no longer sold. It seemed quite effective. Even if it was a placebo (doubtful as I hadn’t noted that it was included when I started noticing the effect, and hadn’t noted originally that it wasn’t included in the other supplements), I miss the supplement. It’s too bad. The mechanism is interesting.

Hi Doc, so my question is Berberine good for a fatty liver when also including this study? In science direct..".The short-term effects of berberine in the liver: Narrow margins between benefits and toxicity"......this is a 2022 study.....notes "However, safety concerns also arise because all effects occur at similar concentrations and there is a narrow margin between the expected benefits and toxicity. Even mild inhibition of gluconeogenesis is accompanied by diminutions in oxygen uptake and ammonia detoxification and increases in the NADH/NAD+ ratio. " Thanks for your opinion as this stuff can be very complicated.

So, it technically disrupts energy pathways on multiple levels, which forces the cells to change their behavior. Compared to fasting it works whether the liver tries to compensate or not. On the other hand, it speeds up processes but does not let them get finished, which probably means a lot of unused metabolites just floating around (=a massive workload for kidneys). I would label it as a good shock therapy if your metabolism is in disarray, but a weird thing to consume daily if your body is in a good condition.

It's such a powerful drug, but mostly unknown to doctors since they can't prescribe it and there are no billing codes they can use. I think I did talk to a doctor about it, and he said "what's that?" and that he would prescribe me metformin if I wanted. There are some issues with metformin, though, and I'm not sure the risks outweigh the rewards. The only thing about all this I don't like, is forcing the cell into an emergency, survival mode, where it only produces the most important enzymes. That's why Dr Brad Stanfield (another YT MD influencer) was saying to only take berberine on non exercise days, which makes it a pain since every day is an exercise day for me. I think I lost weight when I was taking it (every 3 days o so) but I do too many things and don't keep track of them, so can't tell cause and effect.

Don't bother with doctors , go naturopath or a herbalist to info on berberine.

My ALT level before Covid was 12, year after Covid it's 37. GP hasn't reacted to that change and I'm freaking out what causes that spike - cancer ? which I know post covid people develop.
