The irony is that Judaism explicitly states that the life does not begin at conception, and that the fetus is considered "mere fluid" until around 40 days of gestation. Even my conservative rabbi would agree with that and demand that Roe v. Wade be upheld.

I mean when that child is born they don't even care to ensure it lives a healthy and happy life. They'll literally let kids and their parents starve in the street but turn around and protect a fetus, something that has no sentience or autonomy. But we all know this isn't done because of a sense of morality. It's a way to force people into desperate situations so parents have to work for cheap and buy more to survive. Or criminalize them so the prison-industrial complex can have more free labor. Anyone with a brain knows this is purely a move to increase the profits of mega-corporations who depend on exploiting workers/consumers so they can hoard more wealth. It's being dressed up as a moral issue solely for emotional appeal. Because the facts of the matter aren't favorable to their position, like always.

People who are pro life only care about the baby that’s being developed inside of the mother’s womb. • @Zack-vi7is

@@remington_acr1651 in other words they don't care about the actual living human baby. They only care about the non-sentient, non-autonomous gummy worm we call a fetus (which is not a baby, because a baby can live and breath without being attached to a tube siphoning nutrients off of an actual living human, a fetus can't). And why should it matter if the woman's life is in danger? If you consider it murder then you consider it murder. You can't then justify what you consider to be murder if it saves another person's life. Does it suddenly not count as murder if there's a chance the pregnancy could kill the mother? Also doubtful they would even concede on the idea that it's ok as long as the mother's life is threatened. They would likely place really arbitrary, generalized lines on that aspect that would allow them to decide, based on their own opinions, what's acceptable and what's not. Some states have literally punished women for having a miscarriage. So I don't believe for a second they would honor any of their stated exceptions.

Let me clarify this "when does human life starts" Debate... It's not from conception. It's from birth. C-Section or Vaginal Birth and other Delivery. Scientifically the 3rd trimester abortion makes it dangerous for the Fetus Carrier's life. Statistically, majority of Abortions comes after finding out missing your menstrual cycle and testing for pregnancy. This often comes AFTER 6 weeks. Finally philosophically, the moral issue comes from religious zealotry and not from actual ethics of it which is The Bearer's prerogative. The issue of "exceptions due to rape or incest" Does Women's Bodily Autonomy only exist AFTER her consent is defiled by a man? See that even the exception is insulting to all women. Pro-Choice is the only answer when Pro-Life does not pushes for the Life of the fetus AFTER BIRTH, nor anything before CONCEPTION. And this PRO-FORCEDBIRTH is only a loud minority amongst U.S Citizens. Even in Spain, they make it illegal for those looking for abortion to be protested upon by other people. You have the religious freedom to do what ever it is you want with your body, but do not infer that religious values towards others as you invade their own freedom. Americans forget this too often. Separating Church and State. Religious Laws to National Laws.

"Sex is only for procreation" sure seems like a gateway to Eugenics. If sex is merely a tool for proliferating our species, why should we let people decide who they want to procreate with? Shouldn't we select only the "best" genetic specimens to breed? And of course "best" will be defined as the most successful (wealthy) and the most "conventionally attractive" (this will start with anyone "good-looking", but will probably be narrowed to "good-looking and white" as time passes and conservative ideology is empowered)

Of course it was meant to be used that way. Every part of the US political system is specifically designed to limit progress as much as possible. That's the point. It was built to preserve hierarchies while giving the false impression of reinforcing democracy. Which is precisely why the US is consistently behind every other developed nation in regards to civil liberties and labor/consumer rights. It's why the US was one of the last developed nations to abolish slavery (and even then they added an exception so slavery could still be practiced in the form of indentured servitude I.e. prison labor). The system is absolutely working as intended, top to bottom. All progress that's happened in the US is done through unique, borderline revolutionary circumstances. Never through fair Democratic means. It's been a fight, figuratively and literally, since the country was founded.

I’ve always been surrounded by fairly religious people so I understand their perspective on many things but one thing I absolutely cannot wrap my mind around is the ‘no sex till marriage’ tradition. I don’t understand how you can have a long term successful relationship without sex. That’s why it always baffles me when people just throw out the solution to not have sex until you want babies. It’s not necessarily a shallow degenerate pleasure thing, because for me a big part of it is the intimacy and closeness you feel through the act. If me and my partner had to abstain until we want babies (which could realistically be never) the relationship would suffer. Why should we rein in our attraction to each other? Reducing the act of sex to just a tool for making babies erases the beauty of the act. If there is one thing that I would say is an absolute gift from god (if I believed in him) it’s the ability to feel such a blissful concoction of emotion from sex.

A huge part of why no sex until marriage was a thing outside of religion was mainly due to the fact the std slaughtered millions of people until we invented antibiotics in the early 1900's. Stds were among one of the more dominant reason why societies all around the world religious or non religious heavily restricted sex. It's also why virgin women were highly valued because prostitutes were viewed as disease centers and disease meant death in those times. Religion just carried the torch until the the invention of birth control which led to the sexual revolution in the 70's.

I know so many religious people that rushed into marriages so they could have sex. So many of them ended up divorced after realizing they aren’t really compatible with that person. Sadly most of them had kids quickly too so not only did a kid have to go through the pain of divorce the parents are forced to continue to deal with each other when neither of them want to.

I just cannot comprehend sexual attraction, I cannot imagine ever enjoying sex or romance, it's just not for me at all. But at the same time I can be supportive of everyone that seems to get a kick out of it and thinks it's the greatest thing in the world. I feel like Ben says that life begins at conception because it is consistent (I think he might have mentioned this before but I can't remember where). However if an estimate is consistent/reliable it does not mean that it is accurate, for example, if every time I walk into a room I guess that there are three people in the room it will be very consistent, however that has nothing to do with how correct it is going to be.
