This is a common problem and it's extremely hard. A family member that is dangerous is extremely difficult to know what to do. I say, err on the side of caution. If u have been attacked, or threatened, you have to get them out. And not admit them to your home. I saw two parents that did just this. They did not let their raging daughter into their home, tho it was apparently very hard for them. But it only takes a second for an attack that could end your life.

I told a relative of mine to put their 37 yr old, drug addicted, mental daughter out of their home. I told them she cld snap at any second. Love is no boundary for them, protect yourself first..

I've been straddling the fence over whether I should let my mentally ill drug addicted kin stay with me. It's hard to find any housing that will accept them and I hate to see them homeless. I'm stressing over this.

Courtney jones-hunter was my counselor. Just the day before she was killed I spoke to her. Her loss has impacted our school community greatly. Posters hung up on every wall. Notecards flooded the hall her door was on. She was always so kind and understanding. May she rest in peace. LLJH🕊️❤️

EXCATELY, but when you tell people that they think you are trying to be cruel. Personally, I think people want to hold on to that money they are getting for them instead of getting them the help they need in a facility that's trained to deal with mental health.

That’s more so lack of boundaries…but never have too much relationship with Jesus Christ, nor should God be blamed for this. Thats why its sooooo essential for a father to push his son out of the house when he turns 18 years old. If the boy is healthy and can work, then he must go and make his own way. Of course, mom and dad are always available to coach and mentor the young man towards adulthood success after he physically moves out of the childhood home.

I hate people like you who have that kind of rude mentality of pushing their kids out into a cold, evil society where they will most likely end up homeless. Don't be surprised and whine like a crybaby when you need your child's help later in life and they remind you of how you kicked them out when they were still only a kid and they say to you "Adults take care of themselves". Once a child has a steady job and a good amount saved up...THEN it is time to tell them to get their own place, not when they are only a teenager. As long as the child is not a problem then you need to help them to be able to sustain themselves in the world. Your "kick a teen out at 18" philosophy is wrong and unfair. Jerk.

18 is too young to move out. It's nearly impossible to take on all responsibilities at that age. To make enough money to pay all the bills on their own. Maybe this worked decades ago for some, but with Bidens economy, most adults barely make ends meet. Have a heart.

This is tragic! I didn’t know this family but I wonder did the 40 year old son suffer from mental illness or autism because usually a child that age doesn’t normally live with the parents. I’m so sorry this happened.

I understand your feelings and at the same time sometimes our love cost us our lives. I have 3 and wondering why my oldest keeps popping back up after leaving at 18 and running off to get married but now she makes her problems mines I'm fed up and about to walk away and leave all 3 of them to figure it out they can have the house. My goal was not to take care of nobody forever.
