Watching from UK, I don’t know the family but I’m a mom and can only imagine the pain she and the rest of her families going through right now. My heart is broken for them. To those blaming Roger for his death, by coming to the door with a gun, which was his 2nd amendment right~ After the 2nd shot the gun was seen flying out of his hand & he was falling~ So IF the cop had thought he was a threat, he clearly was no longer a threat so WHY did he shoot him 4 more #TIMES That cop shot him {6 TIMES} as soon as he opened his door~ First of all, that cop was supposed to tell him to #DROP the gun & raise his hands~ In Alaska & some states you can't even shoot & kill a #BEAR until it #CHARGE you~ Then it's self defense~

It's very sad that he lost his life, but who in their right mind would open the door with a gun in his hand to a police officer? The officer cannot take any chances, too many psychologically disturbed or criminally minded people are allowed to have extremely dangerous weapons in the US, which a completely out-of-date constitution allows them to have! As soon as you get rid of this medieaval constitution the better!

The big question is, why did the deputy hide himself from the peep hole. Rodger couldn't see who was knocking, hence he came to the door with his protection. That deputy is a coward that's why he shoot without even a slight bit of querying. He is wicked, especially when the reporter was not sure of the address. She is as guilty as the deputy.

This is just disgusting, unnecessary and heartbreaking. I'm sooo sick of seeing services like this. Thank you for your service. God please be with this family and friends. Rest in peace young man. I'm so angry, yet again. 🙏🏼😪🙏🏼😪🙏🏼😪🙏🏼😡😡😡

I didn't even know Mr. Roger Fortson. Yet, his senseless killing is painful and heartbreaking. Did the family request an independent autopsy or just the medical examiner’s report? We know that Roger would be alive today if no gunshots were fired. Based on the medical experts’ opinion, could he have lived after only one shot was fired? Two shots, etc.? The Sheriff’s Office and Deputy must be held accountable for the judgment they exercised to pull the trigger and for every bullet that was fired into Roger’s body.
