I'm fairly new to your channel and a silent viewer, today I felt like I needed to comment on how inspirational you guys are and when I say that I don't only mean Mary, I mean both of you because when your loved one is struggling with their health you are struggling with them emotionally. And Peter you're an example for all the husbands and boyfriends out there, I know it takes a kind caring heart to do what you are doing by supporting Mary physically and emotionally . I myself have a chronic debilitating illness and my husband works outside of home, and the time he's home I really appreciate how much he does for me and our 4 yrs old son, but sometimes I see the frustration in his face not only because he helps to take care of me on his days off but also frustrated at seeing how much I go through. So I wondering if you guys can make a video on how you guys go through all this and how does Peter deal with it on a daily basis, because you guys look so understanding on how to do it day by day. Thank you and I wish both of you the best☺.

When my dad was hospitalized at MAYO for several weeks for MRSA infection, they told us MRSA bacteria is on everyone's skin all the time and just the right injury/cut/sore or weakening of immunity will activate it inside the body and turn into difficult-to-treat infection. Once you've had MRSA infection, very easy to get in the future.

My husband got it several yrs ago. At the time, he didn't know not to break open fire ant bites. We moved from MidWest US (no fire ants) to SE (**MANY** fire ants). He ended up in isolation (I stayed in room), 2 antibiotic lines for 5 days, & surgeon coming in every day to remove infected/dead tissue. It did get in bloodstream up to the knee but GOD was good & the surgeon was top grade - my husband still has his foot as well as his leg. But it was pretty close. Now he has all these protocols to do if he even **suspects** a bite. It scares me until I remember Who is in control!

MRSA- methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus. It exists on the skin harmlessly, but when it infiltrates the skin or other organs, it becomes an infection requiring treatment. I’ve had experience with this, so I know a little about it.

Lupus patients, or prolly anyone immune suppressed get Pseudonomas (PSA). I have learned this bc I've been living with PSA in some non healing wounds since May. I did 3 weeks of merropenem, but it came back. Now it's getting a bit worse and forming abscesses, so it might be back to IV's. It's a nasty little bug in that once you get it, it's darn hard to get rid of it!! But you already know that as you've been living with it for years. But you "just keep swimming!" I pray your blood gets it's act together and tomorrow your blood counts are trending up!

MRSA is in the environment everywhere. You can pick it up at the grocery store on cart handles or anywhere else people go. It’s called methicillin resistant staph aureus and for the average person it’s not usually harmful. You could have it and never realize because it would never cause you a problem but when you have it in an immunosuppressed person you can see some real problems. Sometimes it’s just a local infection that anyway can get if it gets into a cut or something like that but in someone like Mary it can easily colonize in mucous and it’s fairly common in the cf world due to all the antibiotic use

MRSA is also present in abscesses at times and infected cysts, spider bites etc... Strep throat is caused by an overgrowth of group A streptococcus bacteria, as well. So it is present in many things that are not deadly. I really love how you guys explained the situation so we could understand it. Here is what The Mayo Clinic has to say about MRSA Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by a type of staph bacteria that's become resistant to many of the antibiotics used to treat ordinary staph infections. You are absolutely right it is found a lot in gyms because they tend to have warm moist areas which is where staph likes to grow hence its loving to grow in CF lungs nice warm and moist lungs. People without other health problems and normal immune systems tend to get MRSA from their skin in the form of a boil. CF related questions for y’all. Is pseudomonas an infection that a lot of CFrs get? I’ve seen a couple of other CF KZreadrs that have pseudomonas too. I have a surgically placed catheter in my bladder and tend to grow out pseudomonas a lot when cultures are done. My prayers are with you both and I will pray for good blood too 👍

good to have a team. And...also, everyone seems to be giving it their best guess! My grandmother used to make me eat LIVER as it was supposed to help my "blood". I would NOT recommend eating liver! (I bet it really doesn't help your blood!) But she believed it did, so she made me and my brothers eat it as she loved us so much. But I am glad you have so many on your side....but good luck also. The Lord and those that were inspired to follow the path of education and expense and hard work to work in the field of health, blessings to them. They keep me going and they keep you going. And a good prayer keeps us grateful! Thank you for teaching us more about CF also. There are germs all over. With my medication, I have to constantly hand clean, and had to give up my job with small children. (Germ city). BUT...hope for good news tomorrow! GO BLOOD!

You answered all my questions, I’m one of those “medical nerds”! I am an oncology nurse, so I love the medical talk and I had been wondering if starting some growth factor for your WBC would be an option. You guys are great! Sending “Neutrophilly” thoughts to your bone marrow! Blessings! Rachel from Seattle

Ive heard of MRSA before. My mother in law was in the hospital alot and on strong antibiotcs for it. Then she ended up with cdiff caused from the strong antibiotics. So it was a never ending cycle for her. Peter looks so tired. He needs help with all that hes got going on. Love to both of you.

My mom's lung Dr said that everyone carries MRSA and that it lies dormant in your body. Certain illnesses can cause it to "activate. And it comes out in different forms. Skin, lungs. Mary, Peter and Ollie I am praying for you and much love sent.
