Behind they Keys w/ James Poyser - Episode 6: "Chicken Grease” (D'Angelo)
Ойын-сауық
To many James Poyser is the man behind the keyboard on “TheTonight Show” and the familiar face accompanying Jimmy Fallon’s “Thank You Notes,” but he is also a world renown music producer. Billboard recently called him one of the 10 “Producers Who Defined the Sound of 2000” and “a critical player in the neo-soul movement of the late ‘90s and 2000s.” Now James steps out from behind the piano and tells the stories of creating the music that shaped a generation. From Eryka Badu and Lauryn Hill to D’Angelo, Jill Scott, and Common, James had a hand in writing and playing on their everlasting hits. With help from guests, viewers will get an inside look at how these genius pieces of music were created from the man himself.

Voodoo Tour to this day, the best show i've ever seen! i remember meeting Shelby, Jack and Anthony at a restaurant at the Taj Mahal, Questlove - we kept seeing him on the boardwalk (Atlantic City), met Spanky sometime before the show, kept running into Pino in the hotel.. so many memories.

I totally agree, best live show hands down. I still watch that on KZread... I was stage mgr on that tour working with R. Saadiq and every night I was in awe, the Soultronics! Whenever Spanky would come to cali I would be his driver everywhere, he mostly just hung out at the studio except going out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would drive D'Angelo around when he would come to cali and work with Raphael. True story, I rushed D'Angelo to the airport 3 or 4 am when Angie was giving birth to their son..I drove Angie around also when she cane to cali as well... I love my job.

The piano part exactly the hardest part about the song because you got to keep it going continuously every minute of the song that and the guitar riff play by the late Spanky Alford
