    Loved the film. Although it was kinda predictable and didn't really take the Prometheus storyline in any direction, I actually had a blast in theaters watching this. Would have been way better if this was Shaws and David's storyline where they run into the engineers and xenomorphs at the same time.

    I'm flabbergasted that people are hating on Covenant, I actually loved it. It felt so similar to the first time I watched Alien and Aliens. As a person who loves violent and gory movies, I gotta say the way the violence and gore was portrayed in covenant was brilliant. The way the blood was splattered in a clean white room and the baby nomorph's and xenomorph's translucent skins created a deep contrast that made me shiver, and I never shiver at the sight of blood or guts! This movie was awesome.

  • @DIN_NER

    Fassbender was quite gaunt in Prometheus but in Covenant he's much more solid, probably from having to beef up for Assassin's Creed. So I found it interesting that David and Walter's faces looked different from each other, it's amazing how much of a difference make-up can make. It's only after David styled himself after Walter that the illusion was shattered.

    Shows you just how much Cameron knew his shit and how to make something wild and entertaining, not just dread, pain, misery, and a downbeat ending. Gallons of blood does not a summer fest make.Caught Wonder Woman today. What a first class production. Didn't even need the old effects style fight at the end. (usual electric charges shooting off the fingers, etc).That stuff goes all the way back to The Raven, with Karloff, Price, and Lorre. But otherwise, a knockout.

    Atmospheric readings suggested the air is safe for breathing, and the chances that an alien fauna, which has spent millions of years adapting to non-human, non-terran life, is -extremely- unlikely. A fungi is only dangerous to us humans because they developed alongside us, and more importantly developed -to- us. Scientifically speaking any alien fauna wouldn't be adapted to us, so it would be harmless. (Of course they didn't know about the black goo, so I can't blame them)

    It's dawned on me that I love Alien Covenant the film. There are just some failings in the story and unbelievable decisions from the characters. And a few set and costume items that should have been edited out for lack of believability so severe that it distracted from the film. The cowboy hat was so stupid for example that, I hated that character, and did not appreciate the acting and character performance until I watched the second time.

    Too bad this amount of detail and planning wasn't put into the actual story by the writers. Beautiful sets, amazing artistry, sucky ass story that is predictable and just turns away from anything the fans find interesting..like Shaw, and the Engineers. Both of them were just nuked from the script due to some writer thinking they are what made Prometheus so divisive. WRONG.

    Too bad the movie was total ASS! Way to many WTF moments, like lets explore an undiscovered planet without a space suit on or at least a helmet! The scene where David is teaching Walter to play the recorder is beyond cringeworthy. I burst out laughing when he whispered "Ill do the fingering" into his ear. The chest burster comes out fully formed with long legs and arms then start mimicking Davids hand movements like a puppet. WHAT!

  • @nutz4gunz457

    @nutz4gunz457

    7 жыл бұрын

    Even if you scan the atmosphere and determine the air is safe you still have no idea about the plant or animal life and you would never send an team of explorers out without protective gear. The "ill do the fingering" was not meant to be funny, it was meant to be sensual. Your wrong about chest burster being a Protomorph. The Protomorphs were the first Aliens in the movie that came from inhaling spores. The chest burster came from the face hugger that came from the eggs David somehow obtained even though there was no Queen. It becomes the first Xnenomorph. The mimicking is just cheesy. No other alien in the history of the franchise has done that.

    +Hawkguy You obviously have either no idea what makes a good story, have a shit taste in movies, way too low standards, or just no knowledge about the Alien lore and the previous movies - or just all of the above. Just watch Redlettermedia's spoiler video for the movie to recognize its avalanche of plot holes and nonsense.

    Yeah, in the half in the bag episode the whole time Mike is talking normally about the movie, things he did and didn't like, then Jay comes in and fuckin shits on it the whole time not even trying to discuss it. This is basically what most people who watched the video latched onto because it's more entertaining to hate something than to have an opinion. In the Spoilers video, around one out of every 10 points were (kinda) valid and the rest were answered in the films, or were stupid nitpicking points that with any slight logic could be answered.

    LOL all this work and toil and the movie was awful. Horrible hodgepodge of prometheus and Alien shoehorned together. Perfect example of how all this art and film making takes a backseat to a good story and solid characters. You can have all the effects and well shot scenes in the world, but without a solid story and characters it's a waste...
