I can't even do this much, and I've been exercising 3 times per week for several months. My legs won't come off the ground without my back arching and hurting.

@@feral5374 Isn't that what I said? What can I do to work up to this point? There must be other moves I can do to strengthen the muscles that I need to be able to do this with proper form. Or, are there props or modifications to enable me to do this with good form until I get stronger?

Thankfully my core and chest are the two areas I've focused on for something like 8 months at this point consistently, so they're great, but let me tell you... 90% of ab workouts result in back pain regardless of form.

My physical therapist had me doing this after my concussion. Keep your lower back pressed against the floor, that's how the effects are felt. Very effective exercise.
Adding exercise back into my lifestyle. THANK YOU for the movement progression on the leg raise and considering those individuals starting, not yet having the strength to jump into full form that maximize the full benefits of a specific exercise.

Leg raises always felt weird for me I just done the second easiest variation and I feel a great burn in my lower abs, Thankyou for the vid
As a teen who always played with their legs in the air as a kid this was easy
