I disagree on your desicion John, but both boxes are very cool the use of that coloured wood was a great idea in the double dovetail 👌

Holy Jump Cut, Batman!
Take a sip of beer for every jump cut in this video, and see how long you last.

That was what I was going to suggest. You beat me to it. So you shall receive my thumbs up to convey to them my like of this idea 😂🤣😂
Hats off to both! Really liked where Jordan was going.
I’m 14 and have been wood working for a while now, but never Tried to dove tail too intimidating I thought but know I found a good example. Thanks! Keep up the good work

Check out rob cosman the dovetail guru
Congratulations to you and your wife on the new addition to the family!
I was about to make another snarky comment about spaceballs and how this video lacked the proper explanation and then he literally whipped out the spaceballs somehow in a dovetail toolbox... love this style video - thanks for sharing :)
I've been practicing hand cut dovetails for the past few weekends. Brand new wood worker here. This video came at the perfect time for ideas. Cheers!
Congrats on the new addition! I have my second daughter on the way this summer. And now I want to learn how to do dovetails.
Would love to see more of these type of videos. Sams box definitely better but gotta love Jordan's ambition. Sams was so good I find it hard to believe he hasn't done it before.
Sam has started being on camera to the point where he can carry a video on his own. Hope you consider both of your guys as some form of partners at some point. “Moving on up for a bigger piece of the pie!”
Hell of a teacher! Lol.. do u think the boys got all of that? He was 90 to nothing, and with no slowed down spots in-between. I'm loving it!!
Awesome video John! My suggestion is to make Sam and Jordan each build a toy to give to your daughter
I agree on who the winner was that said Jordan's design was straight fire his execution nos so much but his design was so beautiful.

Thank you! I’m too impatient to hand cut that many dovetails
I have watched most all your videos. You have inspired me to start my own channel. It’s been slow moving but I am enjoying the journey. Thank you very much.
Definitely a lathe challenge, fancy newel post, balusters etc. That’s some cool stuff the kiddos can learn!
The mix of quality, education, and personality in your videos definitely keep me coming back with each new upload. Thank you and your team for doing what y'all do!
LOVE THIS! I need how to’s. Always looking to grow my skill set.
Let's see more of these videos, very helpful!
Working on obtaining more wood working tools, just re-watched that video! Will definitely be watching this one a few more times! Ready to learn the “art”. Thank you, Sensei!
First off, Congratulations on the little bundle of joy! 2nd, Well.. had to buy that dovetail jig. Gotta learn how to this better. Got a couple of keepsake boxes to build with these. Thanks guys that was a really great video on dovetails.
Nice work guys, congratulations Mr and Mrs Malecki
The guys did a great job and were fun to watch. “Daddy day care” comment cracked me up.
Love the idea of this series. Freaking awesome video. Sams were clean as hell and Jordan said screw it im going big.
This video was great, I only started to cut dovetails last year and it takes a lot of practice to get them right
Yap, yap, yap, gets covered in sawdust, " alright, I got to leave" reminds me of my old boss. Lol
Great vid. I ended up getting the katz-moses jigs. Been thinking about them for forever and this helped push me over the top. Nice one boys.
Great video! Love the format, keep em coming!
Oh i remember doing dovetails for carpentry classes :D some people did those wrong way around and the teacher called those "Carrots" :D Best memory ever. Changed things to IT... Wish i could do fun carpentry things and enjoy a decent payment
I cant decide if that beautiful little girl is just that small and cute or if John is just that big of a bear lol. Love the dove tails and I for sure understand the frustration of having a teacher make it look easy and then trying it and finding out it is crazy hard. 🤪
Content has been great lately! Frequent vids. House remodel stuff. Project 3 ways series, and now this basics competition series...👍🏻👍🏻 keep it up!
Great job fellas and congratulations John! How about a power carving tutorial and competition?
Love your videos and education you provide. However I couldn’t get into it today with those jump cuts. Congrats on the new addition!
congratulations on the new addition to your family. Hope everyone is doing well.
Hand dovetail is very important to master because , will help you master hand tools, and any power tools be easy to use to
Pretty beautiful work, guys! Really nice! 😃 Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
Thanks for the basics, feel a little more Confident now!!
Step one for dovetails. Get the Jonathon Katz Moses jig. Step two. Realize that the pull saw you have sucks. Get the Suizan or whatever it’s called. Yes it’s $30 bucks. But once you use it you’ll be blown away. All the other stuff helps. But the Katz Moses jig plus a good Japanese pull saw and you’re all set.
Congrats on that beautiful little lady. Hope she and mom are healthy
That little montage in the beginning was hysterical. The other guys’ heads were spinning.
The content is getting better and better every video. Well done
Fantastic work on this one boys! Keep it up!
I still remember learning how to make dovetails at school in 88. I remember for hard woods you could use a 1 in 6 slope for softer woods, more. Some people go as far a 1mm for every 12... I think in the year 2021, they should learn how to make router dovetail joints.
Love this kind of video. Keep on keepin on squirrelly crew!
I’m always here for the vids dude! I love it:)
Sam nailed it serious woodworker Jordan it doing great for a fella who doesn’t like woodworking😃great videos lads keep them coming👏👍
The tiny baby in your big old's hands made me smile!!! Good job guys on the dove tails!
I think a good "new skill" challenge for the boys would be a through and pinned mortise and tenon joint ( no glue) like was common in furniture building throughout Europe historically. bump it up by making it all 100% hand tools, no electricity at all. I have made beds, long tables ( dining tables) and even pantry shelves with this method, and they look outstanding, and test chisel skills, Brace and bit skills, as well as engineering to make sure the pins and holes are placed, such that it draws the joints together very tightly.
These looked crisp as hell! Well done!
I have a challenge idea for you. A tray, bowl, and spoon. Maybe a little farther into the series when they have a few more skills. Get them to make it sized for your daughter.
Love this challenge series!!! More more more!
The cut scenes are ferocious!
Like the concept of the video! Nice toolbox!
More of these!
They were both really awesome!
Congratulations dad. She is a beautiful baby. Glad she take after her mom. 😁
Good video, always fun to see people cut their first dovetails.
All the way from South Africa Big shout out super cool channel
Great video guys! Buckets or barrels would be an awesome challenge to try especially if the pro version is the old school steel band no glue style, not sure if the idea will actual hold water for you though 😒
Bow tie live edge coffee tables with inlays within inlays would be an awesome challenge!!
Beer pong table, basketball board hoop, bed frame , folding bar stool chairs, outdoor lounge chairs
Just fucking awesome! Please do more of these! That’s was awesome and soo refreshing to watch.
Founder's All Day IPA sighting. Great beer out of Grand Rapids, MI.
I really liked this video. Great idea. Come on Jordan, you gotta win the next one
This was a cool video. I have not yet tried dovetails, but I will someday.
You guys should try to make a wooden flyfishing net. I made one this year in my high school wood shop.
Congratulations on your baby daughter. She's a stunner.
Sam your piece is beautiful a rightful winner.
Next challenge Inlays. . Project to make. Sign for the workshop IE drill bits, remember eye protection, meat sweat area etc. . . Any sign any size any wood but with inlays.
I really enjoyed that one. I like all of your videos but that one was nice
Please do Baroque furniture! I love the details and engravings
Someone mentioned taking a drink every time there was a cut in the video. I drank a lot and now I have to pee. My water bottle is going to need a refill... congrats John!
This was so dope to watch!!
Lap joints, mortise and tenon joints. You should teach them to weld!!!!
Really enjoyed the video!!!!😁
Love this video when’s the next cooking in the shop vid?!
Jordan that looked pretty dope.
Congratulations on your baby girl mate,
I have an idea for a beginner intermediate advance project. Show the different levels in a hope chest. Perhaps get some wood carving in there!!
Me : I have a crappy day today Sam' hoodie: Me : *grin
BABY'S HERE?!?!?!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA??? Congrats man! Awesomeness. My first daughter just turned 17. I've got 6 girls and the 7th kid is my boy.... so you've got some catching up to do, sir. :)
Awesome video guys!! just honestly think its a bit overkill with jump cuts..
This is the greatest channel on KZread.
This is exactly what we are missing content wise. If this doesn't catch on, what!! inter-shop comps! shop vs shop comps! a play off run! a trophy for the winner!!! Well maybe not a trophy..But if it was truly worthy it would have an award... endless possibilities.
Lincoln’s hammer. Super hard but very great project
Congratulations on little Annie (hope that’s how y’all spell it) she’s adorable! 🥰
jesus christ, why are there so many jump cuts?
This was a dope video! More Sam and Jordan challenges please!
What about a project where you're all working on the same thing, but one person does one step then the next person does another step etc. but the catch is there's no plan and you're all just creatively working on 'something' and see what comes out of it. Does that make sense? 🤔
I’m a year late but I’m LOVING these challenge videos
So excited when annie is old enough to come to the shop and john does a teaching series for kids. We are expecting bout first in 5 months so it will probably align!
Awesome video, as a beginner I can relate to Jordan haha. Kid toy challenge?
Congratulations on the baby
“Looks like a church for birds” 😂
Great video!
Maybe try doing some weird modified dove tail. Any shape as long as it has similar mechanics. Also, congratulations John.
