There are 3 things you should think about and do before you report a claim of discrimination to HR.
Before you go to HR have a strategy and a plan. Do not go to them unless you do because once you do you will be a problem for them to solve and you won’t like the way they solve you.

    I wish I had this a couple of years ago when I had to report discrimination while working at Skillshare. What you said in the first 2 minutes is EXACTLY what they did. The CEO gaslit me and then, post "investigation", they came back with some unconscious bias bs. Subsequently, I lost my job and was retaliated against losing my entire career.

    Hi there, Im dealing with a coworker that said some racist thing. I came into project meeting and my coworker was saying something about some children she knew or how they acted. She had said it was because they were black. I’m in a position already where I’m doing a lot of the leg work and coding/development , and a year and half ago I went to hr and threatened with a performance plan. I’m tired of this bullying and being played off as stupid yet I’m fixing and addressing all the problems. This is very toxic for me and my emotional health as I want to succeed in my career

    Thank you for sharing. I didn’t go to HR, they came to me after I pointed out ADA discrimination, I was retaliated against with a PIP. Currently I’m out on FMLA because of it.

    My boss has been stealing many hours in miles! Which I believe the company has caught on because they did not give him what he requested! my boss is making me put my name on things that I’m not comfortable with. Saying I’m a witness something that I am not.. whenever a rental is return. He will tell me what to put onto it, which looks like I’m stealing by giving people free days or free stuff. I contacted Scott the next boss. He was very unprofessional, and then tells me to find evidence! I am giving an affidavit of truth I could really use some help. It’s hard for one person to find a corporation.

    Hello.. I'm in the process of writing my rebuttal statement due in a few days on discrimination by national origin, I am a black american fired and replaced by another black person. It's complicated but the details are transparent and I have proof. In need of assistance to word my rebuttal effectively to make it to the next stage. Help!!!

    I wanna know mam what should i do about who to report my discrimination claim to. My manager or HR? I reported it once to manager but he didnt do anything and fail to document the events at the time but now another incident happened and im about to document everything so i was wandering who i report it to after i document everything?

    I don’t report anything to HR anymore. I’ve learned they do the show ( investigation) but that’s it. I’ve ended up with a target on my back at two separate jobs. Once for reporting sexual-harassment, this one was worse because I was treated poorly by my male coworkers afterwards. The second was this jealousy white female manager that was harassing me. This lady literally wrote me up for something that happened on my day off that another employee was responsible for. Right now I’m dealing with a MEGA racist who says things to me like, “ As a white man I like to say you’re welcome for all the things white men gave BP. Like your freedom and civil rights laws. If there’s another white guy there, this guy talks to me like I’m a servant. “Get that WM a soda, he’s a WM.” I know his job is protected because he is their IT security specialist. I just have to endure, like my ancestors before me.
