Beethoven's 5th (Movement 1) Meets Metal

Музыка

Hey guys!
So wow haha. This was not easy at all to arrange, which I totally expected knowing the mind this beautiful piece of music came from. Ear-wise this is probably Beethovens most famous works (westerner-wise) and I just couldnt help myself but give it a try. Thank you guys so much for everything. It means the world :) Big big ups for continuing to rock my casbah!
Best to ya

    except vibrato. imo he should take some time out and work on that instead of covering song after song after song, making sure there are enough shred elements in there to make people go woah from time to time. but every once in a while he can't get around a sustained note it sounds shaky and whiny. i know, people will call me a hater for saying this, but i'm not hating at all. it's just the one thing that keeps him from having a really awesome tone. or making the guitar sing as some people like to put it. given his obvious talent i think if he'd practice a little bit, he should be able to properly shake a note in a few weeks. please don't hate me guys.

    331Erock ok but in my experience, it's always best to have a really strong foundation on which you can build all those other chops. i like to say, it's not called the basics because it's the easiest part, but because it's the most important part that you can rely on. we like fast runs that end in a big epic note :) you can do it haha

    And that, my friend, is the mark of a true musician. Despite the fact that he has a college in degree in music, he's able to compose every part of a piece on his own, and he's that crazy talented already, he'll still be the first to admit that he's got more to learn.

    Jeremy Joachim Personally I think most classical composers wouldn't be so interested in modern music genres so much, especially since all are ultimately derived from classical anyway. What they would be very interested in would be modern instruments. If Beethoven was alive today he'd go crazy over electric keyboards and synthesisers.

    Metal and Classical share quite a few similarities. I've always thought if the great classics were alive today they'd be experimenting with metal music quite a bit. Metal musicians certainly experiment with classical elements quite a bit. There's a reason you don't see operatic vocals in dubstep or an orchestra in rap. They were fairly experimental and pushing boundaries in their time as metal has been for some time now. The thing found in metal that's missing from most rock is a willingness to go beyond the formula that gets your songs on the radio. In metal you'll find compositions with as many and as complex musical themes as in classical and often pieces of similar length. Virtuosity and technique with your instrument matters, as does the ability to compose more than a simple 3-4 minute repetitive cliche. All in all metal music is about the same things as classical music was in its time. Besides timelessness is what constitutes a classic.

    sugoruyo There was a study produced a few years back that showed that fans of classical and metal tend to have very similar personality traits the only difference tended to be that classical fans were generally older, so I find it very easy to imagine the great composers experimenting with metal

  • @sugoruyo

    @sugoruyo

    9 жыл бұрын

    thomas ranshaw would you happen to have some more information that would help find this study? I'd be very interested in reading it. I do know a few people who play in orchestras and they are into both classical and metal (as well as host of other genres). In addition, most metalheads I know will enjoy classical music even though most of them won't seek it out and research it.

    Jay Lyons I understand that but my point revolves around how you can make classical music sound metal, and metal sound like classical, merely by changing their instruments. You can't do this with any other genre and frankly, if you trace metal back far enough you'll end up in classical roots.

    Beethoven could not have been bolder than with this grand masterpiece. And then this dude just takes it several notches further. Beethoven is dead and doesn't know a thing, but I think if he still had one degree of life left in him, he'd have listened to this song and you'd have seen his brittle finger rise and move as he conducted this electric avalanche. And when it was over, I think you'd have seen his bony hand curl into a ball so that he could make raise a thumb of pleasure. High five Beethoven. And high five to the guitar player. Beethoven was a rebel in his own life. He would have liked it.
