Your reactions to the Bee Gees are so wonderful and I really appreciate that you research the artists before listening. That's what makes your reactions so good, is because you know the facts beforehand and you can then ask better questions from an informed point of view. Thanks for covering this amazing trio because they are in our hearts forever.

They wrote about six tracks for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (some for other artists as well as their own). Everyone had a copy of this album in their collection but the BeeGees were so much more than a 1970s 'disco' band. Their early stuff is worth a listen too!

Oh, yes! The earlier stuff with Robin as the lead singer is just as good as this, but with subtle differences. Robin stepped aside as lead when Barry wanted to take them to a more Pop sound. Some may deride disco, but "It had a good beat & you could dance to it".

Ain't it majestic? I'm not a huge disco fan ... but "You Should Be Dancing" is quite something. The groove and the arrangement are intoxicating. It never fails to move my soul and no matter where I am I need to dance. You might know it already, but I'd recommend listening to the song on its own, then watching the video of John Travolta's dance routine in the film. Insane.

My suggestion? You need to listen to their entire discography. Seriously, there are too many songs to recommend just a few. It's not only the songs they recorded themselves, either. They wrote so many songs for other artists that you are probably familiar with. They sang backing vocals on a lot of those tracks. It's ridiculous not only how prolific they were, but how bloody good they were at writing.

This is the soundtrack of my high school years. I can't tell you how many times I danced to this as a teenager. It was ubiquitous. The entire album was played over and over everywhere you went for about a year. Their popularity can't be overstated. Now, if you want to discuss songs that were ignored at Oscar season, none of their songs from the movie were nominated for an Academy Award that year.

The first time he heard it he cried. So shocking to have a five yr old to be touched so much from a song! Another favorite is Fanny Be Tender With My Love. What an epic song. Such a difficult song to sing that it wasn’t one they did live. Must listen to the video. Even with the video it’s hard to tell who is singing what. Amazing song.

How Deep Is Your Love is such a dreamy, pretty ballad. The soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever is so awesome! I can still see the scene in my head when I hear this song...or part of the scene they show - Tony (a really young John Travolta) riding sadly and aimlessly in the subway all night long...and then again at the end of the film - maybe at some point you can react to the rest of the songs off of that soundtrack.

This was the love song of my parents, my aunts and my uncles. When I was a child, I wondered how could they all have the same love song? As I grew older, I realized how beautiful and mesmerizing this song is. Listening to it feels like being lifted to love heaven with sugary, sweet clouds of fluff embracing you. It’s no wonder that many couples from the 70s-80s use this song to remind them of their love. And it gets better and sweeter the more you listen to it. I could play this on loop the whole day!

From the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, you might enjoy Yvonne Elliman singing "If I Can't Have You", which was written by the Gibb brothers. And the Bee Gees themselves singing "You Should Be Dancing" gives sort of the opposite effect of the dreamy, soothing "How Deep Is Your Love".

It's always a joy to watch you react to music, Salvo. Your sincerity and sense of awe/wonder gets me every time. As others have said, you'd be hard pressed to find a so-so Bee Gees song, but considering the selections you've enjoyed so far, and the fact that you're really taken by their amazing harmonies, I'd like to suggest "Fanny (Be Tender WIth My Love)". It's not always mentioned, but the second half is truly majestic. And for a taste of rather early Bee Gees--with a great R&B ballad feel--you can't go wrong with "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" ('71).

He wanted a #1 song to hit the radio ahead of the movie SNL 's release. Boy, they sure delivered, and had other #1s with Staying Alive, Night Fever, You Should Be Dancing, Jive Talkin' as, well as , If I Can't Have You. These were beautiful men, God gifted, who gave a lot to people worldwide. I believe they were born to create beautiful music via their instruments, voices and lyrics as gifts to mankind so that we may experience love, peace, calmness while we walk day by day in this world for a brief time, a blink of the eye. I know Barry is still with us but his brothers (and let's not forget Andy), are all in Heaven playing music for our Lord for all eternity. I have no doubt. How glorious is that? I thank God for them. For many decades, they gave us their lives in song for us to feel good and get us through yet another day.

Try 'Alone', the video with clips of them in studio, meeting people during their career, and goofing around when they were young...another stratospherically high falsetto masterpiece. Maurice hits a few notes singing '...just the beat of a lonely heart' that sounds more flute-like than a human! SO good!

You would thoroughly enjoy Fanny Be Tender With My Love and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Both outstanding and from different Bee Gees eras.

This song just seems to take all the emotions you want to express at some point in a relationship and put them into words. This reaction was once again a masterpiece. I love the educational journey you take and the security you have in your own sense of self to be able to freely express the emotions you feel from the tracks you listen to. Thank you for all the effort you put in to this channel 😊

Speaking of Saturday Night Fever, you should listen to the album. It was VERY popular. It sold 25M copies just between 1977-80. As of today, it's sold 40M.

I am a huge fan of this group you could even say I’m a little obsessed when I look for reactions I type in Beegees reactions because I love to see how people are totally blown away by their voices. I can honestly tell you there’s not a song that they sing that I don’t thoroughly enjoy please do Fanny be tender with your love about three minutes in the harmonies will just knock your socks off I think I’ve listen to that song 1 million times.❤

Want to suggest some more gems. It's amazing how gentle their harmonies can be and that there isn't a battle or forcefulness between their voices. Try Fanny be tender with my love, More than a Woman, For whom the bell tolls, Nights on Broadway, Jive Talking, You Should be dancing...a few to go on with. Plenty more to come. Loving your reactions 😊
