    This video is great for all the half Filipinos or pure Filipinos who grew up abroad but never learned Bisaya. It's so hard to find resources or proper lessons online in order to learn. Thank you ma'am. Been in the PH for a total of 7 years but still can't fully speak Bisaya. Understanding is better though, about 75% right now. Please make more videos, Ate.

The good news is that when my parents having a bisaya conversation, I can understand them what they are saying. however, when I have a conversation with my bisaya cousin, I can't speak fluently like them until I see this video which helps me to be a fluent bisaya like them.     My parents never taught me as well; they only spoke in Tagalog to me and my siblings which I am thankfully still fluent in. But jokes on them I picked up most of the basics since my grandmother spoke to us in Bisaya and they spoke to each other in Bisaya. I basically heard all the good tea (gossip), not as fluent but enough to get by with context clues xD. The only thing hard for me is speaking it fluently in full bisaya considering I'm a nursing student at the moment in the Philippines and I need to learn the deep words asap. hALP ;^;

    I am Tagalog, and lived in Bohol for a month. I find Bisaya much easier to learn than Ilokano or Kapampangan because its much closer to Tagalog. The rules are almost the same. Just different vocabulary. I learned quickly within a few days. Of course I am not as fluent as a native speaker and they can tell I am Tagalog because of my accent. But it is well appreciated. We are going to visit Davao next month and I will need to polish my Bisaya again. None of my family members understand anything in Bisaya.

    This is super helpful as a Filipino from the states that has recently moved to Cebu (parents went back home to PH and retire there and I had to tag along). It's really difficult to find resources on learning Bisaya as Tagalog is a more prevalent Filipino language to learn for foreigners who would like to visit the country. I'm so glad that I now have the resources to learn and get better instead of speaking and understanding so little of the language with little/slow progress especially when my F2F uni classes will be coming up next academic year, and I'd like to understand my classmates and not feel too left out. Thank you so much for your videos!

    @@bisayaclassroombyjonah3891 pero ga cause man gud ug confusion kung inyo angkonon na Bisaya ang word kay kanang sinultian sa Davao is really Cebuano language, mao mga Filipino karon ga LIBOG na abe nila ang Waray, HIligaynon etc DILI BISAYA, ang reason ra man mi daghan ang Cebuano speakers sa Davao ug Mindanao kay during President Elpidio Quirino's proclamation No. 376, or Philippine resettlement program, on March 10, 1953. This is the reason why today 90% of Mindanao people speak the Cebuano language. Other Bisaya people who came to Mindanao were the Ilonggos and Kinaray-aand Kinaray-a from Iloilo in Panay; they settled around Cotabato and brought with them the Hiligaynon and Kinaray-a languages. Other Bisaya languages spoken in Mindanao are Surigaonon and Butuanon. The Ilocanos, Tagalogs, and other people of Luzon also settled in Mindanao and learned the Cebuano language.

    @@fredbigornia1814 FYI BISAYA did not originate in Cebu - pag abot sa mga Spaniards sa Pinas na discover nila na daghan ug Bisaya languages sa islands nag katag like sa Samar, Leyte, Panay, ug Cebu mao gi nganlan nila the whole area ug BISAYA islands How did Visayas get its name? Visayas is the spanish term for Bisaya. They call these Islands Bisaya (Visayas) because their languages have very similar Bisaya words. “But the proper name of these islands is the Bisayas. Many tongues are spoken in them, for there are many islands and many villages, and there is hardly a village that has not its own dialect. But the chief tongues are the Boholan, which is spoken in Sugbú, and the Hiligain, and they are very similar.” (Fray Juan de Medina, 1630). History of the Augustinian Order in the Filipinas Islands by Fray Juan de Medina a native of Sevilla, prior of the monastery of Santo Nio de Ceb and past minister to the communities of Ibahay, Aclán, Dumangas, Passi, and Panay. In 1630, he wrote the document himself. Osa pa bai Waray ang una na publish na First Bisaya Dictionary 2 seconday lang Cebuano The first ever Bisaya dictionary is Waray the “Vocabulario de la Lengua Bisaya” by Mateo Sanchez, which was completed in 1616. A Spanish friar named Mateo Sanchez was stationed to Dulag, Leyte (he also worked in the surrounding territories of Eastern Visayas). The dialect of Binisaya used there was recorded. His “Arte” is a dictionary as a result of the language’s dominance in the text. His book is divided into two halves. A Bisaya-Spanish dictionary is included in the first section, while a Spanish-Bisaya dictionary is included in the second. In the first part, some Cebuano words are mentioned by Sanchez, and he would always say that a certain word is either from Zebu (Cebu) or Bool (Bohol). In the second part, for every Spanish entry, the Visayan equivalents are almost always in pairs. One in Waray, and the one beside it in Cebuano. There could be two or more pairs,” and it’s always the Waray words that come before the Cebuano words. Is Bisaya a language? No. It is a language family consisting of languages spoken in the Visayas and northern Mindanao. Bisayan languages include Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Waray, Karay-a, and Surigaonon, among others.
