    I’m totally convinced, as an education attorney who represents Deaf/HoH kids, that Matt 100% is not selling anything. The accommodations we have to fight for just to make schools provide the accommodations and services these kids need not just to hear, but to prevent auditory fatigue (which can REALLY REALLY drain them), are significant. (This also goes for kids with hearing aids/cochlear implants.) When he talked about his hearing I thought this would be the absolute worst setting to be in: the whispering, the mouth blocking, the loud groups, 100 conversations happening at once, the ambient noises, the very language-heavy environment. Ugh, I feel bad for him. I hope the others can turn things around to be more intentionally inclusive.

    School psychologist here; I agree wholeheartedly. Matt mentioned yesterday that it has been much harder in there than he anticipated and that production is learning along with him about what accommodations he may need, especially for the comps. He is doing an excellent job adapting so far and has likely grown up learning to self-advocate for his needs but we still see how much constant effort he has to put in just to access the same environment as others, not to mention educate the others about his abilities. Must be exhausting on top of/ while trying to navigate the game.

    I think cirie has a flaw to her game named izzy. Once mom and son were known to izzy she holds a power over them that she would without a doubt barter for her own safety.

  • @Renwick_Davis
    @Renwick_Davis10 ай бұрын

    I’m running on pure cracked energy. These players are constantly gaming. It’s been five days and we can already see why Cirie is so deadly in Survivor. She has an amazing ability to get strong allies in a short amount of time. She has created a strong unit of soldiers ready to do battle for her and even the other side doesn’t want her gone anytime soon. If this were Survivor, she would be in a primo spot. She still is, but the HoH component is what complicates the game for her. She has pure numbers and even outside numbers to give her all the power, but one wrong HoH could begin to topple her queendom. I think she has some room to maneuver even if the other side wins and she has seemingly gotten a slim majority to fight for her in the HoH. Another thing that I like from Cirie is that she gets paranoid, but never shows that to her enemies. She keeps it contained to her allies (which is not the best, but manageable). She never let her paranoia affect her game with Reilly. I like that she can play out all the scenarios, take them seriously, and even control her paranoia for the most part when thinking of the worst case scenario. Paranoia is fine if it doesn’t become public.

    Son in his 30’s. As a teacher I learned. Hearing aides don’t “fix” hearing like glasses “fix” sight. Son says the same. Hearing is exhausting. It’s not their “norm”. (Also. High frequency hearing loss includes quite a few sounds. Like s, f, -ed…etc… even with aides they will never hear high frequency sounds)

    Cory with Hisam is experiencing what I call, for a desperate want of another name, the 1% Rule -- the strange phenomena that some might experience wherein some one they meet just does not like them for no particular reason. It is not about who you are, what you are, what you did or did not do, your voice or how you speak, nor affiliation or what have you. There exist that one person who for no reason at all does not like you. And there is very little you can do the change them.
