@@Terraqueo22 It's intriguing because this will also cover some stuffs about Faeries. You know the non-sensical gap they created by making Luka, who is nothing more than some persistent guy with accidentally keen detective sense we all know of (or me at least) is a Fairy?

Never thought Bayonetta as a franchise could pull off wholesome and adorable but I’m glad to be wrong.

They teased it with the special storybook you can open after beating Bayonetta 3, it opens up with this Cereza but ends after you do a couple puzzles and before anything can really happen.

For those confused after finishing the third game, this prequel story takes place before MAJOR SPOILERS the main Bayonettas you control in the mainline trilogy split their universe into three. The three main Bayos shared the same origin and early chilhood, until they caused paradoxes with their time travelling magic, during the night of the Witch Hunts. This toddler Cereza is going to grow and become the 3 Bayonettas you control in the 3 main games.

@@drakofox1362 Seems like vicious Fae are training targets for trainee witches possibly. Would make a little sense since they probably originated from the World of Chaos and are not artificial like the Homunculi. And imagine this is the point where one witch splits into 3 different destinies.

I WAS planning on getting introduced to the world of Bayonetta by planning the very first game but now I'm considering seeing how it all began.

I would suggest that if you have the chance, you play the games in order of release (1, 2, 3 and then this one) 'cause bayo 3 doesn't directly follow the first 2 games storyline, this game looks like a prequel to what happens in bayo 3, I know it sounds confusing but I don't want to spoil to much about the actual story of the games

@@xana3961 contrary to the *twist* in 3, the events in 2 clearly reference the events in 1, same with 3. The "twist" to avoid spoilers is mainly cosmetic in what Bayonetta looks like and how powerful she gets possibly, not necessarily changing any events between the games.

I knew that secret level was leading to this! No way would platinum make that gameplay and artstyle just for a single level

@@creativeusername7951 After you clear Bayo 3, you can return to several of the sections in Ginnungagap to collect 3 little keys to open the Old Picture Book you can buy from Rodin. You get what seems to be the prologue and teaser for this game :)

@@bennyhana97 Pretty sure those keys are always there, not just after beating it. But the final one is gotten near the end of the game, with 1 more chapter after that (which is basically just bosses).

Adorable. More Bayonetta is always a good thing.

My heart. Its no mainline game, but I wanna see how Bayonetta 0 happened and the story behind cheshire. Instead of Demons, its about Faeries and it seems we have some background as to how Bayo becomes a witch. Also... white wolf? Balder...? Kinda gives me an Okami vibe with the style.

I don't know what a bayonetta is but this game looks incredibly stylized. The colors and environment are absolutely beautiful and I hope good things happen with this!

@@ashleyyoung796first 2 will always have a special place in my heart. 3rd one was ok not bad but definitely some down falls, only improvement is gameplay. I’m hoping the bayonetta origins can make up for the lack of story and poor character development/shipping in bayonetta 3.

@@ashleyyoung796 don’t worry, as much as the story might disappoint you, the gameplay is oddly addictive (plus you get to play a sneak peak/demo of Bayonetta Origins). But I am still disappointed because I love the bayonetta series for it’s story/lore. If you brought the special edition, then I suppose it might put a brighter smile on your face because you’d get a cool artbook of Bayonetta 3 but then again you are paying extra for that. But for a doodling nerd like me, I was happy with the book alone :)

I am definitely getting this game, I love Bayonetta.

I like the storybook artstyle this has. This could be interesting.

I saw somebody in the comments of another video say this was going to be shown at the Game Awards. I thought it was some stupid joke, but it is real. It looks great, even though it doesn't seem to be my cup of tea. I think it is awesome that picture book in Bayonetta 3 is getting its own game in a way.

I'm so happy they are keeping the franchise alive I love Bayonetta and I hope they make more games with her in it.

Cereza's VA is SO GOOD

I respect that they really went in a new direction with this game both in terms of the gameplay and art style, I can tell it's something they really wanted to make!

The narrator sounds like the umbran elder that yells “THE SHADOW REMAINS CASTS” when you continue after you die

I freaking love top down/isometric games so this is absolutely awesome. Honestly more jacked for this than bayo 3 - this looks like a completely fresh take on the franchise (if done right of course)

Okay. I KNEW that secret chapter was alluding to something. I didn’t think I’d get to see what it was so soon. Unlike a lot of people, I really made an honest attempt to piece together what was going on in 3 and REALLY understand what it meant for the series as a whole, and ended up liking it a _lot,_ so i’m hyped to see what this ends up being.

Bayonetta is so alive this year.

The art direction reminds me so much of Ookami which Hideki Kamiya also directed.

Don’t think I’ve ever played this style of game before. Will be fun to check out.

This is the best looking picturebook style game I've seen.

Dont forget the director (Hideki Kamiya) of Bayonetta also directed Okami, so this makes perfect sense.

tbh ive never played bayonetta before- the style of the first game just never seemed my thing, but this looks BEAUTIFUL and man i gotta try it

The tone and atmosphere are totally different from the mainline games, it makes you doubt that this upcoming game takes place in the same universe. I ain't complaining, I'm very excited!

It takes place in Avalon Forest, which is some weird distant pocket of the multiverse where the fae live based off of this trailer and what little information that 3 gave on Faeries through Lukaon

Friend, i burned down Reddit because of the Bayonetta community, it was the last drop its incredibly toxic over there. The Helena Taylor thing opened my eyes to that community, they said so many bigoted things towards Kamiya and Hennifer Hale 😞and the mods didn’t cared, i would only feel uncomfortable posting there,knowing what those "fans" writte. fortunately it should be a minority and i think the new prequel looks wonderful! we are really lucky to have it

( although I wouldnt go as far as leaving the subreddit- mostly cuz its my main source of information about the franchise) I think they have chilled a bit. But I was also never big on the VA conflict and mostly avoided it. so thats maybe why im still ok with the community. buuut community bad or community good, we are nonetheless *blessed* with this new amazing- looking bayonetta game and i can only wish you to have a good time playing it when it finally comes out. :D
