Bayon Temple Layout & History
Bayon temple is located in the middle of Angkor Thom compound has distance 1.5km from each 5 gates and 3km on the north of Angkor temple. This patrimony was built by King Jayavarman VII from the end of the 12th century to the beginning of the 13th century dedicated to Mahayana Buddhism as well as to unify the two religion followers together to live under a single ruler after the Khmer empire took control by the Cham.
The king Jayavaraman VII is considered as the greatest King of Khmer dynasty by many historians, he was a prince of King Thorinandravarman and queen Judimonydevy, crowned the throne in 1181 after he drove the Cham back out from the capital and lost out from the kingdom around 1218 without any traces and nobody knows where and how the King died got posthumous name Mahabharama Saikata In his reign there were many temples had been built like Bayon, Banteay Kdey, Ta Phrom, Ta Ney, Phreh Khan, Neak Puan, krol Koh, Ta som, Banteay Chhmar in Banteay Meanchey province, Wat Nokor in Kom Pongcham province and Ta Phrom Baty in Takeo province honored to the Mahayana Buddhism. Compromised to the internal and external commercial sector, the king had constructed the infrastructures like roads, bridges and rest houses through all over the kingdom moreover, the health care system was also created and open to heal free of charge, especially, the cast system was demolished everybody lived in equality. Even though the king had changed the religion from Hinduism to Buddhism but the priests and Brahmins they still had power and worked with the Buddhist people in the palace smoothly. Under the reign of king Jayavarman VII the Khmer populace lived in peace, harmony and prosperous.

deceive the world, the truth is In the case of Thailand being the creator of many original arts and knowledge If talking about counting numbers, Thai people count numbers in Thai style. If Khmer really gave birth Why is the number counting like Thai people? Thai language is a Tai Kadai language family. Why does Khmer count with Thai words (Tai Kadai) and not Khmer? Many things prove that ancient Siam, such as the Lawo Kingdom, born before angkor wat King of Siam from the Land of Lawo traveled to rule and founded Angkor Wat which is the art and culture of ancient India Lawo people speak an ancient Thai language called Tai Kadai language. and spoke the king's words which were spread by India to Siam If Khmer can't answer the question, it means Thailand is the origin of civilization.
Hello bong! I went to visit the Bayon awhile back and the statue at 7:53 caught my attention. Who or what does that statue represent. Is it a god? Or a past king? Let me know if you ever get to read this comment. Thank you!

The statue that seated at the first level west entrance of Bayon temple is not a god, because the statue got humpback and we have found an other one in Ta phrom temple also at the west entrance which is the sign of death and fading. Some parts of Bayon temple were constructed by king JayavarmanVIII, the religion switched back to Hinduism. Obviously, the face and hair knot Of the image is just the same to the king JayavarmanVII.

It's can be presumed that the statue was constructed in the reign of king JayavarmanVIII reviels about the curse of the king JayavarmanVII switching religion and slaying a dragon that why he had humpback, the legend is associated to the carving in the third level vestibule, right handside of the east door.

This telling the world Thailand stole Khmer culture and land and reclaimed as Thailand culture and language. Even KZread Thai old generation had admitted borrowing or stealing if you would like to put it this way, stealing Khmer language. Please justify that? Khmer is the original, Thai has no culture. You guys are stealing from everyone and looking down at your neighbors, what kind of human being are you people. Looks at your people KZread has your feet stepping on Khmer king and feet's on Khmer flag too. Khmer people never do such a disrespectful thing. Even Khmer people that went to work im Thailand you guys are abusing them too. Please answer that?

@@neoflynow1130 apparently, you don't know jacksh*t when it comes to history. I'm Khmer and I probably know Thai history more than you! Before saying Khmers deceive the world, you should look at your history! Khmer history started since the heyday of Funan (68 CE -550 CE, 1st century CE. Lavo was inhabited by the Mon and the kingdom was later came under Chenla (another Khmer kingdom succeeding Funan. Your Tai Kadai ancestors were still in China. It wasn't until 12th and 13th century when your Tai ancestors migrated down from China. The Khmer Empire was founded Jayavarman II who grew up in Java. He united the Water and Land Chenla kingdoms to formed the Khmer Empire which lasted until 1431. Without the Khmers your language and writing would be close to some Chinese language. Khmers gave you Thais numbers and writing systems!!! Go read about the Khmer Empire and how it had influenced on your Thai culture!!!
