While this doesn't look as chaotic and confusing as most speedruns do, it's still SO INCREDIBLY SMOOTH AND SATISFYING, i could watch you breeze through these levels for hours on end :0

This is some godly gameplay

The pig skip in finale 1 is absolutely insane

the behemoth is the only company that would make me buy a smash them up, platformer, and an turn based combat game just cause of the company, they are amazing at making good games with a lot of funny stuff

This is godly smooth, I just got the game a few hours ago and I finished the first chapter a lil bit ago. You finished first chapter by minute 8😊

Thanks dude! I don’t really play much now, sadly. If you haven’t checked out Starcoin’s runs, I’d highly recommend you do. He’s beaten almost all my records and is a total wizard at this game.

This is an insane run I will one day try to speedrun battleblcok theater it's a really fun game and has really good music keep up the great runs :D

Hey, thanks! Main reason is that I lost motivation to keep running. It's a pretty punishing category, and while there are still a few minutes of improvement left, I've moved onto other games for the time being. Might see an improvement one day, but I can't say when that will be.

That's a really specific kind of boost that only works when a fan is nearby. If you're fully against a wall and shoot when you come into contact with it, you'll get shot up instead of getting knocked back. If you'd like to try it out, stand on the ledge, walk off, line up, jump, and then shoot right when you're falling down. It should work.

As for the other places I boost, you have to jump and then shoot a force ball on the very next frame. It's pretty tricky to get the hang of, but if you can form muscle memory for the inputs you'll have a much easier time. This can only be done if you're playing locally and with a stable framerate, which might be important to note.

This speedrun was performed on the Steam version, which released a while after the console version and features a few improvements. One of those is having two weapon slots to choose from. If you go to chapter 7, you'll see me change weapons frequently and can see that there are two slots on the bottom. There's a dedicated "weapon swap" button the steam version has that allows you to switch between them without having to navigate through the pause menu every time.

Honestly? Staying motivated. I know that's kind of a cop-out because it's not strictly pertinent to speedrunning, but keeping that urge to improve stoked is SO important.

If you’re holding grab for one frame and turn around just before you reach a railing, it makes you jump. I have no idea how or why this happens, though.

How do u get 2 weapons at once

By playing on the steam PC version! It’s slightly updated from the original Xbox 360 release. You can set two weapons in the pause menu. If you navigate to chapter 7 in this video, you’ll see my change weapons a few times if you want to see what it looks like. Those green arrows circling above my head indicate that I’m switching between my two weapons of choice.

Weapons are stored in your steam inventory, which would be an absolute pain to empty/unlock and would introduce a rather nasty RNG factor on top of an already intermediate level of randomness. Same thing with console - there’s no way to do this from within the game. You’d have to wipe your save data externally by mucking about with your files. There is a weaponless category, however.

How do you do that skip at 1:20:10

If you jump and throw a force ball on the next frame, you'll do a really big boost. If you're farther away from a wall, the boost will be smaller. In order to set the small boost up, walk into the wall on the floor. Stop moving, then jump, and then on your second jump, do the boost inputs (jump->weapon).

Ice is super powerful in this game. Using the force ball like this lets you reach the highest speeds possible, enough to go straight through blocks ^^

Yes! When you spawn into a level, you have around a second before the game allows you to get hurt. You can see the same thing happening at 16:40.
