Greatest rivalry in strongman history. If not greatest rivalry in all sports. In most sports when you compare the two G.O.A.T.s you can only speculate because they didn’t compete in the same era. These two went head to head so many times and were always so close. It’s not only impressive how much they pushed each other it’s amazing how much they pushed the sport. Because of these two professional strongmen today can have careers more like Brian and less like Zydrunas and still be financially well off. I don’t care which one is your favorite they are both the GOATs.

I'm sure the real reason they do it is because its more flashy to have the person who wins the last event be the winner. Kind of anti climactic to have someone win the event then lose overall. The only time I've ever heard you mention Radzikowski, was something about him being a cheerful, funny guy behind the scenes. I never understood why Brian didn't up his overhead game. He has some massive levers as shoulders. You would think that he would be in some of the 210+ kg categories such as axle clean and log lift! he does the Cyr dumbbell so well, but he is par for the course in most overhead events!

In my oppinion: Atlas stone: Brian Yoke walk: Brian Farmers Walk: Brian Apollon axle: Big Z Log lift: Big Z Circus dumbell: Big Z Squat: Big Z Throw: Brian Truck pulls: equal, slightly Brian Deadlifts: equal, slightly Big Z Resistance: equal So it is very hard....Big Z was a little stronger static. And maybe a little balanced. Both of them was awesome.

I have always hated the emphasis on the stones. It’s honestly made me resent them to a certain degree. Jon Pall in ‘88, Magnus in 1994, and Phil Pfister in ‘06 were some of the most memorable for me and all of those were before the whole Double Points, Stone Off etc etc Stone bullshit was implemented. I think it cheapens the sport.

And after that review, I imagine he will be.....come on Liz, altogether now....Very Happy! Interesting to see how many tournaments Mariusz did also, because I think now strongman fans are more conscious of the split and a lot of the talent were performing in IFSA he gets written off too easily. Let's not forget by how many points he beat his opposition while he was the WSM. And also, if the other guys thought they could beat him. Simple, turn up and do it.

I know they're both so good that neither is definitively better than the other buuuuuut my heart has to go with Z! For me, it's the fact that he broke so many records, the fact that he was such a static monster, the fact that he could have won even more WSM titles if he had competed more during the Pudzianowski era, the sheer number of titles he won, the fact that he didn't start losing to Brian until he was arguably past his prime, and the fact that he was such a dominant force at the Arnolds (which is just such a heavy and brutal competition)!

It is crazy to think Zydrunas always on the podium on most comps, either he wins it or not. And if he's not win he'll ended up in the 2nd mostly or 3rd place the least while others struggle so freakin hard to get the 5th or 4th place let alone the 3rd on podium xdxd. And Big Z still competing till now since his career in 1996, what a beast of longevity.
