Octavian spent all of these battles sitting back in a tent. He was well known for his distaste in military matters and it was something his troops often made fun of (hiding away in a tent while everyone else fought). He basically just lucked out in the consuls dyeing. And later in surviving numerous events to luck Octavian was willing to take bold actions, but overwhelmingly depended on others to actually succeed, e.g. his first attempt to seize roam was idiotic at best while his second attempt depended on dumb luck granting him a large army. This general trend would mostly continue for the rest of his life, with his ultimate success depending on genius' like Agrippa coupled with insane luck more than anything. Honestly I often feel like Agrippa must have been the gods being "we are tired of having to constantly intervene so we are just going to give you Mars incarnate"....

This is clearly propaganda instigated by Octavian himself

@@eldorados_lost_searcher Possibly yeah. We shouldn't forget that Octavian likely had a strong bodyguard of very experienced troops, it isn't impossible he was in the thick of the fight, while being sceened from the enemies by his guards. Giving the appearance he was fighting without actually having to fight someone. This would also give more possible credence to him having held the standard for some time, if he didn't need to fight, he had his hands free to hold it.

That's because he was right. Octavian hated warfare and was bad in it. He never loved marches, camp life and he lacked bravery on the battlefield. Mark Antony was the very opposite of that and he loved everything mentioned above. However, Octavian was smart and wise and knew what he was good at and what he wasn't. He allowed his Generals to do their job commanding the army and he did his job of strategizing, administering and using propaganda like a God. When you see Octavian marching, you actually see his Generals like Agrippa who was commanding the Octavian's army.

Plus, Anthony may have lost twice, but it wasnt through lack of bravery. He commanded well, and withdrew in good order the 2nd time because he didnt have enough numbers. Octavian was a sickly nerd in his childhood, and never became a soldier. While Ceasers assassins specifically distracted Anthony so he couldnt defend Ceaser cuz he was a notable fighter. Octavian was a genius like his adoptive Father. But he wasnt a fighter and he knew it, so he lead from the rear. A smart move for him, since he could command better from there. But something viewed as cowardly by other Roman's who valued leading from the front

There needs to be better communication between the script writer/narrator and the video editor. Decimus Brutus' troops were besieged by Marc Antony. It thus makes NO sense whatsoever to have them come out of the city looking the same color as Antony's troops (Red) and have them attack the relieving forces of Hirtius (Blue) when according to the narrator they were going for Antony's Camp. (Note that the Legion's flag over the town is in the right Blue color to begin with...) It's not the first time I've seen a disconnect between narration and visuals. Other than that keep up the great work, one of my favorite channels on KZread by far!

Well, the scriptwriter, video editor, graphics designer is primarily me (one person). What you point out was a silly mistake that I've made during the animation process, which I've failed to catch in the post-processing. @@hocestbellumchannel In that case I can only applaud you for the work you do. I only mentioned this because I've seen it happen a couple of times over the years that I've been watching your stuff. I never imagined this was (mostly) a one-man-show. Congratulations once more and keep up the great work. I'm a big, big fan! :)
