I love what you do. I have the 66 and 89 on the way, BECAUSE, the accuracy and attention to detail is unreal…scrap this future 5’ desk and do the 97’. What’s the point of doing what you do, if you’re trying to make up the interior, make up the engine details, make up seatbelts even!! Impossible to please 500 people’s imagination.

I’m a huge BTAS fan and I will buy this. I’ve already purchased the 66 Batmobile and 89 Batwing. So you have my vote.

Who would have guessed this would be your greatest challenge..Trying to work out how to make a Batman Animated car 🙂🙂

I'm not part of that group, personally I would have voted on the Arkham Knight Batmobile. The BTAS car is very simple, so at a 1500 pricepoint it's a tough sell regardless of the design details... tricky to arrive at a happy medium that will please enough fans to get enough orders in.

I feel terrible for you Joost. There's nothing you can possibly do in this scenario that will appease everyone. If you go through with this vehicle, I'm sure whatever you decide would be great but I wouldn't do another animated vehicle. There's way too much variation.

The 97 Batmobile makes the most sense in this scenario and I would 100% buy it.

The bluish hue I think would make it most accurate, don't care how big it is. I don't really care about the price personally. If it's BTAS I'm getting it 100 percent. The gadgets from the show would be nice and to be able to look at the engine. Being able to fit the mondo figures would be amazing. I really hope you make this. I'm not to keen on making it realistic, I prefer more show accurate. Love your work, my vote is yes!

There is a huge market for 1/12 scale. I’d go for a more realistic design, but not too far…it’s a careful balance. Having exchangeable parts for cartoon vs realism might be a good way to go about it.

The 89’ and 95’ are incredible looking cars, but I do have a soft for the 97’

I think that we should stay with the animated version. DC collectibles one is a beautiful piece. But we can’t do one that’s 5 feet. My shelf isn’t big enough 😂. I hope we stick with this one and get the details ironed out cuz it will probably be the nicest one yet

Arkham Batmobile in 1/6. You can do the Animated version in 1/12.

I think most people want to see this done but very few would actually want it or more importantly have space for it

Love the animated series option. But with lack of a defind cockpit I would want to see alot of the arsenal included. I prefer the black matte, and a more current design (since as you pointed out there are about 7-10 different designs that appeared in the cartoon) . The biggest hiccup is the 5 feet. I mean thats only 2 feet smaller than a Prius!

I’d say a 1/12 version would be a fair compromise.

I’m very late but I agree. Mcfarlane has rereleased one but one that fits his dc multiverse animated batman would be good with a bit of the realistic design

I don't do social media, so I was unaware of the poll, but my input would be to make the actual Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile (in matte black)... not the supped up one... and scale it back to a size that's compatible with the others you've done so it will still fit comfortably inside a ModuCase, while keeping it a two seater. I own the 1:12 scale DC Direct version and it's beautiful. Upscale that to fit the Mondo figures at the same price point as the previous releases and I'm in. That's my third favorite Batmobile design ('66, '89, B:TAS) with the Tumbler coming in a distant fourth, because it doesn't look like a Batmobile to me, but it's still cool. Also, can I put in a request for you to produce Speed Racer's Mach 5 (with all the steering wheel's button features activated by remote) someday, and Mad Max's Interceptors from Mad Max and The Road Warrior? I'd buy all three of those in a heartbeat!

If you make it realistic you alienate all the people with 1/6th scale figures by Mondo. and all the animated purist. I love BTAS and I personally don't want the 97 ... but I think you should just make the 97. I think it fits with Jazz a lot more then BTAS and the BATS is just a dumpster fire with everything being so divided. I wish you luck on this one its not going to be easy.

If you do the BTAS Batmobile: I think the look should be faithful to the look of the show. That’s what Jazzinc does. The scale doesn’t have to be perfect, bc there is no perfect scale since the size was somewhat inconsistent during the life of the series. Just do the paint job where the blue hue comes out in the light. The matte paint jobs that you see on other interpretations is merely common, and it’s what makes it accessible and cheap. Nice, but worth exactly what you paid for it. We’re not going for cheap. That’s not what Jazzinc does. If I wanted something inexpensive, then I’d just buy a basic, toy batmobile. No, people are learning to come to you because you make things in amazing detail that they didn’t think was possible. I’m a lifelong Batman fan but I don’t consider myself a collector (anymore). I don’t buy collectibles for myself; I have kids to take care of. Then one day, I saw what you did with the 2022 batmobile. I’m not even a fan of that movie but, holy crap, I bought it without thinking. I didn’t even know I wanted it until I saw what you did. I’m now making payments on the 89 Batmobile because, holy crap, it’s BEAUTIFUL. My point is: make it beautiful. Don’t make it cheap. Anyone can do that. You’re not Hotwheels or Hasbro or Mattel. If possible, at least show us a 3d print of what it COULD be if you were faithful and then added Jazzinc’s loving touch. If you do that, I bet the size will matter less. Yup, 5 feet sounds ridiculous. But you know what? Spending $1500 (plus shipping) on that 2022 Batmobile used to sound ridiculous to me too…until I saw how you brought it to life. Don’t worry too much about fans saying that storage space is an issue. It’s ALWAYS an issue if you’re a collector. And if you need to scale down for production reasons, that’s fine. But don’t make a hybrid that consists of 6 parts animated and 4 parts reality. That’s just an experiment. It would look cool, but it won’t have any meaning to anyone. Make a faithful, lovingly reproduced BTAS Batmobile as it was meant to appear on the show. That will have meaning for collectors bc it will tie together nostalgia, fantasy brought to reality, cultural significance and bat-mythology. That’s what I’ve learned to come to Jazzinc for. Sorry this is so long (like, seriously, VERY sorry) but in the end I guess what I’m saying is: I don’t want you to do what I merely want; and I don’t want you to simply make what the folks at Jazzinc want. I want you to take the BTAS Batmobile and do what Jazzinc DOES. And if for some reason that’s not possible, then ditch the idea. I don’t want a half-assed Batmobile from Jazzinc. Side note: I do market research. Let me know if you need a survey designed to that assess which components are most vs. least important to be included in a BTAS Batmobile.

Got a feeling this will be a non-starter Joost. Too many variables and too much risk. Think the ‘97 is the way to go! 👍🏼

I would love it if you made a smaller, more manageable scale Batwing. I've pre-ordered the 89 Batmobile, but the the size of the Batwing scared me off. I promise a smaller scale would absolutely sell.

Joost give it your best shot. You have a proven track record of success. It will be great I'm sure and looking forward to seeing the naysayers sign up for the waitlist

Cartoons are hard because some angles will be warped similar to lens distortion in real life. The key thing is just do what you like if I learn anything as a collector and toy companies it's like you can't listen to the fans they don't know what they want for the most part. They say they want something but they don't realize how much it actually cost. So I would say just keep it simple through the base model close to the cartoon. And see if there's a way to add on some of the gimmicks from the show not all of them. And then see if there's certain parts like the center of the body or sides that can be swappable with the more detailed look you had on Facebook. And then see how it budgets out and how many people are interested. The 300 people from the pole is not enough to run the production anyway so at the end of the day it depends on the majority of your customers

I think the only viable option is to put each of those choices for the Animated Series up for A/B voting. It's kind of doubtful that too many people will sit on their wallets because one or two aspects aren't quite what they wanted.

The people have voted for the cartoon Batmobile ... Its gonna be a big build..but worth it. Yeah! 👍

Man I need 97 batmobile

I would be very surprised if you get enough orders to make this happen. There's just not enough collectors on the animated/cartoon side that would be willing to spend that kind of money. Even spending $750 would be a difficult decision. Stick with the movie vehicles and maybe start purchasing licenses to branch out in other areas. We've been asking for the KIIT car from Knight Rider.... LET'S GOOOO!

I've always thought the BTAS batmobile is incredibly cool, but that is within the animated context of BTAS itself where you can get away with a bit of creative licence. Quite a lot of the time the car is shown from above and infront, which I think exaggerates the length and swept back look of it but when you think about the size of the cockpit versus it's overall length and width... The proportions don't translate that well to a scale model. Have you thought about doing the original Arkham Asylum batmobile? I'm surprised that wasn't included in the vote. I think people like it in particular as it's a really nice amalgamation of previous batmobiles, most notably the BTAS and 1989 cars. I'm not sure if it's as loved within the Batman enthusiast community overall as much as it is in the Batman *gaming* community e.g. Arkham Asylum/ City/ Knight fans, but would be really cool to see a scale model of it.

For me a Classic style and all features in terme of gadget would be very good compromise. The basic style could be compensate with a lot of gadget and functions. It’s gonna be great!🎉🎉🎉

If this gets greenlit, I predict an incredible amount of foot pain from the tap dancing from the collector community. There is no safe way to please even a tiny majority that would purchase this, there will be constant complaints and issues being brought up on the direction causing huge division and controversy within the community, with no comfort of an escape clause to fall back on "...But this is true to real specs."

They do have the option in not buying it. Collectors talk a good game but if they hate being left out not having something that is rare. Build it and they will come.

I’m down for the animated at a reasonable size. I’m more interested in re-releases of the Keaton and Kilmer Batmobiles. I’m new to this company and missed out.

OMG ! This i quiet some Undertaking. In the animated Series the Dimensions and Proportions differ from Episode to Episode, and some times even from Sene to Scene. Making Compromises in the right Spots is the only Chance. I do own a Copy of the DC-Collectable and i think they made a good Job. And it is BIG! Cant imagine how big a 1/6 version would be!

Say what you guys want. The Arkham Knight looks fkinginsane. It would be the most badass one if you put all the Batmobiles side by side!

Scan the DC Collectible Batmobile with a professional LiDAR Scanner and make a sample! We want to see the piece even if it is a basic sample to compare it near the original DC collectible to see the size! 😊

I would suggest completing the movie line first which means 97 Batmobile next.

The cartoon one, IMO, will look more cartoon years down the road. Five ft. is too much for me but if it's normal size and modern I am a day one pre order guy. Aside from the 95 I like them all. For batman I would favor The Bat or the 66 boat to complete 66.

Original Animated batmobile all the way

ANIMATED! BUT we need a good animated Batman figure….though I like mondos skeletor and he man figures and the battle cat and panthor….not really fond of the Batman animated figure they made. Cel shading isn’t ideal for me, and the proportions aren’t the best. Personally I don’t need it to be 5’… It can be a step closer to the animated series look IF you go one seater, so you can make it narrower and have better proportions vs if you made it a two seater with a narrow, but VERY LONG chassis. I like the look in the opening of the show with the fully rendered Batmobile… I am cool with black, with the same iridescent blue, that was used in theb89 Batmobile. Often times Blue is used to depict highlights in black hair, clothing objects in comic books and cartoons. But I’ll bite . The only features I expect are light up headlights, cockpit dash displays, tail lights and rear flame exhaust ….wheel shredders, opening hood Maybe a nod to the Kenner toy somehow, but the proportions of the Kenner Batmobile from the animated series is nice. Not the scale in relation to the figure….might be too big, if I’m remembering correctly.

Maybe You must use navi metalic paint.

My vote would be to not alter the design of the animated batmobile, but just apply real world details like tires, bolts, panel lines, rivets, headlights, grills, etc. Maintain the sleek, exaggerated aesthetic of the cartoon, with the real world sensibilities in the details. Keep up the great work and I hope you’ll dip your toes back into 1/12th one day. The Justice League Batmobile rocks

So the problem is, as you said, all the batmobiles youve done so far have existed in the real world. With an animation studio you have multiple artists working on different scenes for every episode. The issue there, is every artist will draw things a little differently from every other artist on the same project. My point is this, trying to translate that into a physical thing will NOT turn out the way EVERY fan thinks it will. One of the reasons the studio wanted to make the series in the first place was it was coming off the heels of the Burton films. I would start by using your 89 measurements and then finding a balance between designs for the different references. As far as making it more realistic I would say that's ok to an extent. I think the image you showed for a possible look, felt a little too busy. It doesn't need alot of extra detail. Sometimes less can be more. Hope that helps a little.

Joost, I think you need to pull the pin on this entire project & focus on something else. This project is dividing the fans too much & will just end up giving you a massive headache.

I really don't think it's necessary this car. It is a very "flat" very simple vehicle that can be easily designed without much difficulty and send to print. In addition, brands like DC Collectibles made 2 versions of the vehicle that are really good and cheap (less than $200) and with leds and open different gadgets and cabin and still being produced.

Joost what about 1/12 the batman batmobile?

Design: I think you should 100% go cartoon accurate. That realistic variant is cool looking but not true to the spirit of the source material. Yes, it would fit in more with the live-action Batmobiles you've made but this isn't a live-action Batmobile. The minimalist art deco inspired Bruce Timm design is part of the car's character. Plus, if you have the Mondo figures, it's certainly going to be an odd match. Don't worry, the real-world parts of the car like the tires, wheels, grill, headers, turbine, etc. will help sell it as being more than a plastic toy. Length/Size: I realize this is perhaps the biggest source of frustration as there's no definitive dimensions of the car as we see it throughout the series. Rather than see this as an obstacle, you should see it as a blessing. This gives you massive room for interpretation. I don't believe you _have_ to make it 5 feet or even close. As long as you capture the basic lines and proportions of the car to where it looks 'right', it should look good even at a shorter length. There are shots in the show where the cockpit looked impossible for Batman and Robin to fit into. I don't think anyone can fault you for making ergonomical concessions here. Paint: This is where the car can really shine. Being that it's such a simple design, a good paint application can really make it stand out. You mentioned the '89's paint and the different hues that appeared in it. A similar satin paint that has a blueish hue could look fantastic. Definitely better than a simple matte black. Again, you have room for interpretation. The same can be done in regard to the other parts of car that I mentioned before. That's where I think you should focus rather than trying to make the car "realistic". Accessories are always nice so long as you don't have to compromise on aesthetics. Price: Well, this is something I can't really comment on without knowing the production costs. $1,500 might be a harder sell for what some may regard as a more basic design. Only thing I would say is don't go forward even if you have the slightest hint that there isn't enough interest. Joost, this is one of those cases where you're not going to be able to satisfy everybody. If you try to, you'll end up satisfying no one. Make a rendering, put it out there, and if there aren't enough people interested, just move on to the '97. Good luck and keep up the great work.

ARKHAM!!! If you can make an Animated Batmobile, at almost 5 feet long or a little longer than that. Why couldn’t we get the Arkham version? That’s a vehicle you don’t have to worry about making real/animated in style.

I’m 100% out. I didn’t vote and never been interested in anything other than the ‘89 which I’m already getting.

I just want a straight animation translation no matter the price or size, Anything else is an easy pass. Again, this version is not supposed to be realistic, it's art, animation, from a fantastical world. This time around it should be for the Animated fans as there are plenty of "realistic" cars still to make. Also, consider contacting the action figure staff at Mondo, maybe they can provide insight or assets that can guide how this vehicle is developed. Thank you.

I think 5 feet is just too big

I can't see collectors spending on an animated version. I LOVE that car but nope, 5 to 6 feet is a no go imo. Put their resources into a batcopter or a Bike and sidecar from 66 or better yet, look at an A-Team Van, or Kitt from Knight Rider(Which is probably the biggest grail of all). I know you want to honor a poll, but that project perhaps needs to be put in the back burner imo. I don't think sometimes popel understand scale also. I remember NECA talking about 1/10 vehicles and people mentioned a DeathStar or a Millennium Falcon. They don't understand how big something like that really will be.

I think the realistic version of the animated batmobile is a good idea. Maybe it can be adapted to the 1989 batmobile size, to put it in the same ballpark money wise. It will be matter of sketching designs to see if it looks good. Breaking some of the large flat surfaces with panel lines will help. Some small detail can be added around the back where the jet nozzle is. I work as a visual designer in the film industry, This is a very interesting and tricky challenge.

Cartoons aren't real.. if you went over the toon I'd prolly find 82 variations of this vehicle. I don't have a dog in this race but if anyone can pull it off it's Joost!.. now can the fans pick a favorite and have the numbers to have it made?! That's gonna be tough!

I think 5 feet is a deal breaker. I struggled too with the size of the 22 which is why I didn't order it. I do love the internal engine and the cockpit in the realistic take. Taking that a step further, having a mechanics version where other parts can be exposed to show the inner workings exposing bat gadgets/weapons would be awesome similar to the XM batcycle that looks like a beast when the panels are off. I also think having a beautiful blue black paint pearlescent paint to mimic the animated series would be great. I think ditching the added hood scoop but keeping the panel lines and other subtle details that make it feel like a believable car that would blend nicely with other Jazzinc products would be the best way to go. Subtle weathering as well on wheels and from usage. 1500 for an overscaled plastic toy doesn't make sense. Having the quality of real life materials mixed with shapes of the animated series. I think if you went the realistic route you may want to also consider selling figures to match. Or at least having power posed figures that can be placed in the cockpit. Another idea would be to add some sort of display base so the Batmobile looks like its in action banking a turn but with angling the base in such a way where it increases the height of the display while cutting the length of how much space is taken up. I hope that made sense.

How about scratch that Batmobile all together?! Just make the Arkham Knight Batmobile!

I am down with either animated version 1/6 scale or even the more realistic looking version. This Batmobile won in the polls and should be made.

An animated car was never a good fit. If anything it should be a realistic take to at least fit with the other vehicles. Like what hot toys have done with clone wars line.

I vote for “Animated” style with the glossy bluish hue. You could possibly do a more realistic version for those that prefer that later down the line.

Batmobile from Batman and Robin is the way to go.

The BTAS Batmobile is beyond iconic for me. You can make it 2k and 5 ft and I'm in. Can't put 1/6 scale figures in it? Don't care. I'm in. No detailed interior? Don't care. I'm in. And to modernize it makes no sense to me. I say do it justice or don't do it at all. It will be a challenge because of the variations in the drawings over the course of the series, but as long as it's a faithful representation of the BTAS car, I'm in. Many thanks to Jazz Inc for being so collaborative.

Please dont make the animated series batmobile. In reale Form it Looks not good. I had the DC collectibels one and the Dimensions Looks not so good as in the series, the Cockpit ist mucch more wider, so that the figures fit in there and it Looks like Plastik Bomber. Please make the 1997

The 97 was universally hated. Joost will get the same low numbers for that people are claiming he will get for BTAS. Can he at least make the thing first before sabatoging it.

I'm a big fan of BTAS but don't do it. Way too many variables and no one will be happy. Stick with the Arkham or '97. I would love to see someone make the original Batmobile from the original Arkham game in either a 1:18, 1:12 or 1:6. We only have the 1:64 Hot Wheels.

@@adrianethridge4922 I don’t know if you’re looking for something with moving parts, but I think prime 1 did the Arkham knight batmobile in a pretty big scale.

@@josiahkhani3667 Thank you. Sorry I meant the original Arkham Batmobile. Hot Wheels did a Arkham Knight 1:18 and there was a cool one from SDCC that went in to tank mode. I talked to Jada and they nodded that they were but I have not seen it and it's been several years.

You ask 100 different collectors, you get 100 different answers. I think you as a company need to be decisive on what you are going to offer, and then let the collectors make the decision if they want to purchase or not. You've already done the most popular Batman vehicles. Any others from here on out will have low order numbers with very low production runs.
