Adam Savage Unboxes The Batmobile from The Batman (2022)!

Ғылым және технология

For our first unboxing of the new year, Adam and Norm open and check out the 1/6th scale Batmobile replica model from The Batman (2022)! We're gobsmacked by the intricate detail of the vehicle, from its fully decked-out interior to the monstrous engine model in the rear. The modelmakers at Jazzinc Dioramas outdid themselves this time, integrating remote controlled lights, realistic weathering, and even a working engine exhaust effect!

Lovely replica. I worked for Pierre on production where we built the actual batsuit for the film. We also built the “engine” you see in the back of the car, which is all fake. I had the pleasure of putting the weathering and damage on the real car in the bat cave aswell which was pretty awesome

@@SgtStinger so we were costume FX, but we our crew has experience with props from the Harry Potter/beasts films. So we were asked to help out with dressing of the car. We ended up doing the engine, wheel hubs and the bumpers. The incredible Corbould and his team built the cars. I believe there were 3, but yes the engine in the rear is fake. They had a full working V8 I believe in the front of one, the hero car. There was a Tesla electric one for the city night shoots. And then a “pod” car, that had a driving seat on the roof so the cabin could be filmed with Robert acting inside without the distraction of actually driving

I love this Batmobile. It has the distinct look and feel of something modified by a gadgeteer genius in secret, rather than the co-opted prototypes or one-offs that would have required more people to be involved in its construction. One of the things that bothered me with the Tumbler was that there was footage of it made public in the movies, but the US military didn't come calling on Wayne Enterprises to ask how a masked vigilante got his hands on their prototype. It's like the writers didn't understand that the military brass is regularly briefed on prototype progress so that they can request alterations to fit imagined likely deployment scenarios.

This version of the batmobile is becoming my favorite, the way it almost designed like 60's muscle car but at the same time it's very heavily modded and reinforced everywhere, in the movie when this thing starts up and all the villains just look with that face of "oh, we're screwed big time" with that almost ghostly sound, it's awesome.

That Batmobile was made by a Batman that wanted the bad guys afraid; the fear that sound puts out in that scene is incredible! it's like something screaming And Wailling And ROARING FOR YOUR BLOOD and you don't know when it's going to stop or when it will charge you ; it's the most Batman a batmobile has ever been conceptually.

There was an early suspicion that the rear engine was a triton v10 but it isn't, most probable explanation is that it is bashed in-universe from other components. A crate motor would be traceable but a frankenstein one wouldn't. Its a shell built by Dominic Touhy's team over methane tanks, with a 454 on front. The weight distribution with a plant that large in back is nightmarish, but it'd work for the chaos of a ramming prow. The jet turbine might not be an afterburner but a way to get exhaust out faster. It is no more silly than any other Batmobile and it continues to grow on me. The echoes of the Animated Batmobile are one of my favourite bits.

One day I would really like to see Adam go overseas and get a how it’s made factory tour of Hot Toys and some of the other high end 1/6 scale figure companies and now 1/12 scale. I can’t believe the detail and skill in the sculpting, painting and sewing. Whether done with today’s technology, or human mad skills I find it incredible. Even making and sourcing the materials used in creating these little works of art astounds me. Just Awesome

I love Adam, but sometimes the limits of his experience show. The torque wrench is one example, and he recently made a video where he said he thought all the crap 3D printable models on the market were not a fault of the creators, but limitations of the software. Having used all major 3D modelling programs on the market, he is 100% wrong. The software is amazing - the problem is lazy creators.

I have a bicycle with a lot of Carbon Fiber parts. There are screws that bolt on CF (epoxy) threads. Without a proper torque wrench you will strip the threads. Also, when assembling car engines, not using a torque wrench to tighten the head to the block is practically impossible. Besides new engines require the fancy torque wrenches that measure angles as well

At the time, he was a wire thin kid in his 20s. After that incident, we no longer told him to "get it as tight as you can".

Okay, if they can do this, then they can make a Mad Max "Road Warrior" Interceptor in 1/6 scale - or a Blade Runner Spinner. ;-) There must be some weird licensing issues with those two movie vehicles, as nobody ever makes them (apart from the 1/18 AutoArt or Greenlight and that 1/18 Blu-Ray version of the Spinner). But having 1/6 versions of those vehicles for the 12" figures would be incredible. I modified the 1/18 Greenlight Interceptor into a "Road Warrior" version (which involved dremeling die cast, which was a bit dicey lol).

Nice bit of kit , functional shelf queen , I have just remembered I have a few rc's that are bigger scale than my scale model vehicles one of which is a tank , working sound effects, working smoke machine for exhaust and working turret that fires bb's up to 20 meters, I need a new battery for it but otherwise like for like running tank , I need to open the original transmitter as the plug for the crystal needs soldering. I have a diecast mad max car up on the shelf that's a bit bigger than 1/24 . Cool video guys

5:06 - With Adam's history of knocking things off of tables/benches, putting that model on that box gave me all the bad feels...

Frickin awesome! And I love the ultrasonic atomizer addition, you don't have to worry about some weird chemical or something heating up to boil the water, plus using distilled water limits the worry of corrosion. I'm a big fan of the year one batmobile. It's not some ultra expensive custom made behemoth with 1000 fancy gimmicks. It's just strong, fast and will get the job done.

It is a beautiful car. This is my favorite bat mobile. The grounded design does it for me. I look forward to seeing this car change as Battinson spends more time beating the streets of Gotham! Definitely what makes Reeves world intriguing!

Even though it’s not my favorite Batmobile with Adam west’s Batmobile being my favorite I do like it a lot cause it was inspired by the 1970 Batmobile that was based off of the corvette from the comics witch is really cool in my opinion

I kinda dig how in the late '60s there was a stretch where Batman just drove ...normal cars. Like he had a Corvette and I think a Mustang at one point. They weren't super tricked out. They were just cars.

I love there work. Yes they have some quality issues. Mostly with the paint. But man I’ve never received one of the items where the box is not damaged badly and I’m a geek I love the boxes

It's not terrible. I thought there was a lot to like about it, but a lot I didn't like. I felt the action was really good. I felt the casting overall was really good. I LIKE Pattinson as Batman, I think he played the part well. And I like that this version of Batman is less "roided-out paranoid freak" and more "the world's greatest detective". Batman in this film gets to show that he's not just a big strong guy who punches people. You see him actually being smart, looking for clues and piecing together the puzzle. That said, the pacing is AWFUL. The movie is over three hours long, and it did not need to be three hours long. A decent editor could have shaved an HOUR out of the movie's runtime and lost nothing of consequence. And honestly that's my biggest complaint. There were other minor quibbles, but nothing deal-breaking. The pacing was the biggest issue for me by far.

It's really good. I think Nolan's The Dark Knight is still the best overall more modern Batman film and Burton's '89 film the most classic and stylish but the newest film rocks in its own way.

You should see it. I feel they really managed to do something new with the franchise. Personally I don't think the story is on the same level as Dark Knight, but it is still worth your time. There are some truly great scenes in it that just exemplifies Batman.

I haven't seen this movie, not a huge Batman fan, but I do love the idea of Batman having a souped up 60s-70s muscle car (looks like a modded Plymouth Barracuda to me) and it's just an incredibly badass car.
