I would have to agree this one is incredible and the best one I’ve ever seen before. The fact that nearly all the gadgets actual work is incredible. I didn’t think the guns would shoot and I was very impressed that the shoots retracted back into the car. Remarkable ingenuity. I will say for the rockets I think you could somehow incorporate a legal firework or type of flare that can shoot out. That would take that feature and the car to even a higher level. Again this is a work of art and I can’t imagine all the time and money spent to create such a vehicle. Bravo.

It does look great but remember that this kind of technology was not available in the '60s. Plus, George Barris had only three weeks to come up with car, that's why he decided to use the Lincoln Futura concept car. 👍

I grew up watching Batman, and loving cars. At 58 years old, this made me feel like that 6 year old watching the show again. Phenomenal work. I work on cars, and cannot imagine the time, labor, sweat, and funds it took to get this car at this level. All I can is WOW! I am blown away. Also love the presentation. For a moment, I was watching Batman show off his unbelievable car. James Bond would be impressed. Thank you. Well done sir!

Thank you very much! I'm glad the video took you back. It took about 9 years (8000 hours) to build, not counting paint. I mostly enjoyed building it. But, as you know, working on cars can be quite frustrating. Especially when you're trying to make reliable gadgets, some of which no one has ever done before.

​@@Batcarguy There's a late 40s Maple Leaf truck used in a James Bond & there's a rumor of a British Sunbeam Alpina car also . You can pull up "Jamaican classic car Junkyard" if you're interested in seeing the Maple Leaf Truck .

The attention to detail is off the charts. The way the gun turrets don’t just leave a hole in the door panel when active but close it up again is just gorgeous.

I agree, the door skin closes when the guns are engaged and is almost seemless looking on the door with the guns engaged. Ammo magazines and all are on the outside, of course it is done that way as not to compromise the bullet proof door!

One thing about that how do we know this version of the Batmobile had guns in it because it didn't the only Batmobile that had guns was the first one from the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton and because I saw the 1960's Batman t.v. series with Adam West and I distinctly remember those Bat symbols on the sides of the doors did not open to reveal machine guns.

THIS is by FAR the absolute BEST Batmobile i have EVER seen!! It's so incredibly beautiful, the gauges are extraordinary, and the fact that so MANY features ACTUALLY work, like... REALLY WORK!! are you kidding??? Jet turbine, flamethrower, machine gun doors, the back parachutes (and they retract back in!!!) the front cutting wheel, you REALLY made my day friend!! Beautiful, PERFECT job!!!!

Glad you liked it. There will ever only be one original 1966 Batmobile, and that one is out of my price range. So since I had to build my own, I thought I might as well build in more gadgets😏

THIS is the BEST functional reproduction of the most iconic Batmobile I have EVER seen!!! Standing ovation for this job...WELL DONE sir!!!!!

This is without a doubt the best Batmobile ever created. It’s like a newer model of the original. Absolutely fantastic!

Still my favorite Batmobile and I am so happy that this legend lives on. It is truly a work of art. The retractable chutes are insane.

I teared up and had hardcore goosebumps watching this. Absolutely incredible! I remember coming home afterschool everyday, running from the bus so I wouldn't miss Batman reruns (in the 80s). I've always been enamored by this version of the Batmobile, and your representation of it is beyond outstanding. I bet you see nothing but grins everywhere you drive that thing!

Thank you. I used to drop everything and run to the TV, too! Back then, Batman was on only at night and there was no way to record it.

The thought and engineering that's gone into this car and its effects are incredibly amazing

I thought it was a replica but you built a full function Bat mobile. This is the most awesome car ive ever seen. You are one hell of a craftsman. Wonderful job.

One of if not the coolest thing I ever saw!

I have seen many versions even the ones used in the show BUT this is way next level plus 3!!! You got me at the front blade and the turbine. NOBODY has done that and the retracting chutes. Really outstanding!!!!!

Thank you. I was the most nervous the first time I retracted the chutes. Everything else I was able to test at various stages to make sure it would work before going on the car. But the chutes were more or less all or nothing. Airflow can be pretty hard to predict behind a car, and I didn't want to screw-up the chutes, the mechanism or my paint. The scene in the videos is the first time I ever tired it with the car moving.

THIS is how the car should've been on the show, but George was under a LOT of pressure to just "make a Batmobile". I'm sure given the time he and his crew would've done a LOT more. But hey, he did a great job with what he had and made it one of the most iconic cars in the world!!

Search KZread and you will find videos of a batmobile that doesn't simulate having a turbine engine; it actually has a turbine engine. There's also a 1989 batmobile which is turbine powered.

The attention to detail in this build is absolutely phenomenal.

That is beautiful. I never realized how badass the 60's Batmobile was.

As a boy I recall having played with a friend's Batmobile and I will always remember the tongue of flame going in and out as the rear wheels turned. This should be thrown into a Batman movie for us Adam West era groupies, it is beautiful, and spectacularly made and executed. Fabulous job! A billion stars worth!

Damn! I love how something from my childhood just won't ever die. This car is so damn Iconic.

It amazes me how gifted some people are! That is an incredible level of engineering and design!

There is an old saying in the car community…”It’s all fun and games at a car show until a guy shows up with an E-Type Jaguar.” You would upstage 50 Jags! Thank for this incredible car and thank you for sharing it with us. I am a tremendous fan of this.

As someone who has seen many tragedies concerning modifications and customizations, the only tragedy here is that there's only one. Your work is some of the finest ever laid upon by human eyes. As a 7 year old kid, I bounced off the walls waiting for Batman to start on TV. I loved all things Batman and had many. Comics, colouring books, Batman ring, stickers and games. My prized possession was my Corgi Batmobile. Wish I still had it. Seeing your amazing Batmobile took me right back to those special days. Thank you!

@@LtJackboot lol - I did like the Monkees too. My Mom bought me 2 Monkee shirts and a dickie for school in about 3rd or 4th grade. If you remember them, they were the double buttoned shirts they wore. It was in the summer before school started and they were meant to be FOR SCHOOL. The Sunday before school started I begged and pleaded to wear a Monkee shirt out to see my friends. Mom finally caved but said don’t do anything to ruin it. I promised not to and out I went feeling like the shit. Walked to the end of the block and there were my buddies and one of the dad’s with a go cart. Awesome! When it was my turn to drive it, I rolled it off a curb and pretty much tore the Monkee shirt off my back and ripped a finger open along with other road rash. No helmet of course as we grew up in the great days of no safety protocol. I walked back home and when Mom saw the shirt ripped open … the only thing that saved my ass was the blood pouring out of my finger and we had to go to the hospital to get my finger stitched up haha. Well, I still had one fancy shirt for school.

I still have my Corgi Batmovil (the tires are destroyed); one of the saddest days of my childhood when I lost the little Robin on a beach (by the way, Ajijic, Mexico). Now I also have in my desk this Batmovile on a large scale, of course with Batman and Robin.

This is phenomenal and absolutely beautiful. What a fantastic job you have done.

I am 58 years old and a big fan of the original Batman series. This car is beyond incredible. I can't even begin to imagine how much work went into all the systems on this car let alone building the body. 👍👍👍

Thanks. Yeah, building all the gadgets in took considerably longer than building the basic car. There was a lot of testing along the way to make sure everything worked when it was all done.

The inside of the original Batmobile was drab and unfinished. The steering wheel was even missing the center cover but the TV show never gave you that perspective. This car, on the other hand, is incredible! I even made my wife watch this on our TV that's how incredible it is. What a wonderful job you did putting this together. Very cool.

I met Adam West and Burt Ward in 1966, Warren Michigan. They were in Detroit with the Batmobile for the Autorama, dressed in costume. I was 5 years old then and they were bigger than life to me. Something I will remember as long as I live.

That is an amazing car! It was 1966 for me all over again! I can’t wait to show this to my young grandsons!

As a kid in the sixties I've seen the original car from the series up close in person as well as many love homage builds at conventions through the decades. This car is beyond words to describe it's awesome coolness.

Lived up in the Hollywood Hills and we used to ride our bikes down to Barris Kustoms to see what was in the showroom. Seeing the Batmobile and Munster’s cars when you’re a kid was awesome.

Magnificant is the only word. If the producers of Batman in the 60's had known you they would have used your classic piece here in there show hands down.

Just absolutely amazing - and everything works! For the first time since 1966, I felt happy at seeing this version of the character again. Thanks for the time-travel!

Forget what years they were, original or not. This is the best Batmobile EVER! Period! You are truly an artist. Thank you.

The more retro, and dark, anything concerning Batman is the more authentic it is in my opinion. All the Batmobiles in the movies did justice to the Dark Knight but for me the best Batmobile was the one in this video, the same one in the mid 1960s TV show, which actually wasn't a dark portrayal of him. That's just the styling. The weapons and devices are way over the top. And with every minute I watched it became more unbelievable. Really amazing job on what you've created here Batcarguy.

I usually frown on modifications that goes against original, but what you have done is impressive. It truly keep within the spirit of the show, and if anything compliments it. I'm sure if George Barris were still around, he would be impressed!

This is incredible on way to many levels. Bruce Wayne would actually be jealous of this version of the Batmobile. Stunning work! 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The fact that everything was functional totally blew me away. The side mounted guns that fired with the top buttons on the steering wheel was amazing. Plus the rear mounted flame thrower was incredible. Tailgaters burnt to a crisp!

Bro also made Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet but he says we can't see it and I believe him.

When it was revealed that the “bat guns” worked, my jaw dropped. This is so, so rad.

HOLY upgrade Batman!! Well, just like nearly everyone posting, I too grew up glued to the TV watching Adam and Burt take on Gotham's master criminals. I also spent endless hours with my Corgi die cast Batmobile dreaming of what it would be like to drive the "real one". Congratulations. You've not only built a masterpiece, but you've created something that resonates with the hearts of big kids all over the world. Thank you!!!

@@Batcarguy You hit the nail on the head, I remember walking home from the store with my dad telling him Dad can you walk a little faster. Batman is coming on in 10 mins...He said in a few years you will move on to another hero. But as you grow older you accept things, But we all always will hold a special spot in our hearts for Adam West aka Batman.... The night Burt Ward was on Johnny Carson announcing he and wife are expecting a Bat Baby..haha true story. Funny how these things stay on your mind many years later, Be well my friend

This is the BEST 1966 Batmobile replica I have ever seen!!! Hats off to you amgio!! Even now as an adult, this car has always been the coolest car ever! Always wished I had one of my own!

No matter how much you see on KZread or elsewhere the absolute talent and determination of some people is still so impressive. Well done on turning a passion into a reality. Great job!

The attention to detail is amazing. Those small panels that fill the hole when the guns fold out is top notch. What a great build. Thank you for sharing.

That is beyond amazing. The car alone even if it did not do anything was impressive BUT your Batmobile does way more than the original ever did. You rock!

Simply amazing. I'm 68 and remember many things about the show and the car. Your version is the best that I have seen, period!!

All these years later and millions of us still love the Batmobile what a brilliant idea it was!

As a Retired Master Mechanic, I have but ONE word for this car.......MASTERPIECE ! You greatly exceeded that done by the Studio. Masterwork such as this is beyond monetary value.

Thanks. After building in the retractable parachutes mechanism, I was having a hard time deciding whether or not to actually use it. The painter did such a great job, I didn't want to screw up the rear end. But I really wanted to know if it would work😛

Outrageous, simply outrageous. The 1966 Batmobile with 2024 upgrades. This car has to be put on display.

This car makes Ohio look good. With all of the fake everything these days, the authentic features of this Batmobile are beyond compare. An inspiring build with background music to suit. The turbine, flames and retractable chute are out of this world. Thank you for sharing such a stunning creation!

Nice catch on the guns! I had to modify the trigger force, but after that, the Calicos have been quite reliable.
