Pro tip for sure. Learn that one when youre putting up a vanity light and you drop that little decorative nut down the drain...

I have a huge box around the wires, how do I take it off? The fan and the light share the same switch but only the fan doesn't turn off

Is this a new problem? Sounds like its wired incorrectly. They ended up splicing constant power and the bathroom fan together instead of the light and bahfan together and power on its own. Sorry cant help with the box around the wires you speak of.

I am going to give this a shot. I have an extractor fan that won't turn off even though the light goes on and off.

It didn't work, unfortunately. I believe I have to take the fan apart to figure out why it runs 24/7.

When you replace the new switch, does it have to 20am or regular switch would work ?

@@wilderhomeinspections1626 Thats what I use and obviously it was not the case btw, my previous owner hardwired so I had to reconnect to the switch.
