I love your analyses! I would LOVE LOVE LOCE to hear your break down on Auroras voice. Her use of texture and register is amazing. She’s a Norwegian singer that started writing her own songs at 9. She uses really interesting dissonance and minor harmonies. She’s also on the Austin’s spectrum so I feel like watching her perform is like getting to see her raw human soul singing it feel other worldly to me. I really really hope I get to see an analysis of her from you ! ❤ Some of my favorite are Runaway (Nobel peace prize concert) Through a Child’s Eyes (live at Nisad-something) Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)

That was a killer performance!

She actually sang a song before this Secret love song by little mix which is also a very hard song to sing live. She didn't even rest that what's makes her even more awesome.

Thank you, Peter, for this reaction and detailed analysis of Morissette's performance on the 2017 Asian Song Festival held in South Korea where she was representing the Philippines. It was an amazing performance that it was that time when the press started calling her as "Asia's Phoenix". 🥰 Thank you for letting us know and making us understand that singing and performing completely live on stage in a very big venue with a huge audience is much, much more difficult and challenging than singing in a studio or in a radio station like the Wish Bus. The odds are all against the singer because of the track and audio booming and bouncing/echoing all over that it would be difficult to properly and accurately hear oneself singing and being in tune and in time with the backing track and vocals, and compunded even more when, like in this performance, the singer has to move a lot, even jumping and doing a lot of choreography while singng, we can just imagine that it would really take a toll on the breathing, the support, affecting the singing and the performance as a whole. That's why, as you informed us here in this reaction video, many singers, even the popular ones, had to do recording of their own voice and singing prior to the performance, and just do lypsincing or singing along with the recording during the actual performance, in order to avoid being pitchy or completely out-of-tune, which would ruin their performance, their reputation, and their career. But in this case, Morissette has to perform completely live, with such a difficult song, with so much belting, lots of riffs, and even whistles! And she has to move around that stage, alone, with no backup singers, dancers, or bands as we usually see popular singers do in concerts. It was only the sound track with the instruments and backup vocals that she had. And to think that those audience were there not for her but for their kpop idols who would also perform in that event. But Mori was brave enough to surmount all those challenges, she did her best to represent our country, she gave her all on that stage, performing as if that was her solo concert, and the audience loved it, appreciated her talent, and has earned her new fans from Korea. The organizers recognized that, that's why Mori was invited again -- it was a first for a Filipino -- to perform on the following year 2018 Asia Song Festival. Hopefully you can feature and react to that also.

Thank you for bringing up realistic discussion about live vocals on stadiums or big stages because half of singing is hearing and venues like that with thousands of people in the audience can be very loud and overwhelming sound wise... you cant sing on pitch if you cant hear the key you're in lol also she is performing in "relative pitch" which she is still within the key... just not as precise with hitting notes... a little sharp/flat but not off key at all! So thank you for bringing that point up!

As great as the first song was, which by the way, Little Mix has seen this performance, and of course, they were blown away. Also, I pretty second song which reminds me of a VH1 Divas performance. Talk about commanding that stage!!! The audience didn't know what was coming for them. Morisette got invited again the next year which is a great honour. And yes, being able to perform live and jumping, walking the stage, dancing while producing those vocals.??? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Yes, the ending whistles didn't land as much but holy smokes Batman, you try doing what Morisette does.
