Agreed!
I think I'll stick to my tried and true "slather the whole base in glue, dunk it in either dirt, sand, or snow, add any desired foliage, and away you go" method. If I wasn't working on a scale of napoleonic rank and file I might put more effort in but I'll save fancyness for artillery and commanders that don't have the benefit of a ranked up mass to help out.

That's just the backer they're attached to. They peel right off that for use.
Got a dislike, base with zero miniature equals failure.

I was going to ask about this; how do you glue a miniature onto a base that's been prepped like this without it just snapping off and taking all the stuff underneath with it? I always add my minies then base
