Hey I just wanted to thank you guys for your amazing speedpaint 2.0. I am a disabled gamer and can't paint for long periods without pain but speedpaint has let me actually put painted minis on the table. Some of the best stuff I have ever used so I will probably buy the complete fanatic set too. Thanks again.

Do you think you could do a video for each method? In case someone wants to follow that specific method and not be confused with the other methods? Thanks!

Great stuff as always guys, some constructive criticism though, I found the format a little confusing to follow, although the video would be longer it would be alot easier to follow along with if you did each method one at a time. Hope that makes sense, I have just bought the fanatic mega box and I love it, thanks again.

It is great to see the variety depending upon the application and colours chosen. I think a little from columns 1, 2, 3, 4 would make a great model to my preference. Thanks for the experimentation.

I have grown to love the army painter range. As I’ve got more confident in my painting I’ve switched out my citadel paint for army painter. More color guides for the main space marine chapters I think would be great for beginners. Right now it’s easier to buy citadel paint for the chapters as a beginner.

As someone who is new to the hobby, you guys have been an amazing starter guide for me. I got the gamemaster starter with 5 minis and have primed them in black and dry brushed grey then white ( slapchop, underpaint etc ) and will getting the speedpaints full set soon to finish them off ( I may have ruined my dwarf and need to find out how to strip it... Used regular paint which got rid off all my highlights and mid tones you get from slapchop ) Also going to have get your wet palette as well. Its awesome seeing you listen and make your products better as well, thanks for all the guides also.

I've been doing option # 4 (using red dragon primer only - no more base coating the armor) for my Blood Ravens marines then slapping Berserker Bloodshade (shade paint from Citadel) on it to add shadows and fill the recesses. I find that the Army Painter primer also serves as a good primer + base combo skipping one step in re-basing the model. I thought this method was "heretical" and me just being lazy but good to know it is a valid option.

Those botches are killing your paintjob, try doing layer paints and paint in the shadows instead of just trusting the shades, you can always go back to shades when you have more brush control, its going to advance your painting something fears.

  • @TheArmyPainter

That’s 100% a good and valid method as well. We were going for a faster, army painting method that can be more easily applied across a lot of models at once consistently with this tutorial. We also do more advanced tutorials that use purposefully placed shadows like you’re talking about.
