We love using our dark purple opal basil to make tea! It changes from a blue-green color to pink with citrus, so fun! My daughter calls it unicorn tea and so it will forever be unicorn tea to us!! 🥰

I found a great recipe for a bevarage a while back, and just tweaked it to my liking: you brew tea (I used hibiscus), let it steep, sweeten it, and let it cool in the fridge over night. The next day, you fill it into a ice cube tray, and freeze it. When that's frozen, you fill as many ice cubes into a glass as your heart desires, and then you pour sparkling water over it. So good

We both agreed to use less honey next time though. I live in Southern California, but have in-laws in NW Arkansas. I always forget that what Southern folk refer to as sweet tea is on a whole other level than what we’re used to out west. 😂

I'm excited to hear that you're showing how to grow & how to use it in the kitchen. I watched R&R earlier & learned several things about growing basil. I've grown sweet basil for years, but last summer I had trouble with it and with my first attempt with Tulsi. I'm guessing it was getting too much sun during a very hot summer. So I'm going to rectify that this year & try Tulsi again. Thank you! 😊

I've been enjoying home grown basil tea ever since Taylor's Tea making video. I'm a convert. Every year I look forward to a summer of Iced Tea from the garden. This year I added Tulsi to my herb garden. I look forward to a summer full of tea made from it and my Lemon Balm and Sweet Basil. I going to experiment w/ freezing basil tea concentrate. Maybe I can extend it to a year-round beverage.

I love the ideal of mixing things. I love Mint tea. I grow different flavors of Mint.

Great idea! Sage, thyme (lemon thyme!), mint of course, rosemary all are also really great in teas on their own or combined. And don't forget lemongrass

❤❤❤ I have an aunt from London who doesn’t drink tea - won’t even try my tea blends I make so tomorrow I’m bring a jar of tea to our lunch date for her to try. She’s such a brat at 86, but has a sweet tooth so I’m telling her it’s honey tea. 😂

I’ve been drinking my first basil tea of the year today before I saw this come up. I got the idea from you on the other channel. Warning for some people be careful pouring your boiled water into mason jars. I broke one right in half last summer-heat stress-. Love my basil tea though. I used Genoese this time. I’ve used purple. I’ve also brewed. it with stevia leaves to sweeten it ! Works great if you a.so grow stevia!

YEAH! I am so excited to see the two channels ‘combined’ to help show how to use what is grown, something I have struggled with. Thank you so much!! Also, so excited to try this tea!
