Basal Ganglia: Neuroanatomy Video Lab - Brain Dissections
Structures involved in involuntary movements are shown on models, in animations, and on gross coronal and axial sections. Diagrams show the cortex-to-cortex loop and the nigrostriatal pathway. The direct and indirect pathways are shown. The direct pathway facilitates movement while the indirect pathway inhibits movement on the opposite side of the body. Clinical videos of two diseases, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s, are examples of interruption of the balance between excitation and inhibition in these pathways.

Only a feeble-minded tool as yourself would make such a low brow comment. How can someone as shallow in thought be permitted to study medicine?@@Stoneface_

@Daniel Appleton you are absolutely right! I just could quite grasp the concepts on the real specimens because they are not very nice at my uni (most of them are damaged). I made sure to check them out as much as I could tho. :)

Nice Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Yonlijah Seyatalie Release (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for getting rid of uterine fibroids without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got amazing success with it.

Dr. Stensaas you made our life very clear and easy to understand, by providing us with your unforgettable information, and superb correlative presentation. Be blessed.
the animation was made in 1998. I was born that year and now a medical student. :) Thanks for the video ma'am!

How are you a medical student? Assuming you were born in 1998 you would be around 20 years old. You need a bachelors before you can begin to apply for medical school.

@@alexisdelapuente3097 Man, in some countries this isn't necessary. Lemme give you an example. In Brazil (my country) you start going to medschool after you finish highschool and It lasts 6 years, not 4 like in the US.

It's the same in Europe. 6 years university learning medicine and after that a few years of residency.
