I’ve decided that I’m done lusting over winds and I’m going to ride out Preston’s story, it’s the best shot I have for some closure and it’s damn good!

It's not filler, it's setup. You can't just jump straight into the 4 battles right at the start of the book without establishing the circumstances

​@@liamreeves344the 4 battles (or at least 2 of them) that were supposed to happen in the 5th book. The 5th book of a series that was meant to be a trilogy, lol I get you're point & I am glad that we got more than 3 books, but that doesn't change the fact that George seems to have been putting off wrapping things up for a looong while now. I mean at George's pace we'll barely wrap up Dance's storylines by the end of Winds!

​@@liamreeves344the thing is, everything up til the 4 battles is basically just the ending to dance's storyline. He can't drag it out a bunch, because then half the book will just be wrapping up the dance plot and no room for a new story. There's already little room to tell a complete story with the rest of winds.

I feel like Theon 1 would have been better here first and then Barristan. We know the battle of ice and fire will play out at the same time so I think its best to switch between viewpoints for wach until both battles are completed. The reason I think Theon's is best to start it bc it leads better. Barristan ends right into the battle with action building up and Theon 1 starts slow. It ruins the momentum. Best to start with Theon and then Barristan. Best to keep the action going and building instead of stopping and starting.

I cannot wait for this fanfic to start covering whats happening up in the north.

You and the writers and editors, do such amazing work with this fan fiction. Thank you so much for entertaining us. I sometimes think Barriston's arc will see him survive every battle but have all his leaders fail him or die on him, eventually having to retire to a small keep with attendants to bury him, like he said in the show

Not crazy at all. Most people who would be willing to give it a try would finish in less than a decade+. LOL. Most people don't take this long to write one story. It's not like the story is about to solve war, violence and hunger. It's just a fantasy novel. Geez, but saying to poop or get off the pot is entitled. LOL.

The fact that Barristan’s next chapter ends with a Vietnam war trope, fake Jon dragonrider, fake Daenerys dragonrider, and peace when all sides join Daenerys’ regime; is hilarious.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this chapter included someone whos accent was said to be from the Basilisk Isles. Is this the first time we've ever heard of someone from the Basilisk Isles? Or does it imply hes from the pirate population that stays there? I would like to know what the natives look like.
