BARON'S FIRST HORSE PULL!!... How will he do???!

Today is a big day- Baron's first horse pull!! We are wondering how he will do!
Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

77 years old and I'm not apologizing for being in tears! Baron was outstanding!!! First time in an indoor arena. First time hearing an amplified human voice. First time being around a bunch of strange horses. First time hearing yelling and clapping! And he kept his cool and did what was asked of him. I can't hold down my emotions! 😂😂🎉🎉 I missed Brenda. But very good job Jim!! 👏

But, thanks to you and your wonderful wife Brenda, you’ve allowed us to watch Baron ( and his brothers ) grow up and learn and what a great treat it’s been! I look forward to seeing Baron and Bill and eventually Duke and Earl show just how good they are!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Jim! That was impressive! Baron caught on to the game immediately. No fussing about, crowd, speakers, strange horses. Time in the woods has really made that horse, and this is just the beginning. New A team, old A team will not be seen competing again, not with that young powerhouse learning the game. Bill did whisper in Baron's ear, "It's cool, young buddy, we can do this, just stay with me." Good on you for conceding, unlike that black, which totally lacked conditioning and heart. And tail! Is docking still permitted over there? Horse God was not amused. Can't even knock the tails off foxie pups here in Australia. Jim, your judgment of Baron's ability is perfect. Now he can only get better with experience. A worthy beginning. Great view from the stoneboat, but we did miss Brenda.

I’m not too sure what you were expecting Jim but for Barons first timing pulling I was so impressed at how well he handled it. Just the newness and being in a strange environment sure was a test to Barons abilities. I think Baron has come a LONG way in a SHORT time and that is a testament to your horse training skills Jim. Bill, of course, went a long way in aiding Barons success and kudos to him as well. I truly miss Bill and Lady pulling together but maybe one day again we will see those two in action. I would be dishonest if I didn’t tell you just how much I miss seeing Ken and Buck pulling but those days are behind us but for repeat watching of the past videos. The video popping up in my feed about Bucks passing probably didn’t help the walk down memory lane but those were some very good memories! Hoping Brenda had a great day building memories with her grandbabies and I’ll bet you two had a great time sharing your day with each other. Now, can Lady move this pregnancy along to completion so we can have new stories to tell? Just anxious is all!!!:):):)

Great job by a great team. Jim, I believe you deserve all of the credit for the success of the team. After all, it's you that trained them and conditioned them to be champions. Congratulations on a job well done!

I’m speechless how well Baron & Bill pulled. Were they the lightest team pulling out of the five? It was hard to hear clearly in some parts but wow, great footage and a great time watching. Thanks for sharing 🐴🐴

Thank you Jim for your efforts to record the pull by yourself. Turned out great. Baron and Bill pulled hard and minded well, Bill was even laying down some lub greese, ah ha, Baron did amazingly well, made it look easy and one would never guessed that was his 1st pull. I think you found a very good place to stop. Next time Baron will pull that stone boat home. Looking good. Thank you.
