It always amazed me how our dogs loved farrier day!

For not having his hooves dealt with in such a long time he is so patient and cooperative. What a sweet soul.

it´s probably not so much time,the younger ones growing hoove like crazy. the shocking part is that the poor creature was always in a confined place without any chance to grind the hoove down naturally. in humans you can find indeed anything imaginable,from best to worse.

When I was 10 my parents bought me a pony from the SPCA for $35. She had also been abused and blind in one eye, plus adults used to ride her. She was a Shetland pony, black. Actually to this day, ( I am now 55 ) she was my dream pony.❤️🙏💯 I rushed home from school every day to ride her before it got dark and then had to promise to do all my homework. As long as studies stayed steady, I was able to ride my pony through the park every day after school. The best childhood memories God bless my parents who passed three months ago three days apart. They were married 71 years❤️ God bless 🌈🌦🌻

It looks like fun too! I might try prancing next time I get my nails done at the salon! Seriously though, it's my favourite part of these videos when you see the horse/pony trotting around afterwards. It must have been so painful to walk around on those overgrown hooves.

That's a mighty fine job done well. Spurs never going to forget who eased his discomfort. I've trimmed a neglected pony with overgrown hooves almost as bad, found that placing the hoof on a bit of 2x6 on the ground made it much easier to saw off the worst, and also used a two inch wood chisel to shape on the timber which sped the process up.

I think by branding him a Wild & Crazy horse it was an attempt to excuse his neglect. He was a good boy in a bad crowd. Thank you for giving him the life he deserved.❣

As a farrier for more than 50 years, I loved watching this in its entirety. One hint that might help you is, use a pruning saw to cut off those slipper toes. What a good pony. He’s not foundered!

Makes you wonder how he was treated by the people who said he was wild and crazy. Because he’s not when he’s cared for gently.

It is absolutely beyond sickening that someone would let a poor little pony’s hooves get to this point. Such a good little pony, and I hope it has a wonderful home where it will be loved.

What an immense relief to see all that awful growth removed. The freedom to move again must have been a wonderful feeling. This gorgeous little guy has such a beautiful gait! And is there anything better to watch than a skilled and caring farrier? Also, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving him a new life with kindness and love. I can't imagine how scared he was in the auction yards.

Yes, after all he'd been thru, to see an animal still be so happy & loving life again is just heart warming & beautiful. It always tugs at my heart strings to see an animal abused & or neglected, I personally see no diff, bounce back w/loving care!!

Yes there is so very much we people could learn from the animals, absolutely remarkable how they forgive and bounce back as you said, I have seen it in cats, dogs, and read about it with many other species. Or how the animals are always willing to help other animals, dogs nursing kittens, Cats take on other species too and I read that when a goose is injured while the flock is migrating another always stays with the injured.

Thanks for taking care of this pony. He looks so sweet and will make any child very happy to call their own. Bless you.

Spur isn’t a crazy pony. He’s gentle & did extremely good while getting those hoofs trim. I know he feels better. Gosh those hoofs were long & thick. I cried watching him galloping in the pasture. Beautiful pony. No excuse for his hoofs to get that way. Glad u rescued this beautiful boy.

This is the Most Calm and Serene Pony ,who just stood there without moving,Neighing and just letting them do their job. But I m guessing Horses have a great intuition,and just know they are helping him. I am absolutely Thrilled and Delighted for this Sweet Sweet Pony ❤❤❤❤

I'm just completely amazed that he's not showing any sign of lameness after having hooves that overgrown for so long. To go straight from that to being able to trot after his pastern muscles and leg tendons were so stressed is a miracle. Plus his hooves are amazingly hard for being more on the white side. Taken care of now, they'll stand up to rough country like a dream. Everyone's right about his gait, too. He's got a wonderful, fluid trot! Reminds me of my American Saddle Horse I had in 4-H, without the elevation. 😄 A beautiful smooth movement. He must be a real pleasure to ride! So happy he can move freely now.

Spur was such a good boy during his hoof cutting and trimming. I think he knew you were trying to help him. So far, he seems gentle to me. I think you approaching him slowly on the side with his bad eye helped and petting him showed him you care. Spur seemed happy in the pasture trying out his improved hooves.

MANKIND is responsible for all the atrocities in this world since the very beginning of our existence. War, famine, hate, murder, sexual and physical abuse of children, fake religions, killing the planet, killing the fish, fowl and animals, messing with the weather, I could go on and on and on but you get what I’m saying. The Lord loves ALL of us but the underdogs hold a special place in His heart, as long as they live a righteous life. I just can’t blame the very person who created us because all His creations are perfect. But He gave us free will. That started the whole ball rolling and we took it and ran with it! We were no longer perfect because Satan tempted Eve and the rest is history. God is the totality of what love is, what peace is, what calmness is, teaching us all about what it means to be loving, caring, kind and peaceful. We keep forgetting that but it’s REALLY important to remember. A LOT of people don’t even believe in God anymore. It breaks my heart ♥️! This was one awesome sweet pony who appreciates his hooves taken care of. Shame on the former owner who obviously didn’t care. Glad someone who loves and cares for Spur owns him now . Be happy Spur you deserve to be loved and cared for.

Spur looked as though he was enjoying all the attention. He looks like a sweet, gentle pony. We all need to see more of hime - hope his eye cleared up.

He sure is a sweetie, and I can tell that he loves what you did for his hooves. Now to get the vet to come and examine and take care of his left eye. Have both of them examined just in case. Thank you. I saw how he loved running around after the hooves were trimmed down.

My cousins husband is a cowboy (job title). He said this is the part he hates loving. He loves animals and horses are his big dogs. He loves taken care of and “fixin up” a horse but he hates that the animal was neglected. It’s a bitter sweet emotion. Awesome video.

❣What a well mannered pony during all that trimming. The farrier did an awesome job. I noticed what a nice trot he has when in the pasture, with a wonderful spring in his steps. Looks like he might be a real comfortable ride ❣
