Very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to post this video on turning the form. It's useful to see the gradation from one side coming from the "crease" gradating in to the light. Spheres make me sort of think about both sides turning, but on the figure a lot of these inner burrows and what not are sometimes only turning on one side; this demo helps to visualize how that's done.

Hi Sadie..does your introduction to bargue plate drawing dvd take you through the whole process of drawing a bargue plate?

The videos teach all the steps and shows you how to put them all together so you can complete your own drawing. It takes a beginner several months to master all the steps and complete one Bargue plate, but their drawing ability is forever transformed. If you are ready for rigorous art training I recommend joining my Online Atelier here: www.sadievaleriatelier.com/online-lessons

It's the name given to the darkest line of shadow on a form.

Since light cannot bend it cannot wrap around turning form, so the terminator is the line beyond which the primary light source cannot reach: The termination of the light. Here is my blog post explaining more: www.sadievaleriatelier.com/post/terminators-and-cast-shadows

I have a true passion for drawing, but i also love mathematics. So next year after highschool I'm gonna do engineering (salary), so this is giving me some guidance to help ease the sadness of not getting to go to art school

I'm all for developing marketable skills. All artists have to figure out how to make money, and it's very efficient to have a valuable skill that allows you to make a high income from the least hours per week/year you can get away with. The trick is to not let your salary career make you think you ARE your salary career. Work as an engineer, but live as an artist.

I still don't understand how to think like 3d? I think instructions are not that clear when it comes to practice. You pointed out: 1- Starting to shade up towards the light (?) which i do, but see no difference on the end product. 2- Hard down bottom, softer towards the light (?) Uhm, which is the fundemental thing of shading. I suppose everyone can do this. I have a hard time to understand the importance of this simple tips. If the shading placement and values done correct, what would be the difference? There isn't any magical touch that makes the form 3d, right? Your information is great on theorical level. But i can't see any difference that it can cause in practice. Thanks a lot though.

@@SadieValeriAtelier I just bought it! I wasn't going to do it actually because i wanted to see the individual oil painting tutorials and they were too expensive individually, but then i saw that i can have an acsess to all of your individual videos too with that special offer; so that made me to just go for it. That was a really great offer, you are great teacher i hope i can improve my oil paintings now. :) Thanks. Can you please share a detailed video about mixing the colors, and finding the right values and techniques to copy an old master oil painting too? That would be a great video.. I just have a hard time on that one.

Yeah you definitely got the idea, you should go check out some of the work over at grand central Atelier, this is a lot of what they teach, just without the tracing. It’s surprisingly hard to find people who really teach this.
