The last minute or so of this i so amazing. It's a master class in jazz vocals. While she may not have the deeper belting voice of Garland, Cook can match or exceed anyone doing this song. People may have a preferred version, but objectively speaking, Cook cannot be criticized,.

This was recorded early November 1995 so Barbara was 68 at the time. I know because I was there.

@iseestarsinyou She's "so far better than the song" is the dumbest comment I've ever read - sorry! Barbara's been a HUGE Garland fan all her life, and although she knows she's incapable of belting in chest like Garland (she's said this MANY times), she loves Garland's material and genre so much that she occasionally attempts adaptations through arrangements. This song is a MASTERPIECE, but the FABULOUS Miss Cook doesn't have the pipes for belting a ballsy torch. She makes it a real squeaker.
