Barbara Bergman: Pioneering Feminist Economist & Advocate for Economic Diversity

Professor Sarah Small (@EconomicsUofUtah) pays tribute to the remarkable feminist economist, Barbara Bergman.
Bergman's groundbreaking work in the field of feminist economics challenged conventional economic theories and emphasized the significance of power, patriarchy, and social provisioning.
Small explores Bergman's influential Occupational Crowding Hypothesis, which shed light on labor market discrimination, and the personal experiences that fueled her commitment to economic equality.

I'm surprised to see there's no Wikipedia entry for Barbara Bergman - perhaps you could create one? I did know of her, I have worked on pay equity in NZ and once went to a wonderful IAFFE feminist economics conference in Sydney, so great to hear your summary of her work. thanks, Linda

You're welcome! This is one of the main reasons we have built our library, it is so critical to understand the roots of today's ideologies if we are to move forward. Universities may be reducing the teaching of history, but we wont!
