How he combines his background of training in martial arts, hip hop, ballet, modern and traditional Korean is so impressive. The fact that you pause at any point and he always has beautiful lines is great but even how he gets back into position through gliding across the stage.

Thank you so much for starting a Black Swan series. To me, Jimin is one of the most (or maybe THE most) captivating dancers I've ever seen, and I've been fortunate enough to see some of the best classical dancers in the world live on stage. Jimin brings not just technique (which he has in spades), but artistry to his performances. I like the fact you're not afraid to pause and rewind... oh and feel free to slow it down to 50% any time. I'm right there with you.

I used to watch the dancers' competitions where I had usually seen the very prominent technical perfection. When Jimin dances I forget how perfect is his technique bc it's the tool to show the emotions. Also you, Cat, explain the technique as the way to serve its purpose. Thank you:-)

Loved the way you broke the movements, and show this kind of perfection his movements always have, this guy is an extraordinary performer, to think that he is singing while performing such difficult movements, to think that in the very beginning he was able to serve faces while dancing and singing, that old JM always surprises me... the actual one has been working hard and continuously for 9 years now, but young Jimin was already able to have presence together with dance skills

i dont know about dancing very well, but jimins dancing really stand out for me who not familiar with dancing, but watching jimin and pro reactor about him, really increase my knowledge about dancing, just look at his amazing dance line, never disappointed when you watch jimin perform

I often make comments that Jimin gives 150% . He is so dedicated and works so hard to perfect his performances whether he is doing a solo performance or in the background. The reason I got hooked on BTS after seeing him the American Jimmy Fallon and James Cordon Shows. My daughter studied dance for 12 years. I love dance but never studied da ce . Thankyou for your discussion. He graduated in Contemporary Dance and also studied a special Marsh Arts in Japan and was offered short course on China . He is a pleasure to watch. Australian 🇦🇺 Fan .

This was fascinating. Just like you, I could watch at 50% for the entire time. Jimin is lovely to watch, no matter what the choreo is. Black Swan is my favorite dance. When it came out all I could think was Wow, all of them are portraying swans. Even Jin, RM, and Suga - the 3 with least training. It was, is, such a pleasure seeing Jimin being given the opportunity to shine in his genre.

Yay! I'm always so so happy everytime you upload, such great videos and as I've said before I really really am so thankful to you for making them and providing a little extra happiness in my day, thank you. I would love to know how he manages to do the bounce that he sometimes adds in to the end pose. Thinking it through I assume it's muscles at the base of the back controlling the stop and bounce but because of physical limitations I can't test this for myself without really breaking myself haha so I've always been curious how he does it! For me there are so many moments, both big and small, that stand out in this choreo. The hands as always. But also there are times where he does slightly different knee bends for example at the end after the hand behind head going down to waist and then after move laterally part, he kind of bends his knees outwards as he moves his hand from behind his head, down his torso and to his waist. It's a smallish detail but I just love it. Also I wonder if V and Jimin practiced the chorus arm movement just together at some point, the one that you explained needed an open shoulder to allow the arm to extend and unfurl etc, as those two both do an extra bend on "me" whereas the rest of the lads keep it pretty straight as they sweep it across their body. It's such a beautiful move in both instances and I wonder if everyone doing that extra bend would be too intense tbh. I also feel like the two different movements add different emotion to the chorus too and to me it's like the extra bend motion is trying to hang on to something important beneath the pain, whereas the straight arm is almost sweeping away the pain to move forward. I know this is probably a very random thought but it's always how it came across to me and I'm so glad they did it that way. I also love how the more Jimin has danced this choreo the higher and higher his sweeping kicks have gotten (Jin's have kept getting higher too i think) and my goodness he doesn't half manage to keep his back so straight even with such a high position from his hip, just beautiful and that whip up from bent over to straight immediately after the leg raise/kick is probably so difficult to get impact into and yet its there everytime. He has also (similar to fake love) let his hands/fingers dangle more on some of those sharp elbow movements, just love to see the choreos evolve the more the guys perform them it's so fantastic. Sorry for the long comment, I just don't get to talk about the specifics much and also don't comment on videos often so I tend to go a bit overboard when I do haha. Thank you so much for 30 mins of both knowledge and also pure joy. Thank you. P.s. I really do love your hair, such a pretty colour!

I think you might be spot on when it comes to V. I don't usually pay that much attention to him (a bit hard when Jimin is such a mesmerising dancer) but he did manage to catch my attention eventually with his arm and hand movements (after having watched BS for like the 100th time because of Jimin 😂) so like you I was wondering if they had practiced together.

I think my favorite piece of watching Jimin dance is how he connects everything….. he’s almost constantly moving so it always just seems to flow so naturally from one move or blocking to the next
