Bailey Adamo 69-4 Arriving At Bolton Abbey Caravan And Motorhome Club Site

We take the Bailey Adamo 69-4 to Bolton Abbey Caravan And Motorhome Club Site. A good chance to road test the Adamo on a good mix of roads. When we arrive, a nice relaxing walk from Strid Wood to Barden Bridge.

Enjoyed the video Bob & Jenny. Seeing Poppy thinking about chasing the ducks brought back an amusing incident when we last stayed there several years ago when it was still known as Strid Wood. Sitting in our van in the evening there was suddenly a large bang outside as something hit our van and I rushed out to see a dazed duck on the ground and a fairly large dent on the side of the van. I told the warden about this and he said so many people were feeding the ducks that they got overweight and couldn't take off very well! I hope you, Jenny, Poppy & Tara all managed to avoid any low flying ducks - and the Bailey you're testing at the moment!

Good to hear you like the automatic. We owned touring caravans from 1974 to 2013 and towed them with both manual and automatic cars. Automatics are so much better, particularly the newer ones. We should get our first motorhome in spring next year. It will be on the Fiat chassis with the ZF automatic transmission. From what I have read the ZF transmission gets better write-ups than the Ford transmission. It would be interesting if, at some time in the future, you have the opportunity to drive an automatic motorhome on the Fiat/ZF chassis/transmission combination so you can share thoughts on how they compare. In the meantime keep enjoying your time with the Adamo. Thank you for the videos. We really enjoy them.

Great to see some content concentrating on the chassis rather than the layout. Not much of this content about, though I don’t suppose many would choose a van based on the chassis manufacturer? My new Fiat motorhome has the new 9 speed auto which I love. I wouldn’t have picked this as an option due to price, but there was a special deal on for £700. I don’t know how Fiat justifies the high price, which also requires an engine upgrade. Three years ago I bought a new 5 Series BMW and was only charged £1700 for virtually the same gearbox!

On the Adamo you won’t be able to fit a tow bar due to the limitations of the Ford chassis, but you can up plate it to 4000kg, one of the reasons I sold ours, never thought too ask about towing at time of ordering expensive mistake.

  • @BobEarnshawMoHo

We took our Range Rover and twin axle caravan to Bolton Abbey through the stone arch and it was essential to get the rig lined up before going through. We had Sheila and Joe behind us and got through fine. I wonder if the big 8 foot wide Bailey caravans struggle ? We love this site. Nice dog walk along the Strid and down to the Abbey. 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev

Hello there Bob and Jenny. You know what, am rather interested in getting a Bailey Adamo 69-4, as I really like the layout, auto gear box, handling quality looks really good and oh my, it's rather sprightly on the dual carriageways and motorways, something until now, I haven't seen on the reviews of this motorhome. Lovely location you are at and thank you for showing us around, much appreciated. Onto filming, you using a GoPro Hero ? 10 is it?? I use a GoPro Hero 9 currently, and I can share with you a totally Hands-free mounting system, which I've actually got and the "Pro" kit is the best, especially with the chest mount which is adjustable and so easy to use. I have some vlogs in Llandudno in July using this and please feel free to look. Snap Mounts at :- kzread.info/dash/bejne/m651psGYg6Swgrg.html Hope that helps.

Yes it's a Hero 10, I'll have a look at the video, thanks. Yes, I've seen that, I follow Air Photography. They do look clever.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo you're welcome Bob. Oh yes, it's very easy to swap over mounts, no messing with thumbscrews. I've also got Micro Windjammer on front microphone below the lense. In conjunction with Media Mod, works a treat. Tested on bike to 30mph and with snap mount, I put on roof of my car to 50 mph and 60 mph, no issues, no wind noise

You can't drive fast in a motorhome! Please remember I always stay within the speed limits. It looks faster than it is because of the wide angle lens.
