Your video brings back fond memories of the 1970's and 80's when Lochside was the municipal caravan site in Forfar. I initially went with my parents when I was still at school and have been on the same pitch as yourselves many years when it was all grass and no mains hook-ups. Several families used to meet there for a few days prior to the Fife & Tayside Centre's Rally at Glamis Castle and we would all be in the corner near the loch. I'll have to take a trip up to Lochside with the caravan in the near future.
Hi Bob, Jenny and Poppy, love the drive to the next campsite. What a lovely site it was. Nice tour of the facilities and lovely to see Tara xx Rake care xx Julie and Tony xx
I can't imagine why anyone would want to skip forwards and miss all that beautiful scenery. What a lovely site. Thanks to Jenny for all the info she read out...and i did laugh at her finding where the nearest A&E was😂 take care ❤

Glad you enjoyed it
Site looks lovely! 👏Enjoy, Bob and Jenny❤ Hi to Poppy and Tara🐾🐾🐾🐾
Thanks for taking me along!
That’s one of the reasons we watch your arrivals Bob, to help us not to drive by some site entrances as we have also tootled by them.😅Enjoy ❤

Thank you 👍
Lovely to see this site again in good weather. We pitched there two years ago for one night and a day. We didn't leave from the van. Torrential rain, black skies, mist, fog and hail, we had it all. A day spent indoors watching films on t.v. The site was absolutely lovely but the weather so bad that we didn't even leave the van to use their facilities. That in itself remains our great memory of Forfar !!! We'll be back one day xxx

Well at least our weather was better than that.😃
We spent a very happy week there last year in our new caravan. Won’t forget it; we were out for the day enjoying the locality in the biggest downpour only to return and find we’d left our roof light wide open! 20 years on and still do daft things.

Oh no, that must have made a mess.
Its so easy to drive past where you want to go, we all do it, lovely looking site ,nice and clean showers ,😊thank you both for sharing this
I like the drive to the site it makes me feel i am going with you all. Our sat nav does that a lot takes us to the back of where we want to be with no entry.

Thanks, the problem is that Points Of Interest that are used for Sat Navs can cover a large area, up to 200 meters and sometimes have been entered incorrectly.
Forfar is one of our favourite club sites. Love watching your video travelogues, great for planning our future trips.
I love the scenic bits and love your channel 😍. I've been with you since 2019 but have seen all the content. I'm unable to fulfil my dream of having a motorhome or campervan but you keep my dreams alive. Thank you for sharing and all the best to you and Jenny 😊

Ah the aquaroll takes me back to when a was a kid caravanning with my parents. We only had a big canister and a rickety trolley. Oh how i longed for a posh aquaroll!

@BobEarnshawMoHo haha yes at least I didn't have to eat a handful of hot gravel!
You picked a nice few days to visit our nice wee town, dont think it has rained since you arrived on Friday (saw Konnie drive past my house about 1.20pm on Friday). Never having stayed on our local site it was interesting hearing Jenny read all the things to do we take for granted. North St chippy is one of the best in town. When you get to Stonehaven can recommend The Bay chippy five minute walk from site. Enjoy the rest of your trip, Haste ye Back.

Thank you, we tried the North St chippy, very nice.
Hi Bob we enjoyed your ‘arriving at’ video. As you reverted to dashcam footage, I did notice you still had your old registration showing on screen. Regards Phil

Yes, a couple of people pointed that out 😀 Changed now. 👍
One of my favourite sites ... will be there in a couple of weeks as the last stop on my annual Aberdeenshire tour. NB the road through the park has always been one way once passed the site

OK, thanks. I'm not sure why the sat nav was trying to send me down that one way street.
Fantastic Video. Well Done.
Sterling castle balanced on the end of Bob’s nose lol.

We never seem to be able to film Stirling castle as we go past 😄
That’s a nice looking club site. We have had our own episodes of missing the turnings. That reminds me I need to update our Sat Nav before too long. There’s a video to be had on that subject… “how to miss a turning, is it Sat Navs fault ?” 🤣 Safe travels 👍🏻💙🚐 Trev n Sue

We did it again at Huntly Castle!
We got to see the approach from both directions Bob, which is useful, so nothing to worry about. We live in Fife just about an hour away but haven't stayed there yet. Keen to give it a try now.

Hi Bob & Jenny. Apologies, it was me and hubby who were very rudely pointing and staring at you. 😊 It was Poppy I recognised first then realised it was you and shouted, “there’s Bob & Jenny” hubby was saying ‘no way’ so we stared a bit too long. Very sorry if we made you uncomfortable. Was going to wave then realised how daft we would look. 😂😂 We had dropped our motorhome in to Perthshire Caravans for its annual habitation check and thought we’d have a run up to see what the Forfar site was like. Hope you had a lovely stay and apologies again.

Blame the person who set the sat nav info , quite often find junctions etc not as they actually are , you at least didnt go down the street as instructed by the sat nav , love the area , alwayds find your arrivals good to watch , nice to get the heads up on the route , btw your dash cam has the old reg on it still 👍

@@BobEarnshawMoHo that’s 10-minutes from my house! It’s lovely. Try Silverbank at Banchory too as that’s as nice site, similar to Stonehaven. It’s a great base for exploring Deeside. I’m away up to Speyside at Craigellachie on Friday. 👍🏼

That must be great to see.
Been to Forfar 3 times now, the last time was 2020 when we were released after lockdown, its only about 45 minutes away for us but we are put off by the park next door. We have heard that they have a lot of trouble from people on there at night with items being thrown over the fence. Its a shame as we love the site. Hope you have a good tour, we like to see where you get to. Just got a new caravan from perthshire caravans.

There were occasional issues wrt object throwing/antisocial behaviour before the derelict former sports hall adjacent to the site was demolished. I've stayed on the site subsequently and had no issues, the area adjacent to the site has been landscaped and is much improved!

What is that barrel thing all about 😂😂! In Oz every powered site has mains water and grey water outlet .Seems a bit archaic to have to fetch water 😂

Yes, it is, but I could have filled up when I arrived at the Motorhome service point, but the next site has water and a drain on the pitch.

Love your journeys, but the ratting in your motorhome as your travelling must be a distraction
@BobEarnshawMoHo

Not distracting but a bit irritating. It's mainly plates we need to stop rattling.
Bob why do you pay the CAMC prices ? They have shown there true colours once again only knocking off £4 for a non electric pitch unbelievable!!
@BobEarnshawMoHo
24 күн бұрын
We've found that the club prices are just the same as private sites when they charge extra for awnings, dogs, cars.
@BobEarnshawMoHo

On Warwick Racecourse, a grass with electric is £6 more or £7 more for a hard standing pitch compared with a non electric pitch. They are also starting to install meters at some sites.
