@@EBikeBuilder_ how many watts are you putting to the motor? Mine says 6.5 on the motor, but there is no T in the model #, I got it in 2021 . It does 31mph with a stock 30amp controller. It's really quiet though, it makes a little bit of noise when you're really pushing it.

they can do 1080P 30FPS all day no problem. But its when you are recording 4K they struggle. I have the hero 11 not sure about new ones. but they always overheat on the higher settings. My gopro hero 8 can do 1080 all day. Its good for a secondary cam. like a face cam or something

How are these vesc controllers different from regular controllers that come on most bikes? I know vesc is open source and then i know there is uart and some others but I dont get what phase amps mean. And how does this compare to the sine wave controller vs the direct current controllers. I have some g063 1000 i think 5.5 motors and im trying to get maximum speed out of them but dont understand what goes into that. Im trying to achieve 50mph in a dual motor setup with a front and rear g063 1000 nominal motors but dont jnow if its possible. Ive read on forums that some other people have achieved something like 4000watts on a bafang g062, dont know if thats true or not or what speed that woukf equal to. Any help is greatly appreciated, im new to ebikes but have several ebikes and am trying to learn more about modifications and i have several spare motors that i would like to tinker with without spending too much on controllers.

In the FOC tab you can run motor detection without having to run the setuo wizard meaning the other settings don't get funked up. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYNn06psZcrbiqw.html

Your Flipsky & Phase Runner You Tubes help a lot. I have a Heybike 750W motor with a blown 25A Controller & now for $100 more they sell the Mars 2.0 with a 1000W motor. My guess is the same motor with a 30A controller. WDYT? I asked Heybike but I doubt they will tell me the pole pairs in what I suspect is a Bafang motor made for Heybike. They don't seem to have the controllers in stock. Is it safe to guess 50 pole pairs (100 poles) & the Flipsky will self correct when spinning free wheeled with no load? The motor says 48V Heybike & a serial/fabrication number.

You can open the motor and count the magnets and divide it by 2 for the pole pairs. its probably 50 pole pairs if its a bafang hub motor, which are the most common. They all use the same diameter rotor regardless of 500w or 750w with the same amount of magnets. So unless its some funny geared hub thts a different size with different number of magnets then it should be 50. What kind of motor cable do you have on your bike, is probably either Z916 or L1019 or L1121 (red) , or there is also Z910 which is for like 500W. But in any case the different motor cables can handle different levels of current. So that can be a constraint like if a 750w motor has a Z910 connector those are kind of limited. But most motors will come with at least a Z916 or L1019 which ive done a good 2000W + with and should work fine. It'll be important to identify the motor cable cuz youll probably have to buy one to cut and wire up to the flipsky if you go that route.

@@EBikeBuilder_I watched an You Tube from yrs ago on Grin Tech & he was explaining direct drive could count the magnets but not geared hub drive w/o knowing the gear ratio. He used a desktop to count the hall light cycles per one wheel rotation. 50 pole pairs is what he got counting. Was that Jason maybe with curly hair?

I am the outlier. Relative to the monstrosity comment, I understand the cyclist mentality. As it turns out, it is quite diverse. Some who ride $10K carbon fiber roadbikes get it. Others, not so much. I have raced roadbikes aka no motor. Now that I have gotten older, I decided to crash this space by building a Specialized dropbar roadbike with BBSHD. It will do 40mph with 52v 20 amp-hr battery. No pro can hold my wheel and many elites try. Its fun of course because elite roadies are an arrogant breed however not all are that way and important for the lay community to know that no group is a monolith. There is diversity of thought and acceptance in all groups. And for those that don't know, some elites can hold my wheel at 30mph and are incredibly strong. They are dedicated and work extremely hard at their fitness. These are the type who eat their young and take no prisoners. The other day I caught the wheel of a true a-hole who was an elite rider and he was cruising at 25 mph and I pulled up next to him and complimented him on his speed and fitness and position on the bike. Few can cruise at 25mph without a draft. Btw, many can cruise at 22mph. Power relative to speed is an exponential math function. As I passed him, I said, you can take my wheel if you like. Many don't notice I ride with a motor as I wear bike kit and I am fit. So I go by and accelerate to 28mph or so and he is holding my wheel which is commendable as 98% of all roadbikers would fall off at that speed. We slow down at an intersection, and he does a weird 'pass on the inside' move I have rarely seen outside of racing with narrow bike path width. He did this to get under my skin as nobody makes that move outside of competitive racing. Then he takes off laying down the watts. I might not have noticed I had a motor at that point which mkes this quite comical. This time, I decided to drop this dickhead and I accelerated to low 30's mph and he was gone. No way he could sustain that pace outside a draft. For those that haven't spent time biking racing without a motor, majority of bike racers are great guys and know alot about bike racing and fitness, position on the bike and bike tech. But some are real a_ _holes too with massive egos. Those are the ones I like to drop. Most love for me to pull for them at 25mph and strong riders can happily maintain 25mph in a draft. I tell them I am old now and need a motor and they get it and we have a laugh. Btw, I still ride my carbon road bike and can easily paceline in group rides up to about 25mph or so...sometimes a bit faster but my fast days are behind me now.

@@nicod974 Thank you. I like to permeate the space of bike racers because they are my peeps. The bike snob is alive and real...as EBB suggested with his reference and why I commented. Some truly are disrespectful of those on ebikes. To understand this mentality, only thing I can come up with is, those with superior fitness use this to justify their ego. I have countless friends from bike racing who are truly humble because there are so many layers. The fastest guys in my town who are true beasts and I have ridden with can't hold the wheel of the best in the world for example. Racing is quite humbling as it turns out. I don't mind having some fun with those with ego issues because they even existed with racing without a motor.

@@stevecumming6427 I have forgotten more about bike racing than you know. A sprint is not even a 5 mile race. I can put out close to 1000 watts in a full out sprint. My BBSHD will put out 2000 watts for a 'sustained period'. Collectively in a sprint, me and my motor can put out 3000watts. There are only a handful of men on the planet that can put out just over 2000 watts for about 20 seconds. Most professional cyclists can't touch 1500 watts. A stock BBSHD motor can sustain 1700 watts. Lets take the hour record for a cyclist. The hour record for a cyclist is just over 30 mph for one hour. This is done with maintaining 450 watts for one hour in a very aero position. I can average 35mph for one hour on my BBSHD with me only putting out 200 watts. A human can't compete with a motorized machine. Sorry you fell asleep in physics class...lol.
