Hey for the photos I sent you 3 different setups. One was from someone in the community whos been messing with tuning their own bbahd vesc for a while. The second one was another helpful user and the third was mine tuned my lunacycles. I thought this would be good as it would give you multiple examples of working setups that also have somewhat different settings. Im not sure which one is the best though best to play around with it all!

yea i think the FOC observer. and that gain has a lot to do with it. Im still messing around with it. Its hard to hear these noises and see the VESC app when im riding. So i cant actaully figure out much until i get back and edit the video Lol. what seems glaringly obvious and loud in the video, i cant really notice while riding. But this vesc stuff is cool. Thanks again for the help mate its working a lot better in general. I think it just needs some fine tuning !! Im still trying to harness the boost mode. That thing is crazy it currently has a mind of its own. And when boost mode kicks In, Im just hanging on. and the flipsky is taking me for a ride

Actually, the electric scooter I just made from a couple electric skateboards, plywood and gas pipe sucks compared to your stuff- but it does haul ass with 54 volts and a 90A controller. Love your vids, they are unique and I find myself binge listening to them when I build ev's.

Fyi I've tested using standard 48v controllers with 100v upgraded capacitors with 60v. There are videos on how to change 63v caps to 100v caps. Most standard 20amp to 35amp controllers have 63v caps and 80v mosfets, so the mosfets are pushing the limits too far for 72v charged battery. 60v is good for 40mph! Another interesting upgrade is adding a 12v li-po battery in series with a 48v li-ion. Just match amp-hours and you have 60 volts. If you are running one motor and one battery. Make sure you have a 12v battery that can match the amps too. I run 2x 48v batteries with 60-80 amps, so I bought a 12v with 60amp continuous and 30ah to match the 2 15ah 48v batteries.

My point of all this is that you buy a good powerful 60-80amp controller for your back wheel and then use a cheap 20amp controller for the front wheel. Just upgrade the caps on the cheap controller to handle the 60volts...

@@joeberginc7415 Don't understand why connecting a 20a controller to front wheel with presumably a separate battery would add much performance to a 60-80a driven rear wheel. Can you more precisely explain your two (hub) motor proposal...and why having two motors of such unequal power would be any good?

its an interesting idea never thought about upgrading the capacitors. I like how its a janky way to make a junk controller handle high voltage, i didnt realize the capacitors were the weakest link. and by upgrading those you could make the controller higher voltage. But with this flipsky I wonder if its just easier to pay 100 bucks for a flipsky than buy a 50 or 75 generic controller and then upgrade capacitors. one thing i like about the flipsky is it does 72v and is only 100 bucks

luke idk how it works but some how the g60 on 52v with 30a stock controller does give a booster up to the top speed of its voltage, it works fine up to about 36mph in my case, even though the rear motor is 1000w nominal and 75v. On my dual hub bike, thats another bike , not the one in this video

Dude, i have the same controller on my e-bike (Giant Trance w/ CYC X1 Pro Gen2 motor).... you need to order the davega style display that they offer with gps in order to get an accurate speed readout, or just use a gps speedometer, which would be a lot easier and faster.

You are probably right but it was showing speed before I changed the controller even while coasting... hi thanks for the video. Maybe you can help me ? I have a flipsky 75200 controller on my bike everything works fine for me except for one thing. when I move the bike backwards I can’t give gas to go forward, the gas handle doesn’t respond, it happens to me when I climb a hard mountain and stop for a moment, only if I stop completely I can give gas,and if I even go backwards a little bit the throttle stops responding. (the bike only has a mode of traveling forward)

if the motor stops and the wheel is in a spot of very high resistance, like going up a very steep incline, that can be tricky. Even with a phaserunner controller too. If the motor has hall sensors try using those (hall sensor or hybrid mode). Try messing around with the Open Loop settings. When the motor first starts its in open loop, and its kind of running blind until it gets moving, so going up something very difficult and rolling backwards can be confusing for the controller trying to start the motor. i'm still looking for solutions to this myself. I have this problem to a lesser extent with a phaserunner controller also. Its just really confusing for the controller when its going super slow and possibly rolling backwards.

  • @EBikeBuilder_

    2 ай бұрын

plastic retains heat, i think it has thermal insulation properties, so those controller boxes that are plastic are generally not great. Its better to have a controller with a metal shell or base and then have it thermally linked onto the metal frame of your bike. With that being said, I put the flipsky inside of this folding bike frame with no airflow, and its only like 5C warmer. So far i am not having problems with the flipsky heating up, even with no airflow, but you might run into problems in a small plastic box
