That’s my thing. None of the episodes apart from that archaeology one constituted “filler” in my eyes. They do develop the characters. I just don’t care about a lot of the topics. I just want to spend time following Crosshair to see what’s happening in the empire. OR Rex/Echo because they’re actually fighting to save clones. This story line motif of surviving - present here and in rebels never really interests me.

My favorite scene in this entire series so far: *Gonky* : GONK *Tech* : Yes I am playing against myself, it is the only time this game is a challenge

i like that they hint at the possibilty of a relationship building between Phee and tech. She is definitely dropping hints which he obviously isn't picking up but he still has grown closer to her over this episode in particular

20:45 "Are they gonna show a dead child?" - Allow me to refer you to TCW S03E21 "Padawan Lost" where we all experienced a child being murdered on-screen by a blaster shot to the back, and then had to listen to her asphyxiate to death, dying slowly in Ahsoka's arms. Filoni's not afraid to make the hard choices, boys.

Tech has a crush. Too cute!

The scene that Bendu is referring to, with Rex calling them up, is the Episode they went and recovered the evidence against Rampart from the Venator, isn't it? So it has already happened.

Just a moment of appreciation to the animator that took the time to put shock diamonds into the engine exhausts when Hunter hits the burners on the shuttle.

More that the animator it was the particle effects specialist in coordination with the lighting technical artist. But yeah they did a great job, the animators are only in charge of motion of characters and objects not effects as engine bloom, or even the laser shots. But it all those jobs i described fall on the animation industry (I am a Bachelor in Animation and Digital Art) Just wanted to leave some knowledge :D

Any one else notice that pabu is the name of the island but they never named the planet? When you see them flying in the planet looks exactly like Scarif! Which is also where the death trooper training will be. Which ties into the theory that Crosshair will become a death trooper.

I also noticed that we never got the name of the planet, but never really put 2 and 2 together with how the planet looked. Haven't seen Rogue One in a while so I forgot how it looked from space, but looking at the planet now, I definitely agree with you. It's Scarif for sure

The Batch choosing to settle down on Pabu has to have a significant impact for the overall story, cuz we know they can't just show us like 3 episodes of Hunter fishing, Tech designing better Tsunami protections and Wrecker destroying everyone on the island at arm-wrestling lmao

24:40 What do you mean by that??? In the clone rights arc with Riyo Chuchi, Rex called the Batch to infiltrate Rampart's Venator. That call already happened and I don't really think we will see Rex again this season, maybe to assist with Crosshair's extraction. However as someone has said in the comments this planet looks incredibly similar to Scarif and we didn't learn its name here so it really makes it possible for Death Trooper Crosshair to meet the Batch right there as part of his experimental training.

What a perfect cooldown before the emotional rollercoaster of Omega getting captured, Crosshair getting rescued and Tech dying

KRIFF YES!!!! Hunter's fatherhood has definitely been evident in this episode alone, and seeing the batch help out the community puts a smile on my face. Now that's teamwork to a T.

I don't get it why people call it a Filler cause It's just a show of simple men and a kid making it through the galaxy and helping people and friends along the way. BTW the cinematography was so gorgeous. Great reaction you guys

I'm just gonna say it but I think it's time for Cid to take a dirt nap, no one threatens the batch especially not Omega.

Haven't watched in a while but from what I can see Omega is important to Nala because Omega was supposed to be a side experiment for her but she must have used unknown to her "material" turns out it's some ancient Sith Lord or even a female Palpatine. She doesn't realize until after she loses Omega when some random soldier asked where the Emperor's Pimp juice got to. So lucky for the batch they are training the next DESTROYER OF GALAXIES in the fine art of kicking ass in combat. I also think the twist in the game coming out is that the survivor is a PPalpatineclone. Plots are fun.

"A friend her own age..." and Omega is technically older (in terms of years lived) than the other members of Clone Force 99. She just didn't undergo the accelerated aging, and is growing normally like her brother Alpha (a.k.a. Boba Fett).

You gotta give them credit. For a planet on which mainly war-refugees live - they surely choose the tropical bahamas-paradise one :D

The story is definitely going to demand they leave Pabu, but I like to think that Pabu IS where the Batch will eventually settle down, especially since Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker have really expressed interest in finding their own place away from the war. I don't think the Empire will show up at Pabu, but I do agree that the Batch will likely have to leave because Rex/Echo will contact them.

@@jacktheflash8478 The planets look exactly the same. Also Scarif is where the empire will build their death trooper training camps and to house the construction of the first Death Star. Not to mention Scarif itself doesn't have a happy ending. If you haven't you should go watch Rouge one.

​@@kridens6536 while this episode may not have a lesson for the characters to learn, this episode is important because it ties to the characters' wants. Throughout the season the Bad Batch has stayed out of the fight because they want to give Omega a happy peaceful life. And on this episode they finally get that. This is part of their development: getting what they want, so they can later realize what they need.

Cid's going to rat them out and the Empire is going to come to Padu. That's how they're going to get Omega. I bet she goes willingly to save the island

“Artifacts across the galaxy” I wouldn’t be surprised lore wise if the empire does claim pabu, many years later thrawn joins and learns of this place then he wants jurisdiction here. For him to keep and study the artifacts knowing his background.

I'm thinking that Cid will TRY to turn them in, but end up on the wrong end of an interrogation droid instead of getting the reward she expects.

The name of the place in the beginning (with the Temple of Doom style vibes) is actually translated the Club Lao Che in Aurebesh great deep dive there too.

Sid’s message may have been a coded warning. The slurred parts of the message may say “run boys”.

Cid... she was threatening the "boys," not necessarily Omega. But yeah, its time for her to leave the scene. Pabu reminds me so much of a trip to Hawai'i... the hillsides with houses... the lights at night. It also reminds me of a Mediterranean or Aegean city. I don't think this episode is filler. Even such episodes have an underlying message. Like the episode where Tech is racing... we learned that Cid is not to be trusted at all. Then, we see it fully in later episodes. There's something to learn here. But in all... its about time the boys and Omega had a chance to relax and unwind for a bit.... keeps them human.

Cid says "You'd do well to *not* assume I am just threatening you boys" in her message, so she was pretty explicitly threatening Omega, too, I think. But I am very glad they got the chance to have a (somewhat) more relaxing time here. The contrast between how well the guys here are doing compared to Crosshair last episode is also very intentional, I think, and probably builds toward Crosshair finally joining back up

I am so not fair cuz all I want to see is for them to join the cause and help Rex and echo rescue other clones, bring the fight to the empire any way they can. But that’s just me. I couldn’t imagine living the way they do And just relaxing when other clones and the rest of the galaxy are suffering.

@@acdragonrider If omega wasn’t there, they would be doing exactly that. But they pretty clearly can’t raise omega flying from war zone to war zone, and they can’t go back to Cid. So, honestly, this is pretty much their only chance. At least until it gets burned to the ground by the empire at some point lmao.

That was a cute episode. Nice to see them following up on leaving Cid, she has turned out to be quite toxic relationship to them. With the way this episode ended I am guessing we are going to get a time skip by the time of the next one. By the way it was just me or the older architeture gave someone else old Jedi Temple vibes? Even that tree in the middle of the yard in front of the tall bulding gave me the same vibes.

I thought Rex reached out during the Coruscant arc

Omega turning over the round table to hind behind made be chuckle out of place because all I could think of was Bossk from Robot Chicken Star Wars when he did the exact same thing in the Indiana Jones type scene. "You just got Bossked." I think this was a nice segway into the climax of the season. They keep teasing about Cid betrayal but I'm not so sure it'll go exactly like that. Pretty sure the Empire is on the hunt for Omega as a priority besides any remaining Jedi. So Pabu might not even be safe. Also Boba is associated with pirates right now, so having a character be a link might pay off.

I think they’ve already been captured. My theory is that what we’ve just seen is a simulation to keep them docile.

There is that one Clone Wars season 6 episode with Windu and Jar Jar where that cult were sacrificing leaders or the Bad Batch episode from a couple weeks back with the young people in the mines.

0:44 - If Dee says Mayday is his new favorite clone, hopefully we'll get some flashback material in some Star Wars setting with Rex or someone else where they encounter Mayday during the Clone War. Give Baker another chance to voice his favorite.

Maybe in something similar to Tales of the Jedi. That could happen at anytime of the stories.

I can’t help but think Crosshair would hate it on Pabu based on his character traits. Were he still with the Bad Batch, he’d be solitary, stoic, unfriendly, I doubt he’d relax like the others.

Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb with the little green monkeys here. I submit that the Empire will set out to kidnap Omega, but grab Lyana Hazard instead, thus fulfilling our theory that this NOT a filler episode. The Batch will feel responsible, and go to rescue Lyana. The kidnap and rescue arc will use all the remaining episodes before it reaches a heart stopping climax. As for Crosshair, I think the Empire will try to convert him in to an early prototype of Phase I Dark or Death Trooper. The experiment will fail when Crosshair turns out to be stronger willed than they expected, thanks to his mutation. Will Crosshair rejoin the Batch? I'd like to say yes, but I fear he will sacrifice himself to save his former team.

Omega's super power is everywhere she goes it turns to shit.

Could someone clarify how long a rotation is? Is it a week as I'm thinking it is? Because 7 days to repair all that damage seems very fast.

I’m torn about this episode. Such a bad ass beginning like in The Mandalorian and then complete change of pace. It’s happening too much w TBB. They are going to Jam Pack everything in the final 3 episodes. I’m ok with that but after last week’s assassination of an officer this episode was weak.
