Where are the new episodes of the Star Wars podcast (there not on KZread) ????
I’m Pacific Islander and watching the amazing island life and community of close, loving, helpful and above all welcoming people of pabu. using something like Mother Nature itself as the threat is more than enough and is a true thing the islanders deal with when tsunami warnings come our way. Just over all enjoyed this amazing depiction of the island life and what we value most.

Yeah, I had a hard time enjoying the episode at the start because I was constantly thinking "it's about to get nuked from orbit". As weird as it is, I was kind of relieved the conflict of the episode was just a natural disaster, and everybody got out safe.

Tech's "date and time" comment I think may be huge. Have we ever heard him genuinely joke around before? He's stated some ironic comments but never something quite like this, at least from what I recall. It's like the island, prior to the tsunami, was finally helping him unwind.
@YodatheHobbit

I don't think he was joking, being ironic, or sarcastic. Tech was totally serious about logging that event.

He joked a bit in season 1, in episode 1 when they arrived on Onderon and later about Cids "ugly side"
KRIFF YES!!! Hunter’s fatherhood is definitely shown a lot more in this episode, and seeing the batch help out the community in this planet puts a smile on my face.
Fe kinda has a thing Tech, she hitted on him in the first episode. Here it seem like she's kinda trying to open him up outside of his technology.
I am totally OK with this episode. Lighthearted and fun. Always kept a smile on my face. After all the Batch has been through they deserve this.
I don't think Cid knows about Pabu. Since Phee keeps her artifacts there, it's in Phee's best interest if Cid doesn't know Pabu's location.
I noticed that the whole squad has completely different armor now. There's no traces of their clone armor anywhere.
@Ezramando16

It's like their casual look. They've bounced between that and their clone armor for all of S2. Even rex in S2 doesn't have his armor on, but he'll definitely wear his clone armor again, maybe in the season finale.
I quite like the choice on Hunter’s part, but theres only a few episodes left to get Crosshair so we all know this won’t last.

Phee and Tech works so well because he is shown to be constantly being taught to care by Phee. And Phee is always teasing Tech, calling him Brown Eyes shows she has taken enough interest
When you think about it The Bad Batch are simultaneously playing the roles of brothers, uncles and fathers, so it’s no wonder they have no idea how to properly raise Omega.
The sunset talk gave me an interesting random idea for a planet in Star Wars. What if there was a planet in a binary system, but the planet was between the two suns, so one rises in the east and sets in the west, and the other does vice versa. There would always be at least one sun in the sky at all times, but there would be a short time along the thin "twilight" zone where one sun is rising and the other is setting at the same time, so there's a brief time where the sky dims a little and you get a sunrise/sunset in both the east and west. Or why don't we see a planet that operates like Uranus where its axis is tilted 90 degrees, and one half is always day, one half is always night, and then there's a permanent twilight zone in the middle

Maybe the clones that they rescue or something which rebelled against the Empire will become like Pabu's security or something lol.
Yes, that is ABSOLUTELY the same AZ! NO OTHER DROID could have that same personality! Fives got him to be able to think for himself! He's almost an extension of Fives. A living memory.
I usually don’t associate these shows with comedy but Tech and Wrecker cracked me up in this one. “Looks like you got some competition” and “I will note the date and time to commemorate such a momentous occasion” cracked me up.😂 In terms of the actual episode I did love that we explored yet another new planet but at the same time this one also showed me why I appreciate these characters a lot more than most. They care to help others no matter the circumstance. If they see someone in need Empire or not involved, they go to help. Also lets give our boy Tech some love for looking like he’s closer to love than previously.
Ya know what? It’s refreshing to see just a nice planet in Star Wars. Sure, there’s some danger (though it seems to happen pretty rarely, based on the 30 years comment), but overall this is just an appreciably nice place with nice people. I have a feeling this comment may not age well, but I’m going with it anyway on the hope that my current thought is correct.
To me it did not feel like a filler episode. Seeing Hunter, tech, and wrecker enjoying their time in the island makes me believe on what they are seeing right now peace and prosperity and joy, and having the ability to just rest and omega be a kid shows how the outcome would’ve been if the empire would’ve not happened and/or if they have won the war. Because hunter realizing the people are mostly refugees from different place’s really show the damage the war has done to everyone.
I feel like Sid somehow has a homing beacon on their ship, and the community will have to aid them in the future to fight off the Empire…
Omega is just straight savage in that first opening sequence. Total child soldier.
I love how Hunter cares so much about Omega and I didn't expect a tsunami, love your commentary, it's hilarious and your videos are great.
I like this episode as a stark narrative contrast to last weeks episode, but also on a technical level seeing the animation team do a tsunami, water simulation is immensely resource intensive to compute and render out and would have been next to impossible to do at this level of quality for a single 30 min episode even a few years ago.
It would be interesting if they end up not doing the cliche "Sid isn't someone to be trusted, she has a dark past and would sell you out as soon as it was more profitable but ends up having a heart and doesn't betray our guy and proves she can be trusted and is a friend" thing that we've seen before and she actually does turn them in and is the cause of conflict coming to Pabu.
When Calvin said "well yeah, that's why they had the pot-bellied pig" I laughed so hard, because I was thinking it too, but Calvin was badass and dark enough to say it.
Stanley Tucci is the name you were trying to think of…
Why does Calvin do the best Ghostbusters car siren noise I've heard
2050: Yeah... that's what i immediately thought. They're gonna stay there for maybe one or two episodes, have an unrelated, fun mission/treasure hunt/adventure with Phee, just so they and we, the audience, get an idea of how good their life away from it all could be if they were just allowed to live it, and then the Empire will find them, probably thanks to Cid. That being said - i did like the episode. I can practically already taste all the reviewes done by self-proclaimes SW-Experts on YT who are gonna hate this because it's filler and doesn't drive the plot along and blah-blah-blah. But i liked it. A lot. By now, i like the Squad well enough to want an happy end for them and this could be it. It probably won't be, but it were nice if it was.
I know this episode will probably have people crying filler as usual, but seeing the batch making allies like Phee is really paying off.

Loved this episode. A great look at true, natural balance in the force
Another great reaction guys!!
The island of Pabu reminds me of a trip to Hawai'i. Seeing the hillside covered with houses and lights at night. Beautiful. It also looks like Pabu takes its architecture from Mediterranean or Aegean Sea locations.
I like how Phee and the island of Pabu won over the Batch one by one. Hunter with a place for Omega to have a stable place to grow up. Wrecker was immediately in with the food. And Phee seems to be working on personally convincing Tech. But I also feel like he would be the easiest to convince to stay anyway, especially if the others want to.
Loved the reaction guys!
I love when wercker said got some competition
Just gonna drop this here... Cid may be a self serving crook who would happily sell out the guys, but she wouldn't threaten Omega. That part of transmission has been altered in an attempt to lure the Batch back to deal with her. Cid is already being watched or even held by the Empire.
I love the "I will mark this momentous occasion". My uncle actually did that for my dad once. Wrote on a napkin and had the other family members sign it. We have it framed. Hehe
Can’t believe the batch completely ditched AZ 😢

Honestly I think it's really cool that we got any type of Star Wars media that actually depicts natural disasters like this. Most of Star Wars it's always the Empire the separatists or the first order or whatever, so it's really cool seeing them take on something that actually happens in real life
That opening bar fight, kind of had Indians jones and the temple of doom vibes. With Indy and Lao-Che

13:35 Is so funny! I'm glad you guys laughed just as much as I did.
This was a really cool and fun episode, I thought it was great and just a really fun experience. I liked how lighthearted the majority of the story was. And I especially loved the major Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom feelings that the opening scene of this episode gave off. And just like always, the animation is super beautiful, and stunning, especially all the establishing shots Pabu. The coloring and detail of this little island was really amazing and the shots were they showed the ocean were just so gorgeous. I also loved the score for this episode, it really gave off this mix of being lighthearted and wholesome but also really tense. I really liked Phee in this episode, this was the first time that I felt like we could truly trust her. And the Batch seems to get along with her much better than they ever did with Cid. Plus I really like the dynamic between Phee and Omega. And oh my God it finally happened, the Bad Batch finally split off from Cid. I have wanted this to happen ever since towards the end of Season 1. I feel like the Batch themselves are better off just going on their own rather than continuing to have to deal with Cid. I also feel like it will be better for the show, they can now stop doing the mission of the week kind of thing and fully focus on the story of the Empire. Also just kind of a side note, Cid said it had been 20 rotations since they last connected her, which means it has been roughly 20 days since the Zillo Beast episode. It was also really great to see Omega get be a kid and get to have fun with another kid. It was so heartwarming to get see her like this. And keep in mind the last time we saw her have fun with other children was in Season 1 Episode 2 with Cut Lawquane’s kids. Also the entire Tsunami scene was super tense. The entire time they seemed like they were trying to trick us into thinking something was going to happen to Shep or his daughter. And honestly it worked, through out the entire scene I was so worried that something was going to happen to Shep or his daughter. I’m also glad that it seems like the Batch have finally found a place that they can settle down in and call home. Overall I felt like this was such a fun episode, and I cannot wait to see next week’s episode. I am so curious to see how this episode will tie into the bigger story of the show. And with only 3 episodes left I wonder how they are going to wrap things up by the end. Either way I am super curious to see where the rest of the story will lead the Batch and what will happen in the show next.
Opening sequence was an homage to the beginning of Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom.
When I realised phee stole artifacts to preserve culture my respect for her 📈
I love how Tech's attitude towards echo is full motion now! He's so cute I really appreciate those subtle comments of his showing how he cares compares on how indifferent he was to her on season 1.
The opening scene was a homage to The Temple of Doom opening scene. In ToD, they were at Club Obi Wan. In this scene, the Aurebesh lettering on the outside of the building translates to Club Lao Che.
Another fun episode! Wave Crew with another great reaction! The Batch & Omega were scintillating in this episode! And Phee & Tech - 🤔🤔🤔
Next episode it would be great to see the Bad Batch go and get the kid from the Ipsium mine and Gungi to help with their mission on Mount Tantiss.. Rex and Echo might come back too. The Empire will underestimate the Bad Batch because of all their allies they picked up throughout this season..
Did anyone else notice that the voices of the inhabitants of Pabu have a weird almost echo or reverb effect? I though there was something wrong with my audio when I first watched it but it seems that the Bad Batch’s voices are normal.
we in the Azores have volcanic eruptions every 50 to 50 years like clockwork
Anybody else notice how the first part felt A LOT like the beginning of Indiana Jones the temple of doom?
Those monkeys aren't just grass types. They're basically Thwackey xD
They will also capture Omega and then Omega and Crosshair will escape together.
You guys are from Marietta?! Greetings from Englewood, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. While I've never dealt with any flooding during my lifetime, Dayton had a massive flood in 1913 where all of downtown was under 6 feet of water. We have a system of dams in place to prevent future floods, one of them being the Englewood Dam. I drive over it almost every day.
That character Shep Hazard is voiced by Hol Horse! I knew I recognized him!
As soon as I saw this peaceful place, I thought the Empire was going to destroy it. Everytime someone showed a cool scene, I thought the Empire was going to show up. LOL Psych! Natural disaster.
Mando episode bummed me out. Good thing I watched bad batch last. This is how you do slow
Pabu is also from legend of korra if anyone still wondering xdd
Far moreso than the story in these animated shows now, I watch for the cg. It’s been amazing since the later seasons of Clone wars but this season of bad batch has been on another level.
i was thinking of pabu from the legend of korra
Phee and Tech are a thing now, something I was not expecting. there was a month time jump before this episode, so I expect the time jump to possibly be at least 6 months after this episode when we next see the batch. Either we'll start next episode with Rex & Echo, or Crosshair on Mt Tantus.
Wrecker: I'm full. Im NEVER full. Me: Oh no, Wrecker is full...HIS ARCH IS COMPLETE. NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Pabu is also the fire ferret in the legend of Korra
Thank you, please keep Star Wars on here
On March 11, 2011, a tsunami hit the Tohoku region of Japan. The environment is similar to The Bad Batch this time.
39:33 Someone under Kyle Katarn's video has noticed that Pabu was the island and we never got the planet's name. He also added that this planet looks insanely similar to Scarif (where the Empire had a Death Trooper training camp later on) and I gotta say it is remarkably similar plus Scarif is in the far Outer Rim which would also check out for a paradise sanctuary where noone comes. I'm pretty sure my prediction of Crosshair being one of the first Death Trooper experiments was correct and thus my new prediction is that we will see a Crosshair episode on Tantis and then a 2 episode finale where he's sent to Scarif to wipe out the population.
That was a cute episode. Nice to see them following up on leaving Cid. I am guessing we are going to get a time skip by the time of the next one. By the way it was just me or the older architeture gave someone else old Jedi Temple vibes? Even that tree in the middle of the yard in front of the tall bulding gave me the same vibes.
In this episode...they had the high ground.
Crosshair also knew that they survived and he is currently on Mount Tantis
I wonder if Pabu is named after Pabu from Legend of Korra (the orange rat thing that Bolin adopts)?
@valathor95
Жыл бұрын
More likely it’s based on the word pabu in one of the many languages that have it.
I Have a Really Bad Feeling About This! I mean this episode was a reminder that this is still a children adressed show and they presented us a very dark episode last week, so was enough deaths for now, but made this episode a bit melodrama just putting people in danger and everyone safe (I mean really that evacuation should have "Benny Hills Theme" on the background and everybody running fast forward motion to achieve that evacuation for real) BUT I'm afraid a lil evil seed was planted at the beggining of the episode, Empire is after Omega, Cyd is not on happy therms, and they robbed an artifact, the tree, from some gang. I'm afraid the empire will find Omega's whereabouts by some tracker Cyd secretly have on them or something and this Island ends up being a concentration camp like the ones on Andor. It was happy to see this island survive the wave but I would hate see them menaced by the presence of the Batch and they end up feeling ugly guilty and more homeless and broken.
39:19 Aaron you also know Pabu from the Legend of Korra.
Anyone else screaming Stanley Tucci at their screens at the start of this lol
Nice to see Steve Blum’s voice back in action.
Vacation: Scariff ; Live: Sorgum; Retire: Pabu. Apologies for spelling.
A little tip for Eric from an Australian, the word Emu, is pronounced "E- Mew".
Okay, I'm in love with this new planet, Pabu (the title/name made me immediately think of Ponda Baba😊) . It's very Grecian/The Mediterranean-like. It was therapeutic to see depicted. The animation is perfection...I felt like I was on that elevated vista with TBB, and on the ocean with Omega and her new friend. It was so relaxing and serene...🏖I wanted to spend time on that planet and its sanctuary retreat. However, halfway in to the episode, I was wondering WHEN something was going to show up to ruin it. Tsunami or The Empire...or something else. It would be a very nice, removed place to raise Omega and lay low from The Empire. I am a little surprised by how antagonistic Cid is being, of late. Now, I see that Phee Genoa will be a significant presence in TBB and Omega's life. The fact that she can see Cid for who she is, yet considers her a friend, but will protect others from her grip, speaks of this "Liberator Of Ancient Wonders" 's good nature (since she has been finding and procuring artifacts of value to various cultures...again, "treasure" is a big, recurring theme in Season 2 of TBB, since Chapter 1). I hope Phee and Tech end up in a romantic relationship, and We (might) get to see them in live-action, played by Sykes and Baker, 28 years later in the timeline. I'd also LOVE to see Pabu depicted in live-action, as well...there are certainly places in Europe that could definitely partially sub for it, plus a good sprinkling of CGI, StageCraft, and Matte artwork. I wonder if Pabu can be depicted in The High Republic? Its museum looks something akin to Valo. Just how old is this sanctuary, and did The Jedi ever travel there? Would Doctor Aphra know of its existence? What star system is this located in? Is this Mid-Rim or, as I suspect, The Outer Rim (where all of the cool, crazy, mysterious, interesting things happen)? As always, your reaction is special, unique, fun, and heartwarming. Hugs and thanks, Blind Wave Bros. BTW, upon seeing the jade sculpture Phee was after, was I the only one who immediately thought of The Wookiee home planet, Kashyyyk?
I feel like the Pabu Aaron was thinking of was actually Bolin’s Fire Ferret from Legend of Korra
I can see Sid finding them if she knows more about Fe than we think. Would she know about Fe having connections to here? It might have come up after a job and Sid is someone with a long memory.
I hope the Bad Batch finally settle down and take roots in a location. Would not mind an episode or two of them helping rebuild Pabu as well.
It was giving me awesome final fantasy 10 vibes 😊
I want a Grooky! I mean a Memu ;p
