Stood 3ft in front of Hooky in a small Aussie Pub on Sydney North Shore back in 85 as New Order played a secret warm up gig for their Tour ... place was packed - they played all the early New Order songs and a few Joy Div tracks ... there was no stage riser so the band were on the same level as the punters ... classic night.

But New Order haven't released one album that I can listen to from start to finish. "Low-Life," "Brotherhood" and "Technique" come closest to perfection, but each one of those have at least two, probably three songs I can't sit through.

By Hook or by Crook, Blue Monday was touched by the magic wand of genius. Indeed that music tech was way out of reach of many normal people in the 1980's. I could afford only one item, an Akai S612+MD280, I think the LM1 was £7000 which was price of a house. I think even Jim Kerr of Simple Minds said the music tech they bought at that same time was huge money, jokingly he said almost making them bankrupt .
